《Quest is not for sorceress》001: The Wicked Sorcerer

“Mia, you little ungrateful wretch! Come out here and explain to me what this is?!,” roared Edgar. He stormed into the bedroom next door.
The whole cottage shivered in fear.
Miss Longlegg and her fellow spider family had long escaped to the garden on the day they learned about the disaster she had done. The glasses on the shelves trembled, clinking and clanking against each other.
“Oh, pumpkin! The Kraken is awake!” Mia blurted, her eyes wide opened the second she heard Edgar shouted out her name.
Mia.
It was a beautiful name. The only inheritance she received from her parents, whose whereabouts were unknown.
Panic, she got down on her hands and knees and crept under the bed. A pair of eyes stared at her, displeased with her sudden appearance.
“Shhhh!” Mia whispered and held a finger in front of her lips.
Her eyes locked at the approaching pair of legs storming into her bedroom. The floor creaked with every step he took. The pair of legs halted, right next to her bed.
Achoo!
"Damn dust, stay where you are if you still want to live another day, or I’ll sweep you clean,” Mia whispered. Her itchy nose rebelled against her and the dust above her head giggled at her misery.
“MIA! COME. OUT. NOW! ” Edgar roared again.
Hidden under the bed, Mia was glad that it was his feet she had to stare and not his fiery face.
She was positive that he had steam coming out of his ears. Or worse, fire.
Her heart was pumping hard and her breath threatened to leave her. Mia swore she heard the footsteps of her death approaching. But then again, maybe not.
Edgar's wrath was terrifying that it can drive away even the Grimm. They weren’t that crazy as Mia to court death so soon.
“Mia... not he'e. I is not Mia.” Said Mia the liar with a hoarse voice, hoping that the voice-changing spell can spare her life.
“If you are not Mia, then who are you?” Said Edgar. He dragged a mahogany chair over the hardwood and sat down, loud screeching sound filled the room.
“I’m – I’m – I’m the monster under the bed,” Said Mia, her voice quavered as she spoke.
Entertained by her lies, the dust giggles and chuckles.
“If you’re the monster under the bed, then who is this monster sleeping on the bed?!” Edgar snapped. He reached into his pocket and took out a watch. Not a single number or hands visible on the watch, but instead a line of words that said, ‘It’s almost time to lose patience.’

His eyes moved to the black monster laying on the bed. He was trembling with fears, black tears rolled down his face. His grip on the tattered mermaid-silk quilt tightened. He bit the quilt with his sharp teeth, the sound of his chattering teeth resound in the room.
“That’s – the monster above the bed…” Mia muttered.
Damn, I can't believe I forgot the crybaby.
“Enough with your nonsense, Mia. You're not six years old, you’re sixteen. Come out now before Baddie ruins the quilt,” Edgar snapped, his eyes locked on the bed as if he was facing his mortal enemy. “If you don’t come out in a count of three, I will bewitch this bed and let it kick you out.”
“No, you can’t!” Mia yelled.
“Yes, I can and I will. One, two –“Edgar smirked as he count.
“Three! I’m out!” Mia rolled out from under the bed.
Spiderwebs and dust covered her brown hair. Mia knelt on the floor and hugged his leg tight as if her life depended on it. She rubbed her head on his leg, smearing his perfect black pants with dust.
With a voice full of regrets, she begged. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry dear Master!”
Fake tears rolled down her face. This wasn't the first time she had infuriated him, and certainly not the last.
Almost there.
“So you know what you did wrong?” Asked Edgar. He shook his leg, but Mia was determined to not let go. Seeing her crying and begging on the floor, his anger gradually dissapitated. His tone was calmer and pleasant to her ears.
"I think – you look great, Master. You look like the most handsome sorcerer ever alive!” Mia praised the sorcerer whose white blouse dyed in pink. Her golden eyes gleamed with both lies and relief.
Mia knew this moment would come.
She had forecast it since the day she stood under the stars and planet to plot her destiny chart. She had foreseen her fate on the day she gazed at the magical orb.
It was one of the hardest days to past by, living each day in fear like a prisoner waiting for her death sentence.
“Mia, I have always been the most handsome sorcerer ever alive…” Edgar claimed confidently, his fingers brushing his hair and touching his face. “…and perhaps the stupidest sorcerer for taking an apprentice like you. But forget about it. We are discussing my blouse, not my beautiful face. What have you done with my blouse?”

