Chapter 15 The Union
In a large metal room, a man stood nervously in the middle of it. He was standing right in front of a cylindrical object that reached knee height. He stood there waiting for several minutes, before the cylindrical object started shining. Suddenly a hologram shot up from the cylinder. It was the figure of a man wearing a gold embroidered cloak, standing at least two heads taller than the man, although a lot of that was becuase of the hologram machine.
“Report” the figure said sternly. “Y-yes sir, task team 1 managed to successfully capture the wolf and the beast. Your new nerve agent worked perfectly, the target was unable to transform and was swiftly subdued. However, TT-1 was damaged in the fight, even in human form the beast managed to dent his facial exoskeleton” the man reported.
After that figure heard the report, one could very obviously see his glee. “Haha, this is great. Seventh is going to be so jealous when he hears I managed to capture a living bloodline holder, a werewolf no less. Its good to see that shithead Molotov was at least a little bit useful. Also call in one of fourth’s repair teams to take a look at TT-1. What is the status of the beast?” the figure responded.
“He is currently on the operation table, ready for your inspection sir. We are constantly pumping tranquilizers into him, to keep him sedated. The wolf has been locked up and is sedated at regular intervals” the man answered. “Very good, I will be there in just a few hours. Keep a tight watch over him until I get there. Oh, and by the way, Ringneck will be on his way. One can’t be too careful” the figure responded before the hologram fizzled out. “R-Ringneck!?” the man stammered with his heart in his throat. He had never met this legendary figure, only heard of his prowess.
After a few hours went by, four doctors clad in full operating gear were standing around an unconscious John. The room had glass walls on three sides, while the last side had painted concrete. However, one story above that concrete wall was an angled mirror, overlooking the operating table. This was of course a one-way mirror.
John was locked in place with sturdy metal shackles, around all his appendages and his neck. The four doctors looked at the one-way mirror, seemingly waiting for confirmation. Suddenly the same voice of that figure played over the loudspeakers “Begin extracting the bloodline”. Behind that mirror stood the sixth elder. “damn that Ringneck, what is taking him so long? He should have been here by now. We will just have to start without him” the elder said begrudgingly.
The scientist quickly began working, from the way they were moving one could tell they were very good at this. They swiftly started cutting open Johns chest and open his rib cage. Although they were professionals they still needed to be careful. The sixth elder wanted to obtain John’s bloodline but he also wanted to know what happened to the person after they removed the bloodline. So, they couldn’t just outright kill John. They also weren’t sure if they could harvest a bloodline from a dead person, since this was the first bloodline holder they had gotten their hands on.

As such, they continued with their procedure until they reached the heart. With the bypass machine ready, the surgeon got ready to connect it to John’s heart. However, when his scalpel touch the artery going into the heart, he got a sudden electric shock and swiftly pulled his hand away.
John’s eyes shot open. Hair started growing on him rapidly and the incision in his chest as well as his ribcage closed at an extreme speed it was like someone zipped up a zipper. John very swiftly transformed and broke the shackles binding him to the table. At first, he got up and looked around confused and then he remembered what happened. seeing the four terrified doctors around him, he could guess what happened. Although these four men were not evolved in any way, John was still furious at them
John swiped out with one of his massive arms and directly cut one of them on two, sending his bisected body parts flying towards another one of the doctors. The force of John’s swipe was so strong that the bisected man pushed the other one and they both flew through one of the glass walls. John made quick work of the other two doctors. They had messed with the wrong werewolf.
When John had just started transforming, the elder had gotten quite the scare. “I can’t stay here, dammit, fuck, shit” the elder exclaimed angrily while John was transforming. Next to him stood two guards that looked eerily alike. The elder turned to one of them and said angrily “Tell the pilot to start spooling up the chopper, we are leaving” the guard simply nodded. The elder turned around getting ready to leave, however instead of running, that elder simply turned into a cloud with a face.
The cloud looked to be formed from very dense smoke. The elder silently started floating up the stairs at a rapid speed, with his guards in tow. John was just about done with his rampage at this time. John quickly started running around different rooms, everyone of them filled with various kinds of equipment and sometimes scientist, which he of course killed.
He knew round about where Luna was because of their connection, however she was unconscious and this place was a maze. After a while John got tired of it and simply started smashing through walls. As he is now, John can cut through steel like it is butter, smashing through a couple concrete walls is no problem for him.
Eventually John found Luna, guarded by two men. Although they weren’t really guards, they looked like scientist. They also looked quite different. John swiftly dispatched them and got Luna. John slung Luna over his shoulder and swiftly made his way back towards that operating room. While looking for Luna he had found a staircase that said: “Surface level”. John, with Luna slung across his shoulder almost flew up the stairs.
All this time, John was lamenting over how stupid he was. How could he have let his guard down like that? It wasn’t only himself he was putting in danger but also Luna. One moment of relaxation had almost cost him his life. Staying on high alert all the time was incredibly taxing on the brain, all he wanted was a moment of time where he could enjoy mother nature as a human. He vowed to never do something that stupid again. Now he would always stay vigilant no matter how taxing it was.

