《Master of Learning (Color coded)》Chapter 18 Meeting Gobber

All but my shaman class have reached level 10 now. Elementalist levels extremely fast in comparison because of the excessive usage in my other main mage spells. I've been primarily focusing on leveling my classes evenly but eventually some will advanced passed the rest. I'll focus on getting shaman to 10 first.
I did get some extremely helpful skills from hitting 10. Just getting that far should help me tremendously later on. I still need to unlock more classes but at the moment, none come to mind. None that I know how to get without spending years looking for them.
The forest has exhausted its amount of enemies for me to fight. Since the assault on the goblin fortress, I've went back to do another investigation to try and find anything else useful but to no avail. I haven't seen a single goblin since the attack.
Most of the spiders in the forest are dwindling in numbers too. I think I might have hunted them to almost extinction like the goblins. I gained 2 levels from them so I'm now level 12. I make the decision to switch my schedule around so I can fight at night. I get ready to head back to Shienta when I hear a voice call out.
“Please don't kill me.”
A young goblin approaches me. Stuttering from fear he speaks.
“Y-you killed the last k-king, king was my master so you b-become n-next m-m-master.”
He's trembling visibly from fear. Knee's buckling, almost giving way as he approaches me. He might have seen what I did to the other goblins. Now he's seeking revenge for it under the guise of becoming the next king. I think about killing him but I hear a whimper from Pokodo. It seems like she could understand what I was thinking and was audibly protesting it. “Just for you Pokodo.” I think to myself. I take in a deep breath and breath a heavy sigh as I finally ask him.
“What do I have to do as your master?”
“N-nothing, you g-get to lead the remaining goblins...which is just m-me... You killed everyone else...”
I'm starting to feel bad for what I did but they were actively raping women for years before I saved them... There is no sympathy. I can't feel bad for killing them, they deserved it. They deserved to die for what they've done. This goblin is different. He's young enough to have not been a part of it. I can fix this one, make him better than other goblins.

“Fine, give me your name and kneel to your master.”
He kneels down and speaks.
“I-it's Gobber.”
The city doesn't have any rules about goblins entering the town. I still don't want to cause a panic. I tell him to go back and live in the old fortress. At least for now... I also don't trust him nearly enough for him to live with me. I still have a sneaking suspicion that he might try to kill me.
“I'll come get you before sundown.”
I tell Gobber and leave to go sleep in my bed back in my room at the magic school. Thinking about whether or not having a goblin ally was a good idea. Well if worse comes to worse I'll just kill him.
I wake up around around 6 that night. I started late today, so I will start waking up around 4 tomorrow. I wont be able to make it to Gobber tonight. I should have probably told him that but I don't think he'll come looking for me. Before lessons start in the morning, I'll visit him to clear up the misunderstanding.
I get ready for training, grabbing my weighted backpack and gear. I start to get a little nervous, this will be the first time I've fought new enemies since I challenged the goblins. Harder enemies I might not be prepared for. I just hope nothing too serious happens that I won't be able to recover from. I think about taking Gizmo but decide not to, he's not suited for fighting and would only hold me back or die. The enemies at night are stronger than the daytime enemies. Even with night vision, the blue mage passive. I still don't think I could make it to the fortress through the forest avoiding all the enemies.
I'll run my old slime path for today. I pick up my pets and start jogging, no enemies yet, I start to get close to the forest. I hear a loud scream coming from the forest. I don't have to think very hard to figure it out as I rush to save his stupid ass.
Gobber has a dire wolf on top of him, almost ripping his neck apart. I catch it with a stealth fired focused shot bolt and the poison is enough to weaken it visibly. I get another bolt into it before it turns and charges me. Sock interrupts it, Pokodo jumps off of Sock and onto the wolf, that also distracts it for me. My pets make a very good team.

Sock might be weaker but it has already been hit with 2 numbing poison bolts slowing its movements. While we are fighting the dire wolf, I see a large vampire bat approaching. This can end badly if we don't take the dire wolf down quickly. I aim at it with snipe and get a killing shot through the eye. All of our attention switches to the large bat.
Far more evasive than the wolf who was preoccupied. We can't hit it a single time. Then Pokodo takes damage and is thrown back. Fearing for the worst, I rush towards she casting healing magic and get a heal off. I call for a retreat and we all rush towards the entrance of the city. I yell at Gobber, clearly mad.
“You almost got my pet killed you fool, what were you doing outside of the fortress?”
He is on the ground panting heavily. He is not cut out for running away from fights. He talks into between heavy breaths.
“Master didn't show up when master said they would. So I got scared you were hurt and went looking for you...”
Gobber is almost too stupid to get mad at. I forgive him since Pokodo turned out to be fine. I summoned a black mage familiar. 20 minutes of walking later I summoned a skeleton right before we got into a fight. Orange slimes this time. They have double the speed and strength of normal slimes as well as being immune to fire damage.
Normal slimes aren't immune to any type of damage except water. As the slimes get stronger they gain an immunity to a different elements. Rainbow slimes sound cute but they're actually deadly dungeon monsters. They have complete spell immunities. They have to be beaten to death with blunt weapons or split into smaller versions until it's too small to split, than they can be killed.
You can easily get overwhelmed by them if you don't have a plan ready. Knowing ahead of time I've prepared some freezing bolts for my weapon. Gobber doesn't have a weapon… Everything about this goblin pisses me off. He's beyond weak, no weapon, no armor, no skill...
“Here, hold onto my crossbow until I can buy you 1. You should be careful wi-.”
I hand Gobber the crossbow and he unintentionally shoots the bolt over the city wall before I could finish explaining the safety of it… WHAT THE FUCK MAN! This goblin is worse than useless. I'm half tempted to kill him we continue on. I warn him that if he hits anyone of us by accident, he's a dead goblin and he gulps as he shakes his head understanding. I explain the basics of archery to him which doesn't take long and we continue.
I went to the mid to start supporting the pets while Gobber took the rear. The next set of slimes went far easier than the last group. Even without me using the crossbow my magic has improved to the point it is usable for damage. Gobber talked up.
“What does class unlocked archer mean?”
Huh!? He learned archer already? So goblins have never used a weapon, besides clubs or primitive daggers. No wonder I actually killed them so easily. I explain what classes are to him and tell him he should just focus on shooting for now. I take another few moments to teach him how to use focus shot and we move on. A few more packs of orange slimes later and I'm ready to call it a night when Gobber asks.
“What does snipe do?”
… No fucking way! This freaking goblins already passed level 10 as an archer already! What kind of unnatural speed is that!? The next hour I spend teaching him how to snipe and daylights already coming up. I spent the whole night fixing Gobber's mistakes. I feel more worn out than normal. I give him my crossbow for protection. I'll buy another 1 later and I send him back to the fortress. I still have school also... Not looking forwards to it, I just want to go to bed.
I barely stay awake through class as I'm ready to call it quits for the day. Most of my classmates as well as a few teachers probably think I'm on drugs or something with how drowsy I am. I sway back and fourth from exhaustion... I don't think I've ever been this tired before. Perhaps it is because of the mental stress of my new ally Gobber. I fall into bed that day completely exhausted. Thinking of what I'm going to do tomorrow. I go to bed from barely hitting the pillows of it.