“Didn’t you know, pink is the hottest color in trend now?” Mia murmured. She was still glued to his leg, refusing to let go.
“Enough! Come down with me,” Edgar snapped and shook his leg harder, this time really intending to kick off the girl. He turned to Baddie who had almost finished chewing the third quilt he bought in a month and scolded him. “...and you, stop ruining the quilt with your snort and get under the bed!”
When he finally got rid of the girl hanging on his leg, he stormed back to his room. A while later he appeared in another white blouse.
“See... It’s not that you don’t have another white blouse…” Mia murmured under her breath and trailed behind him as they walked down the stairs.
“That’s my favorite blouse, I look good in it,” Said Egar. He fixed his clothes and hair once more as they walked down the stairs. “Well, it’s not that I can’t get another apprentice, and don’t you dare to kick me down the stairs, Mia. If I die, I will haunt you every night.”
“Hehehe...” Mia let out an awkward giggle and withdrew her leg.
I swear by the name of Sir Skeleton, this wicked sorcerer have eyes behind his head.
“By the time I come back, I want my blouse white,” Said Edgar. He reached for his staff propped against the fireplace and strode to the front door. As his hand touched the doorknob, he turned around and glared at Mia. "Don’t burn down the cottage.”
With a ‘whatever’ attitude, Mia shrugged her shoulder and watched Edgar disappeared into thin air. She slammed the door closed and celebrated her victory with a dance all the way to the kitchen.
Soon, her horrible singing replaced the raging morning. It was way worse than the shrieking siren that the little spiders had changed their minds and extended their holidays in the garden.
♬ Tralala lala Clarostis goes my eggs! ♬
♬ Tralala lala Serestus goes my pot ♬
The pot clanked and the eggs sizzled in the pan. Soon, the horrible smell of burnt eggs filled the whole kitchen. Her lips curved upwards, pleased with her talent. Ah, perfect. Just the way Baddie loved it.
“Baddie, come down for breakfast!!”
It was a beautiful day, she had survived her master's wrath.
Mia tore a piece of bread and fed the birds, spiders, and the ants in the garden. Come and join me in this gratitude breakfast party, she wailed.
"Ah, yes. Come and enjoy the sumptuous banquet this beautiful lady had prepared," Mia said to Baddie who floated to the kitchen. She pulled a chair and invited him to sit.
Baddie stared at the serving of foods on the table; Bread, bacon, butter, jam and to his dismay - horrible black burnt eggs. Where is sumptuous banquet Mia was talking about? He couldn't help but look under the table.
Baddie was a monster under the bed who lived with Edgar longer than she did. He used to haunt Edgar until Edgar pulled him out from under the bed. Ah, there goes the reputation of his whole family! Ruined by Edgar's bravery and his cowardice.
Baddie, despite his creepy appearance and sharp tooth, was Mia's only friend.
Well, she couldn’t consider Edgar as her friend, could she?
Edgar was her master, after all, and she was his apprentice he picked up on the street when she was six years old. Oh, if only he knew what blasphemy the girl would bring. He would probably pack his suitcase and hide in another continent, but it was too late now. Mia clung to his thigh like a koala every time he mentioned his miserable choice and hid around the cottage when she did a horrible mistake.
Meow!
Mia turned to the cat basking under the sun next to the glass window. Ah, yes, she had another friend! A ginger, tabby cat who appeared at their front door with a small bundle of clothes attached to a stick.
“I’m yours.” Said Oyen as he invited himself into the cottage that strange stormy night.
Since that day, the dwelling of The Wicked Edgar Dendragon the Great Sorcerer mad fell into great misery; Edgar with his daily fuming and outbreak, Mia pleading for justice, Baddie crying whenever he was kicked out from under the bed, and Oyen hitting Mia’s head with a stick when he had enough of her nonsense attitude.
Mia smiled at Baddie who wore a frown on his face as he swallowed down the burnt fried eggs. He hated that. It disgusted him. But poor Baddie never dares to tell her. It was a terrible mistake he did once – It was the first time Mia cooked, and she made burnt eggs. A lifetime suffering hex Mia jinxed on him. Do you like the egg, Baddie? She said.
He nodded.

8 196The Blessed Princess
Long long ago, there was a time of eternal harmony, when pain and anguish ceased to exist. The world was united as one under the rule of a glorious goddess. But this goddess made a stupid mistake, and chaos rained through her lands. Her people fought and fought, and she lost control over her creations. To sustain peace, she destroyed herself, and her remnants scattered throughout the lands and into the souls of her people. Her last words were to her daughter, the goddess of love, whom she had cherished, "Though I cannot fix the mistakes I've made, I can wish my people to be happy. No more endless pain. No more raging wars. Love, please. Save my world. Restore hope into the eyes of those I've created." She became the forgotten goddess after her world lost its ruler. First Princess Azulia was born a human with a shocking resemblance to the forgotten goddess. Her hair was ink black, and her eyes glimmered like priceless sapphires. Her features were uncanny in similarity to the goddess, even in the way she held herself. Though the goddess's eyes were more like icicles, Azulia's resemblance was enough to make you think twice. Azulia was raised with the mindset that she would be the future Empress of Hydrangea. It was a destiny placed out in front of her and carefully sorted out. Those around her directed her life like a pawn. Until one day, comes the beak of time, and her destiny points in another direction. Azulia must learn to break the tension her family shapes and create a destiny of her own. Her world depends on it, even if it means she must destroy herself.

"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)
