《Chronicles of Sora: Ruler of Rules》Re: Chapter 1.2 - Name of that game?

If anyone expected me to switch to panic mode then they are dead wrong. Just because Enma's butler, the teachers or students say that there is no Enma, doesn't mean I have to believe them. I am suspecting this is some kind of elaborate prank by Enma where he has paid off everyone to deny his existence to me.

I mean he is rich so its not impossible to imagine a prank of this scale all for the purpose of getting my attention.

My attention…. Yeah, I better explain this bit to you all.

Enma is like this innocent lamb which gets bullied a lot by girls and guys alike. He his super cute and can almost be mistaken for a girl. Apparently before I moved into town, Enma was being picked on.

Now, I don’t understand why people bully. I believe not stopping bullying is also the same as bullying. Simply worded, my sense of justice would not stand up for someone being bullied.

I did what came to me naturally; I stopped the bullying. I walked right up to a bunch of boys who were at the time stripping Enma and asked them to stop.

The result was as expected; four versus one.

I ended up losing my clothes. It was an all-out brawl; one where I was beaten bad. But that suited me just fine, the next day all four students were suspended.

However, I after I showed my parents a gash above my eye the matter escalated far more than anyone could have imagined. It became a huge row and when inquiries were made - hence Enma’s bullying was also revealed….his parents took complaining to a whole new level; suddenly there was the Ministry of Education probing the school staff and governance, a committee was formed to suspend the teacher in charge at the time of duty and immediate replacement of the principal…from the many rumours I gathered that the parents of those bullying students lost their jobs. Enma and I were never bullied since then….thus Enma has a soft spot for me…or so I think.

He used to even give weird looks sometimes - it made me want to throw up.

I guess that was too much information, what I wanted to point out was that Enma was weird, rich and powerful - not the best combination but we all have seen worse, right?

He certainly is well connected and if you can imagine if such a child were to go missing from just playing a game all hell would break loose.

This is not some fictional fantasy world where people just disappear. This is reality where laws of physics must always hold - you can never run faster than the speed of light, energy must always be conserved and people don't just disappear into thin air. Get the picture?

This is my view point about every affair in life - there is always an explanation behind why anything and everything occurred - it is up to us as characters of this world to be able to see the dots and make the connection....

Hence, my rational brain told me not to worry but my instincts were guiding me otherwise. Either ways, after the holidays the mystery would be cleared up - patience is something which I possess an infinite amount of. Everyone would take notice if a bishounen were suddenly missing in class.

Summer holidays zipped by, I returned back to class and sadly no one noticed Enma.

Maybe everyone thought he was unwell and hence absent. One day went by….two and then three…before I knew it a whole month went by and Enma never turned up to class even once.

Suspicious….too suspicious.

I checked with others but no one seemed to remember him, at some point my classmates thought I had become delusional.

When I talked to them about the bullying incident they said I was the one whose parents got the principal fired! What a load of bull crap.

Either I was losing my mind or Enma was a figment of my imagination. I thus decided to run a test. I jotted down everyone’s version of the bullying incident and then spoke to my parents about it later in the evening.

What was I looking for?

Inconsistencies.

It was surprisingly easy to find. The student version of the story was that my parent’s exercised their influence and got the principal fired. My parent’s version was that the principal with a guilty conscience resigned.

My conclusion? Memory alteration.

Out of this world answer right?

As someone once said once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

Memory alteration is not impossible, at least I can think of ways it could be done using today’s technology. Though my understanding is that it can’t be replicated on a mass level such as this….but you never know with these military guys…these fanatics always come up with something new…

So Enma got himself involved in something 'big' and now there is no more Enma. “Everyone who played this game completely disappeared.” I muttered to myself. Based on everything I know the only way to find Enma and would be playing Ruler of Rules and learning the truth once and for all. Heck, like I going to be so stupid to walk into a game that just swallowed up my friend’s existence.

If this is a military programme, like hell I am going to step into it blindly. I’ll step into it with a bit more preparation!
