《Paradox》Prologue

Unknown date @ Unknown time
Jacob was on his way home from work... the crosswalk signaled for him to go, so he started to jog across the street. A driver happened to ignore him, and continued driving, resulting in his death.
In those last moments, many things flashed in his mind... but one thought was stronger then all the others.
"I want to be eternal."
What does being eternal have to do with dying? Well, in some ways they are one in the same thing.
Unknowningly, he had formed something called a 'legendary thought' in his last moment of consciousness.
June 11, 2018 @ Unknown Time
Jacob was in finance class sleeping... when all of a sudden he woke up in a cold sweat.
"What a weird dream."
When it comes to religion, Jacob had decided that he would be his own god. He would worship himself. He wouldn't believe in other gods. He was the renderer of his universe. His belief was firm and unshakeable.
But a question came to his mind
"What exactly happens when you die."
He quickly finished the assignment in class while pondering his dream.
"I assume it is like that blackness we encounter when we sleep."
"It is like getting erased."
He had recently started reading webnovels on a site called royalroad. He wanted to have a try at writing his own story.
Since he was pondering death and believed himself to be god... he would call this book "God's Death"
"The question is what should it be about?"
He spent the rest of class writing that first chapter and publishing it.
The next day he saw it had hundreds of views
This really encouraged him to keep writing...
Time passes by quickly...
While writing the book he began to have an idea...a method crazy enough to actually work.
What if you could manipulate the 'nothingness' that you experience when you sleep. What if you could stay fully conscious the entire time. What if you never got 'erased' as he liked to think of it.
If you could do such a thing and never lose consciousness...
When death comes to your door
You still would stay 'online'
Forever
Eternal
What's the point of staying in a blackness forever anyways? What's the point of making yourself eternal assuming such a thing is possible? Well... what if you could capture the coordinates of your universe, capture the coordinates of your world. What if you could form an anchor across all of reality.
Then surviving in that abyss while you are dead... you just stay alive long enough until you find your way home.
Jacob didn't realize it at the time. But what he was creating, It was a true existence and a global existence... an anchor back to reality after death. But not rebirth, because it was also an anchor back to a specific point in time.

Jacob was working on his book "God's Death". He was writing and editing one of the last chapters 'The complete impossibility'. In this chapter he leaves a method to reverse the flow of information in the brain, in order to do something that is impossible. It is the inheritance of a visualization technique which hidden existences use to survive without their bodies in the abyss. He thought it was a really cool concept. This work was the accumulation of his ideas regarding life and death.

