Chapter 12- Meeting
Lara and her parents were all sat around the dining table. The atmosphere was tensed and awkward.
“So did this happen often?” Asked Linda calmly, sipping her green tea.
Lara’s face turned a shade of red, shook her head in embarrassment. “No and for the last time, nothing happened. We just slept together in the same bed, that’s all.”
“Ah, so that’s why he was half naked.” Smirked Richard. Laughing at his daughter’s expense. The middle age couple was not angry, they were just curious. After all, Lara’s already at that age. It’s fine for her to be in a relationship as long as the guy is decent.
“Stuff happened. But not what you’re thinking of.” Defended Lara. Her head facing down the table, unable to meet her parents in the eye. ‘Just kill me now’ she thought.
“But why him, I’m sure there are nicer boys. From what I can see, he looks dark and creepy. Why doesn’t he just cut his hair?” ask Linda. Luce is still asleep upstairs, they didn’t wake him up because Lara was pretty insistent not to bother him.
“No. He’s not allowed to cut his hair.” Yelled Lara suddenly. Noticing the volume of her voice, she instantly quieted down and hung her head in shame.
“Oh?” exclaimed her mother, raising an eyebrow at her daughter’s peculiar behaviour.
“I didn’t think, you were into those kind of guys.” Said Richard.
“I’m not.” Said Lara in a small voice. “But, he saved me.” smiled Lara, remembering the memory.
Her parents, forehead creased in worry. “What happened.” Her mother asks.
“I-I was attacked, a- and no one was around. I screamed and I screamed, but still no one came. I thought that was it. But then he came along, chase away the bad guys.” Said Lara timidly. Hands rubbing against each other as she explained.

The middle age couple nodded in understanding. “So that’s how it started.”
“Something like that.” Said Lara.
Just at the moment, footsteps could be heard descending down the staircase. A long haired boy with jet black hair, covering his face appeared. Rubbing his blue eyes sleepily, he yawned, showing his pearly white teeth.
Lara breathes a sigh of relief. ‘His power is sealed again. Good thing I didn’t have to explain why my boyfriend has two canine teeth protruding out of his mouth.’
“Morning.” Beamed Lara, beckoning Luce to come to her.
The parents, remained silent, calmly observing the boy.
“I want to see his face.” Linda blurted out. “If you’re going to be dating him, we need to know what he looks like.”
Richard just nods in agreement, drinking his black coffee calmly.
Lara pouted but, agreed to her parent’s request.
Luce, with his mentality affected by the seal, had no clue what’s going on. He tilted his head in confusion at Lara.
Lara beckoned for him to come again and Luce obliged, sauntering towards her, in measured steps.
“Stay still.” Said Lara softly. She gathered the hair covering his face and tied it with a hair tie.
The parent’s still couldn’t see Luce, because Lara’s back was blocking their view, but as soon as Lara stepped out the way, they gasped in shock.
Linda’s eyes widen, and she giggled in understanding. “So that’s why you didn’t want him to cut his hair.” She smirked at her daughter playfully.
Lara's face turned bright red, hugging the arm of Luce possessively. “Shut up mom.” She mumbled, embarrassed by her mother's response.
“What’s this, he looks so feminine.” Laughed Richard loudly. “You could put a wig on him, some girl clothing and ‘bwalah!’ instant girl. No one would even know the difference. I am willing to bet, he’ll be prettier than you Lara.” Mocked his father.

Lara’s eyes twinkled and grew wide. “Dad, you are a genius.” She muttered darkly.
Luce feels a shiver run down his spine. ‘Lara is being scary again’ he thought.
He pulled his arm, trying to get away from her but she tightened her hold on him, not letting him get away.
*
The family, including Luce, were seated around the dinner table. Richard insisted on sitting next to his daughter’s boyfriend, to try and get to know him better. While Laura was sitting on the other side, with her mother.
“So what’s your name, young man.” Ask Richard.
Luce looked at his hands timidly. “K- Kyran.” He stammered.
‘Oh, yeah. I forgot to ask his name last night. So it’s Kyran huh. I think I prefer calling him Luce though.’ Thought Lara, staring at her boyfriend. Her eyes never leaving him.
Linda’s eyes were also fixed on the peculiar boy. “Lara” she whispered in her daughter’s ears. “I don’t mind taking care of him for you.” She teased, with a wide smile on her face.
“NO!” yelled Lara. “You have dad, he’s mine!” she huffed.
“You’re acting like a child.” Commented her mother nonchalantly, shoving a mouthful of toast bread in her mouth.
“I don’t care.” Replied Lara.
“Women. Am I right?” laughed Richard. Nudging Luce on the arm, while rolling his eyes.
Luce just looked at him, his face looking all innocent and cute. His deep blue eyes, showing that he was confuse at Richard’s statement.
Richard just laughed awkwardly. And begun to eat, the food on his plate.
“Mom. Stop staring at my Luce and wipe that drool off your mouth.” Glared Lara.
