《The Kathaldi Chronicles》Ch. 92 - A Quick Recap of Book One

As the chapter name indicates this will be a quick recap of what I wrote about in Children of Kathaldi. It is not a substitute for reading Children of Kathaldi. It is just a refresher. If you haven’t read Children of Kathaldi it probably won’t make a lot of sense. Maybe you should go buy Children of Kathaldi and give it a quick read so you can catch up.

If you have read Children of Kathaldi you shouldn’t even need this. Try using your memory.

Either way, here goes:

I am Dirk. I am hilarious and a great guy. That’s not me saying those things. That’s what people tell me all the time. Almost all of the time. Well, a lot of the time. Anyway, my childhood friend, and still probably my best friend, Thilos, who grew up to be a King’s Warder, discovered that the Kathaldi are real and that they still exist and have infiltrated the entire Mindolan Peninsula at many levels. That made those very same Kathaldi people want to kill him before he could tell anyone else. He came to me for help in getting to Aandarvi to ask the High Mages’ Council, the leaders of the King’s Warders, and the top Knights of Anathar (basically, the most powerful people in the world that he could think of) for help stopping the Kathaldi from starting another cataclysm. That’s where the gods will kill a lot of the rest of us in their haste to try to kill all of the Kathaldi. Along the way a bunch of my friends were killed by the Kathaldi. And Thilos fell in love.

We also learned that another Drant War is imminent, you know, the ones where they try to kill everybody else on the peninsula. Humans, elves, dwarves, half-bloods, lords, peasants - everybody.

We did finally make it to Aandarvi, and we did tell all of those powerful people about the Kathaldi, and the drants. The bad part was that a bunch of them already knew about it because they were Kathaldi. So, we had a big fight where lots more good guys died. So did a ton of Kathaldi but those guys are evil so who cares how many of them got killed?

In the end, the Kathaldi brought the building, the one we were all in at the time, (even the Kathaldi!) down on everyone, which, as you might imagine, killed almost all of them. Four of us, and some elves, barely managed to escape.

The end.

I think you should be all caught up. Oh yeah, Imprid, Thilos’ girlfriend, broke one of her arms during the escape from the collapsing building, but she didn’t make a big deal about it. Tough lady. I like her.