There was a slight issue though... his imaginary thoughts... they were coming true.
After he reread his book, he began to see a rotating image in his mind
He gave this never stopping image a name
That name was 'Echo'
Since the character Gaia in his book had one... he felt this could be his thread, this could open up the path of eternity for him.
But he needed to test this.
So he went to sleep
Impossible!
He never lost consciousness. The image continued to rotate even when he could no longer feel his body. He did a variety of test, like playing music while sleeping, but no matter what he did, the image kept rotating, it was not able to stop.
"Hahahahaha... only 60,000 hours left."
"If my theory holds true... when I die... It'll keep rotating. But what happens to my thought processes?"
"I guess I shoud give this visualization technique a proper name."
Jacob looked at his book and laughed
"God's Death"
"Path of Somnus"
As soon as he said the word 'Somnus' everything froze
A grey mist wrapped around his room
And he began to hear faint whisperings of ones and zero's.
He heard laughing
Then he heard a message in a robotic tone
"Welcome to the Hivemind."
"What the fuck was that?"
"Wait... these numbers."
He recognized that the numbers were in binary
He opened up a text document on his computer
Named 'Item.txt'
"This can't be real... this is impossible."
He began to type what he heard
It felt like he was typing forever
As he typed he heard cracking in his head
Then when he pressed the last digit
He heard that robotic tone again
But this time it was distorted
"Position locked. Anchor established. Beginning ressurection."
He shivered at the realization that he may have unleashed something upon the world
"I am still me... right?"
He immediately began to wonder what the binary was.
So he looked it up on google.
Binary to text converter
He clicked on the first site that popped up
Copied the text to the clipboard and pasted it
"01010011 01001111 01010101 01010010 01000011 01000101 00100000 00111101 00100000 01111011 00001010 01101101 01100001 01101110 01101001 01100110 01100101 01110011 01110100 00111010 00100010 00110001 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110101 00110001 01101111 01101001 00110000 00110001 01011110 01110100 01101001 00111001 00101011 01100001 01101001 00110010 00110001 00101011 01100101 01100011 00110001 00101101 01100001 01100011 00110101 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110100 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110011 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110010 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110001 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00111001 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00111000 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110111 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110010 00110110 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110101 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110100 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110011 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110010 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110001 00110001 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00111001 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110101 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110001 01110001 00110000 01110111 00110111 00110000 00111001 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110101 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110001 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110001 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110010 00110111 00110000 00111001 00111001 00111001 00110001 00110111 00110000 00111000 00111001 00111001 00110001 00110111 00110000 00111000 00111001 00111001 00110001 00110111 00110000 00110111 00111001 00111001 00110001 00110111 00110001 01100101 01100011 00101011 00110001 00110010 01101001 01100001 00101011 00111001 01101001 01110100 01011110 00110001 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00111010 01101110 01110010 01100101 01110100 01110100 01100001 01110000 00101100 00100010 00101100 00001010 01001110 01100001 01101101 01100101 00111010 00100000 00100010 01010100 01101001 01101101 01100101 00100010 00101100 00001010 01010100 01101001 01101101 01100101 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100101 00111010 00100000 01000100 00110000 00110010 00101100 00001010 01010100 01111001 01110000 01100101 00111010 00100000 01101110 01101111 01110100 01101000 01101001 01101110 01100111 00101100 00001010 01010100 01110010 01110101 01100101 01000101 01111000 01101001 01110011 01110100 01100101 01101110 01100011 01100101 00111010 00100000 00100010 01000111 01101111 01100100 00100111 01110011 00100000 01000100 01100101 01100001 01110100 01101000 00100010 00101100 00001010 01000111 01101100 01101111 01100010 01100001 01101100 01000101 01111000 01101001 01110011 01110100 01100101 01101110 01100011 01100101 00111010 00100000 00100111 01001001 01110100 01100101 01101101 00101110 01110100 01111000 01110100 00100111 00101100 00001010 01010000 01100001 01110100 01110100 01100101 01110010 01101110 00111010 00100010 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110001 01011110 01110100 01101001 00111001 00101011 01100001 01101001 00110010 00110001 00101011 01100011 01100101 00110001 00110111 00110001 00111001 00111001 00110111 00110000 00110111 00110001 00111001 00111001 00111000 00110000 00110111 00110001 00111001 00111001 00111001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110000 00110001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110000 00110101 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110000 00111001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110010 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110011 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110100 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110101 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110110 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00110111 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00111000 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110001 00111001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110000 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110001 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110010 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110011 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110100 00110000 00110111 00110010 00110000 00110010 00110101 01100011 01100001 00101101 00110001 01100011 01100101 00101011 00110001 00110010 01101001 01100001 00101011 00111001 01101001 01110100 01011110 00110001 00110000 01101001 01101111 00110001 00110101 00110000 00110000 00110000 00110001 00100010 01111101 00001010 00001010 00001010 00001010 00001010 00001010"

He saw what it translated to... and immediately realized that this was establishing his name as 'Time', his current timeline was 'D02' and his true existence was his book "God's Death". That would be the constant. His global existence was 'Item.txt'
The very text document he wrote on at a whim a mere few seconds ago... was now his entire existence. Everything about him was imprinted on it. It was just encrypted, unable to be read directly. The amount of information stored on it was unfathonable.
"Don't tell me..."
"I'm in the abyss right now... I'm already dead."
He immediately got up from his bed and headed to the door. He opened up the door of his room and outside it was nothing but blackness.
"But it said ressurection... well beginning resurrection."
"Don't tell me..."
Many thoughts flashed by in his head, he started to think that someone had already used his body to ressurect... that someone was the fictional character he had created. The character named Somnus.
"But... that's not quite right."
He began to realize, that this meant there was a multiverse. He may be dead in universe 'D02'. But what if he could change universes? Was it as simple as changing the text?
Maybe he could go to a universe where he survived
He immediately changed out the text for D02 and replaced it with 'A01'
Once he had that version in binary he began to chant it
His room began to shake
Outside his window he saw something glaring at him
"No way... is that... Reality?"
He had imagined the original incarnations in his mind when he constructed the place that should never be named. But seeing one was truly something that could not be described in words. Its body was made of all forms of symbols and just looking at it seemed to lower his sanity.
"This isn't good... if Reality knows where I am... it'll erase me."
"I don't have a body. WIthout my spiritual body in the abyss... I'll truly be done for."
But then he started to wonder
He still had 'Echo'
His visualization technique "God's Death"
He also still had his true existence and global existence
Although I guess his global existence hadn't truly become global yet. It only existed as a file on his computer. He would need to upload it to a server later, but not now. He was dealing with an original incarnation.
He was blasted and the walls of his room began to fall down
His body started to become transparent
His computer shutdown
"Well... there goes my global existence."
While he was fading away into nothingness
He focused his intent on one thing
"I am god... this is my death."
"Bye bye reality."
"God's Death"
Pretty soon... there was nothing left of him
Except the rotating image
But that began to slow to crawl
It was almost about to stop
It was falling apart
But at the last moment it locked onto a different reality