John eventually made it to the surface level. John wasn’t to interested in the scenery. He just wanted to get out of this unfamiliar place as quickly as possible. As such he rushed out the first door that smelled like forest and greenery.
John quickly made his way outside, there he saw a couple cars driving away. However, that isn’t what caught his attention. In the air, several hundred yards away was a buzzing chopper. John had a feeling, whoever was in that chopper was responsible for all this. Fury rose in his chest when he though about the person that had fucked him over like that. With his left hand, John quickly formed a dark spear and threw it at the chopper with all his might.
Inside the chopper, the elder was looking out the open door of the chopper at the werewolf below. When he saw him, he was furious that such a fine specimen wouldn’t be his to toy with. However, he learned something very valuable, John's bloodline and probably all others had an automatic self-defense system built in. this would be very useful for his future experiments.
However, as he was thinking about this, he saw the werewolf, John, holding a long black thing. He got a bad feeling from seeing this thing in John’s hand. “Evasive maneuvers” he screamed to the pilot. He saw John throw that gigantic thing just as the pilot maneuvered. In a fraction of a second that spear had made its way over to them. The elder only saw a black line fly right next to the chopper. The elder got a cold sweat when thinking of the speed that spear had, luckily it missed.
John looked as he just barely missed the chopper, he wasn’t completely accustomed to throwing this spear yet. Coupled with the evasive maneuvers of the pilot, it had missed. John watched the spear fly of into the sky, disappearing out of sight. Considering the energy drain of one of these things, John decided to not throw another one. He only watched as the chopper flew away.
Inside the chopper, the elder was looking attentively at John, waiting for another spear. However, nothing came. The elder felt he could finally wipe away the cold sweat on his forehead. That was too close. “Call up Ringneck and tell him the beast is loose” the elder told one of the guards. The guard simply nodded and then looked blankly for a while. Eventually the guard reported back in a very stiff voice “cannot connect to agent Ringneck, unable to establish a line of communication”. “Damn tin cans” the elder murmured.
John didn’t know where to go, so he went with the safest option: follow the road. After following the road for a while he, eventually arrived at an interstate that was not to far away from bullet town. Luckily, he had been here before, he sort of knew where he was. John started running in the direction of the bullet town. After John had evolved his speed had increased by almost 50 percent. He guessed he was now moving at around 100 or so mph. Since he was carrying Luna it went a bit slower, he could probably go even faster.
John didn’t want to run on the highway, since it wasn’t as comfortable. He instead opted to run on the side of the road, where there was grass, a few yards away from the road. Suddenly he noticed something. On the opposite side of the road, a man was walking in the opposite direction. This man was carrying a massive sword over his shoulder, John guessed it must at least be 6 feet long, if not longer. He was wearing a pair of dull blue jeans, no shoes, a plain shirt and a baseball cap backwards.
He was looking at John. However, at the speed John was moving at their gaze only lasted for a few seconds. Even so, John could tell just from his gaze, that this man was incredibly dangerous. If they were to face off one on one, John wasn’t sure if he could win.
The man looked at John, he looked uncertain, as if he wasn’t sure whether to attack or not. Alas as John passed him, he no longer had the chance. John didn’t dare stop, he gave 110 percent and got away from there as quickly as he could. Eventually the swordsman turned around and continued leisurely walking down the road, like he had no worries in the world.
After that fearful encounter, John quickly made his way towards bullet town, arriving after a few hours. He directly took Luna into the doctor’s office. Kyle also arrived at the doctor's office after a short while. Many people had of course taken note of the gigantic werewolf storming through bullet town, so Kyle had quickly been informed. Luckily people recognized John and didn’t open fire.
Alice helped heal Luna, although she had no obvious wounds, it wouldn’t hurt to try. While Alice was taking care of Luna, John told Kyle about what had happened. Of course, Kyle berated John for being an overconfident dumbass. However, as they say: “hindsight is 20/20”. John felt quite embarrassed, he would never make that mistake again.

I Was Reincarnated as Someone's Mana??
My name is Magnus Karlsson, and by a series of rather unfortunate events that I had absolutely no say in, I was killed and reincarnated. In this story, you will follow Magnus as he tries his very best to survive in a world that's been thrown into chaos, together with the man whose mana he is, Allan Woodsworth. Well, not a man per se, more of a little boy who has no idea what the fuck is going on, but, you know... I'm sure it'll be fine. Nothing bad will happen to the pair. Nope. No abandoned kids here. Anyhow. The world that Magnus has been thrown into is one perversed by the will of a great mage who, three thousand years ago, decided that it would be a great idea to infuse all the people of the earth with so-called "orbs". These magical crystals allow their handler to control and generate mana, which they can then use to become mages. Most barely use them, since the mana cost of doing such a little thing as a fireball spell is absolutely ridiculous. Said mage, Theodore Cromwell, Magnus used his resources to infuse not only humans with orbs, but animals as well, giving rise to what the mage community calls "horrid perversions of nature", but what the common folk calls "monsters". Orbs can be used for much, and it is through orbs that people keep track on their level of mana and such, and destroying the orb of a monster is A, the only way to kill it and B, a good way to absorb extra mana and raise ones level. It is such an orb that Magnus has been tranformed into. ------ To those that care, I'm very sorry about the title, it's just that, well, it's very good to be blunt about isekais like this since people such as myself search precisely for this, so having super-serious names like "The Magnus of the World of Orbs" would turn people wanting a simple and fun isekai off. I hope you give this story a fair chance! ------ Edit: IWRASM now has a deviantart page!!! https://www.deviantart.com/thefunartcorner

I was inspired to create this story after reading the Scale Dungeon, by TheSilverGunner, here on RRL. It is a good story, despite having only a few chapter out at the time of writing this.
