15 minutes before the total power failure.
Two men walk into the engineering bay. The first man is wearing a security uniform, and the second man is wearing an engineering jumpsuit. Both men are talking while walking up to the printer bays.
Engineer
"so what was so important that you had to drag me down here."
Security officer
"I need an engineering tablet to pause this print so that I can add a component to it before the box finished printing."
Engineer
"Yeah, I can do that one sec. The Engineer pulls out a tablet and plugs it into the printer. After pressing a few buttons the printer stops and the door unlocks. He then says"so what were you printing anyways."
Security officer
"I was printing an AI assist module for my EXO armor."
Engineer
"your armor already comes with a basic AI. But why would you need an AI module unless you're planning on adding an AI core?"
Security officer
"My granddad got an AI core from the artificial intelligence research and development building. When he worked, there is a security guard."
Engineer
"Seriously that place was shut down after they had completed their first test. I heard their core completely failed The combat testing."
Security officer
He pulled a box out of one of his pockets and said."Granddad said they didn't fail the test they passed it with flying colors to the point where it became a national secret. When they ran the combat tests, they had one combat avatar versus 200 inside an urban environment. Now most tests get a passing grade if they can take out five combat avatars controlled by a basic AI. When they ran the test on this guy, he managed to take out all the drones with a combat knife. We came back inside and was asked why he only the knife. He said,"you told me to take out all the drones with as little collateral damage as possible. Figured you also didn't want the drones to be damage to."
Engineer
"there AI could also talk?"
Security officer
"Yeah. So when my grandpa heard they were classifying all the equipment he to get the core before they lock it up in a safe, never to be seen again."

The security officer finished opening the box and pulled out a small AI core wrapped in paper.
Engineer
"that's the biggest AI crystal I've ever seen."
"was unable to get a clear view of the core."
Security officer
"this is the first time I've had access to a molecular printer. So I can now make a custom case for the core."
Engineer
"is going to be the first time you powered on."
Security officer
"even my grandpa never had the equipment to properly make a module for it."
The security officer finished putting something in the printer and closed it.
Klaxons began going off throughout the whole ship, while a voice began announcing over the speakers. "Warning power failure detected all hands to escape pods. All hands to escape pods."
Both crewmates turned to each other and then sprinted towards the door before leaving the room.

Said mage, Theodore Cromwell, Magnus used his resources to infuse not only humans with orbs, but animals as well, giving rise to what the mage community calls "horrid perversions of nature", but what the common folk calls "monsters". Orbs can be used for much, and it is through orbs that people keep track on their level of mana and such, and destroying the orb of a monster is A, the only way to kill it and B, a good way to absorb extra mana and raise ones level. It is such an orb that Magnus has been tranformed into. ------ To those that care, I'm very sorry about the title, it's just that, well, it's very good to be blunt about isekais like this since people such as myself search precisely for this, so having super-serious names like "The Magnus of the World of Orbs" would turn people wanting a simple and fun isekai off.
