《The Aether Universe》Chapter 6

Tai still wasn't very used to fighting with one leg, but he would get through it. On his right hand was his walking stick so he wouldn't fall over. Whenever an ant charged in to attack, Tai would switch between his walking stick and his fist every so often, developing a unique fighting style.
When they were far away, Tai would use his walking stick, and when they got too close, his fist would do the job.

Tai took a quick glance at the notifications since he was pretty confident that these ants wouldn't pose a threat. "Huh. Why'd I only learn Martial Arts now? Oh, well."
Tai dismissed the notifications and looked at Fenrir to see how he was doing. Fenrir was doing quite well for himself. There were 3 ant corpses around him and he only had small cuts that Tai was confident he could heal with his Ki.
As Tai fought and killed the ants, his Martial Arts and Staff Proficiency leveled up to 3.
Tai took a deep breath. His chest rose slowly and went down as he exhaled, looking at the last ant. This last ant was very different from the other ants. First off, its eyes were green, and also parts of its hard exoskeleton were green.
Fenrir had finished off the last of his own ants and had joined his master by his side to fight the ant in front of them.
Tai bent his knees, ready to dodge any of the ant's attacks, but instead of attacking, the ant turned around and went through the back door, leaving the house.
"HEY! Get back here!" Tai ran after the ant outside and saw that it was standing outside, waiting for them. "Oh? Did you want to fight outside?"

If someone were to see Tai, they would think he was crazy trying to talk to a giant ant, but he didn't care.
The ant's green eyes glowed as the sand around the ant started covering it and solidifying turning into sand armor.
"Wait, that's pretty cool. Let me try." Tai shaped his Ki aura, changing it into a solid-state.
You have learned a skill: Ki Armor

Contrary to what the skill says, the Ki that surrounded Tai, which was supposed to be armor, looked nothing like armor. It was more like a rag that flowed with the wind, but it would do the job, and would only get better with each use.
"You're not the only one that has armor now," Tai said as he pointed at the ant.
Clicking its mandibles, the ant charged at Tai, its mandibles glowing green as the sand beneath Tai grabbed his leg, stopping him from moving.
Seeing that his master was stuck and couldn't move, Fenrir bent his legs to jump in and distract the ant, but Tai stopped him.
"No, no. I got this. Stay here." As the ant charged at Tai, he began concentrating his Ki into his fist but still kept his armor up. The ant got close and close and Tai waited and waited. He was planning to punch the ant straight in the face. That's how he's always done it, and it has never failed him yet.
"Now," he whispered to himself as he cocked his arm back and punched the ant in the face, sending it rolling away from the force of the punch.
From the force of the punch, it was normal to think that the ant would have some injuries, but the ant was tough. Other than rolling away from the punch, the sand armor around it took the brunt of the attack, sparing the ant from any injuries.

The ant's eyes glowed green again as it started repairing its cracked armor. This time, instead of charging at Tai, the ant started with a different approach. Its mandibles glowed green as bits of sand the size of a fist floated around the ant. Doing this took a lot of concentration from the ant, so the sand that was keeping Tai in place returned to normal sand leaving Tai to do whatever he wanted.
The sand floating around the ant kind of like a barrier started flying towards Tai, hurtling through the air at a fast speed.
Dexterity was one of Tai's lowest stats, but it was still above the average of a normal human, well, a normal human before the arrival of the system that is. Using his dexterity, Tai pushed his body to the limits, barely dodging the barrage of sand that was thrown at him. Tai made a mental note to increase his dexterity in the future so he would have an easier time dodging in the future.
Slowly and steadily, Tai made his way towards the ant, dodging as he did so. Every so often, the sand would hit his Ki Armor, and damage it, but as long as he supplied it with Ki, his own armor would also regenerate, albeit at a slow pace. Some pieces of sand even got through his armor, leaving a small cut on parts of his body like his face, and even cutting parts of his clothes. Thankfully, his endurance took care of the small cuts to stop the bleeding.
As he got closer and closer to the ant, it became harder and harder to dodge as more and more sand came flying at him. The pieces of sand hit his Ki armor, leaving cracks. The cracks turned into holes as it was being barraged with sand, exposing Tai to even more sand, but he persevered, not caring about the growing amount of cuts on his body.
Finally, he arrived at the ant. It was now time to end it. Tai dispelled his walking stick and his Ki Armor. He would need every bit of his Ki to deal with this ant in one shot. Numerous sand pellets assaulted his body, making his body a bleeding mess. He used every bit of his Ki on his right arm, strengthening it beyond human limits.
Tai yelled as he punched the ant with all his Ki. The punch instantly killed the ant, its blood coloring the sand.

Gaming on a MUD is difficult.
This is a story based on my characters background and journal that I played on a mud (Multi User Dungeon) over the course of several years. Dozens of people play a text based command line game at the same time. I figured I'd try to turn in into a story to see if anyone found it interesting. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. This is my first time so not very experienced. It is a story about how going into a multi player game expecting a typical RPG experience turns into something else because other players are involved.
