《(OLD)Play On! My Lovely Goddess!》Chapter 13: Called to the Meeting Room!

Dean Wei and several staff members of the Tsinghua University business faculty sat down in the meeting room. As there were not sufficient chairs available in the meeting room, most of the guests were standing. Only several highly prestigious characters from outstanding associations and institutions were seated. They controlled a huge amount of face in the education sector after all.
Seeing that majority of the important guests was present, Dean Wei nodded his head and started speaking.
“Greetings fellow scholars, I believe you’re all here for the recently popular singer seen on Weibo. However, I must request for all of you to leave. I have already given all of you sufficient face by not chasing you out along with the journalists and talent agencies.”
Immediately, numerous retorts from the representatives drowned the room.
“Are you serious?”
“Who are you to decide?”
“Such musical talent should be obvious be transferred to our school for us to nurture!”
Dean Wei was not a pushover, he coldly glared at the people in the room and said, “You do not simply barge into my faculty building uninvited.” Everyone in the room became silent, they all understood he was truly enraged this time.
“Dean Wei, why don’t we let the singer decide what she wants?” Professor Zheng Wei broke the silence as he proposed the idea to Dean Wei. Upon hearing these words, Dean Wei’s brow furrowed as he sank deep in thought.
“When I recorded the audio clip, I intended to aid the singer to polish her singing talent. If we do not take action, we would simply be letting her talent rot away! It would contrast with everything you said!” Professor Zheng Wei continued to reasonably pitch his proposal.
“Very well. Professor Zheng Wei, however as you are the only one who knows the identity of the student, please summon the student here so she can decide.”, Dean Wei sighed and finally conceded.

Professor Zheng Wei flipped through the student attendance and matched Li Rou’s name to her perfect attendance.
This was because Professor Zheng Wei offered lectures with content that was not tested. It was natural for those lectures to only have a turn-up rate of about 100% on the first session before sharply declining to 10% from their second session onwards as they were a complete waste of precious time. However, Li Rou had attended even those lectures, and with her appearance, how could Professor Zheng Wei not notice her in class.
Holding the student attendance sheet, he quickly made his way to the intercom and summoned Li Rou to the meeting room.
“Can Ms.Li Rou from the Business Studies report to the meeting room immediately?”
The voice over the PA system repeated three times before stopping. Li Rou had a foreboding feeling as she reluctantly made her way towards the meeting room.
When she opened the door to the meeting room, she found everyone’s eyes on her as murmurs of surprise and curiosity ran through the room.
“Why’s her hair so long?”
“Is she purposely hiding her face?”
“How can it possibly be her?”
She hesitantly entered the room and stood by the door.
“Ms. Li Rou, I am Dean Wei of Business Studies. You have been summoned here as Professor Zheng Wei has revealed you to be the recently popular singer on Weibo.” Dean Wei introduced himself as he explained the reason she was called here. However, he had purposefully left out the fact that representatives from the most prestigious musical institutions were hoping to enroll her in their various schools.
“I apologize, I have no knowledge of what you’re talking about as I have not logged on to Weibo for the past week.” Li Rou quickly apologized, she was perplexed by the current situation she was in.

“Li Rou could you sing for us? Just a short verse will suffice.” Professor Zheng Wei asked politely. His request was a surefire way to quickly prove to everyone that she was the singer.
Li Rou nodded her head in agreement as she soon started to sing the same song she had been consistently practicing over the past two weeks. As she sang, everyone’s doubts were cleared as her singing was beautifully eloquent and surpassed even the recorded audio clip. Albeit there were a few minute flaws, but considering she did not have a teacher and was self-taught, her vocals were almost perfect.
“You have wondrous singing talent and ability. Why do you hide in the old music room to practice though?” Professor Zheng Wei asked.
“Hide?” Li Rou was completely baffled by this question.
She was trying to do the opposite of hiding! Li Rou had never intentionally hidden the fact that she could sing well. Instead, Li Rou was desperately hoping people would notice and spread rumors about her so she could gain more points. But from her perspective, the only people to ever notice her singing were Cheng Yu and Zhao Rong! Other than them, there was f*cking nobody!
She needed to stand out to get points yet it always seemed like nothing was happening! And now, here you are, asking her why she was hiding in the old music room?
Li Rou's head ached as she thought to herself, "Are you f*cking kidding me?"

My Failed Reincarnation as a Demon’s Prisoner
When Kayn opened his eyes in the empty void, he was met with a familiar voice and the knowledge that he was neither dead nor alive and about to be reincarnated. What he didn't expect was to reappear in the world of the living and immediately get captured by a clan of demons, now living as their prisoner. After a lucky encounter, Kayn stumbles upon a room that could possibly give him what he needs to free himself from their captivity. But, as he soon finds out, escaping from the demon queen herself isn't the easiest of tasks... **DISCLAIMER**This story attempts to be quite comedic (I don't know if I'm doing a great job at it) and will be more comedy heavy at the start than later on. As the situations Kayn finds himself in become more grave, the story will become serious and less comedy oriented. There will always be comedy throughout, but at some point I do plan on shifting the focus. I'd love to hear everyones opinion on whether the comedy should be kept in full, or dialed back a little so the plot can take centre stage more often. Happy reading!
