《Bathilda the Bat》Outcast

Outside the walled-off City, Bathilda manages to make herself a crude-looking shelter out of old-discarded wood. It took the rest of the day, but not being allowed in the city left her with nothing else to do.

She would have used the broken wall pieces, but the guards might have complained about that too. They were already unhappy with her taking up a residence-of-sorts just outside their homes.

Every time Bathilda flew up to look for more wood, arrows were fired at her from the many openings in the wall. None of them could pierce her skin, so she ignored them and continued searching.

'You'd think they'd be a little more grateful.'

Luckily, and equally unlucky in a twisted-yet-logical sense, no one was hurt in the attack which had only just happened as Bathilda heard the first scream. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to heal anyone even after casting Area Heal as the invasion was over before anyone could be injured.

"At least they probably feel better," she grumbles, looking at her piss-poor version of a home. It has three awfully-constructed walls and a wonky roof.

"I'm tired. Stupid guards. They should be throwing me a party or something right now." She gripes, laying down inside her hut.

Maybe you should have waited for a few injuries to accrue.

"It might have worked, but I couldn't do that. As soon as that girl screamed I was there. Nothing else mattered." She closes her eyes and answers honestly.

'Hopefully, I can get a good sleep tonight. We can focus on problems tomorrow. It's been a long day.' She informs him through her thoughts.

Indeed. Hopefully, this... Thing, won't fall down on you in the middle of the night.

'Don't say shit like that, Hiro.' is the last thing she thinks before sleep takes her. Morning comes and Bathilda finds herself pressed down by timber and fir. The walls did indeed collapse overnight as Hiro so aptly pointed out that they would.

Throwing the broken construct off her, Bathilda pulls out any remaining twigs and leaves from her hair. 'That's not going to cut it. Granted, it was just a quick job because I was tired, but today's efforts will be much better. There's nothing this nurse can't do these days!'

Scrapping any remaining wood, Bathilda proceeds to uproot the trees in her immediate area. The sight of fully-grown trees being thrown around is not missed by the still-cautious guards. Nor are the sounds unheard by the people within the walls. None of this phases Bathilda as she clears herself a small plot of land and levels it off once she's done.

'Magic and stats are amazing.'

With the trees laid out next to each other in a neat row, Bathilda uses a reality slash to remove the overgrown roots and then another for the top of the trees. Discarding the unneeded pieces, she's left with sixteen, extremely-large tree trunks. All in all, it took her less than ten minutes.

Starting with the widest, Bathilda extends her nails and cuts through the timber like butter. She squares the trunk off and then slices it lengthways down the middle before turning it on its side and repeating the process. She cuts them into ten-foot long sections and when she's done, Bathilda has created twelve, ten-foot long posts.

Being an avid boogler, back when she wasn't working, Bathilda feels confident in her knowledge. Unfortunately twenty minutes later she gives up in frustration. Unable to find anything to use as a nail, she curses herself for starting the task that she now wants to finish.

Deciding to use the rest of her points, with no need to save them now that she's, 'Bathilda, Queen of the Monsters!' She leans against a tree and thoroughly inspects each and every skill. Eventually, she finds one that's within her budget and is also perfect for the job.

Lesser Creation Magic: 25 Skill Points

Create objects through the use of your own imagination. The amount of mana used depends on the size of the creation and rank of the skill.

Testing her skill, Bathilda makes a simple, 5cm long nail. 20MP disappears from her pool and she smiles looking at her stats.

Name: Bathilda

Race: Higher Vampire

Class: Apprentice Maiden

Title: Queen Of Monsters

Level: 5

XP needed until next Level: 84,000

HP: 44,890/44,890

MP: 31,494/31,514

She laughs at the ridiculously-high numbers and makes a second nail. Staring at it for a moment, she then drops both of them to the ground. Her eyes open wide as she realises there's no need to go about this in such a roundabout way anymore. Concentrating on what her dream home would be like, Bathilda's MP begins to plummet with spectacular speed. At the same time, a light, almost as bright as the sun, forms into existence inside the self-made clearing.

Once it begins to dull and fade, what's left takes Bathilda's breath away. A beautiful log cabin is left behind. It has a pitched roof, a small porch and bright blue front door. Bathilda only has just over a thousand MP left, but the gorgeous little house more than justifies the cost.

Lesser Creation Magic has become Higher Creation Magic:

There are no upgrades available for this skill.

'I'm not complaining. Look at that, Hiro.' She says aiming her sight towards her new home.

It is rather impressive. Especially when compared against the one from yesterday.

Bathilda steps up onto the porch and enters the well-crafted house. Inside, the open area is large and spacious. Windows that line the wall let her see out into the forest and to the city walls. Unfurnished, apart from a wood stove, there are two doors that lead to separate rooms. A bedroom without a bed and a bathroom with a bath. Both rooms are nicely sized.

"Oh my god. Magic is so cool. If they had this on Earth then... Yeah, nevermind. They'd find hundreds of ways to use it for the wrong reasons. Still, just in the medical department alone the things it can do are amazing. This cabin as well, you could end homelessness with a click of a finger. Granted it cost a lot of mana, but still it would benefit the world tremendously." She creates two arm chairs and summons Hiro into a clone, now that they're away from the prying eyes of the watchers on the wall.

"Where going to have to do something about your appearance." She tilts her head whilst examining her own face. Beautifully shaped, as though a goddess had craved it herself.

"What do you mean?" Hiro asks in the same tone of voice as the original.

"The voice too. Can you cast illusion magic to alter your appearance?" She walks around examining him more. Now that she has become a Higher Vampire gone are the days of pre-adolescence. Maturing and womanhood have blossomed and the beautiful vampire is now a gorgeous lady. Her hair is longer, but with golden blonde, and her eyes the colour of crimson. Her pale skin still shines under the sun, but Bathilda has grown to love that feature.

"I can but I only have a small amount of MP." Shaking her from the examination, Bathilda tilts her head again with a puzzled expression. "Why? Normally you would have half of what I... have... Ah. My mistake. Sorry about this Hiro."

"Sorry about... Oh for..." Hiro doesn't finish his sentence as the clone disappears from the room.

Fucks sake, Bathilda!
