《Unleash the beast》Chapter 3: Goblin genocide

"I choose pathway 2!"
I can't be a shadow wolf now, while using illusions and speed does seem appealing. With all the dangerous beasts in this forest, I'm sure almost all of them will be faster.
Also, illusions and tricks can only get you so far, the second I run into an enemy who is smart enough to see past my tricks I'll be turned into a fur coat. And while I sure I would make a pretty damn fine fur coat, being alive feels much better.
So the only choice for me so far is to get better defence so I can't be killed too easily, not to mention the fact that I am a martial artist, so instead of magic for now I will focus on my strong points.
But I am getting the feeling that I will eventually end up with shadow magic wether I like it or not...
----------------------------------------------------
Evolution will commence in ten minutes
Recommended that you find a safe place for you will be vulnerable while evolving
---------------------------------------------------
Will do, Mr pop-up window sir
I rush as fast as I can to my den, tear up some shrubs an barely manage to squeeze through my opening, then I place the shrubs at the entrance to hide my den. I can't have some player walking in and seeing a sleeping beauty like me.
Then I get in a comfortable position and my world turns black as soon as the timer hits 0:00.
I then proceed to have a dream about chewing on bones....
*Later that day
When I wake up I'm greeted by the darkness of my cave, I decide to see if there are any changes to my body so I try to stand up.
*THUD*
Ouch, I hit my head on the roof. Wait, since when was I that large?
The roof was at least a whole meter above me before, that must mean I am a little over 2m tall just on all fours!
I know wolves have large growth spurts, but wow.
I crawl over to the entrance which now looks impossibly small.
'Well shit' I thought.
*several minutes later
Once I had finally a clawed myself out of the now minuscule hole I took a deep breath of the cold night air.
'Looks like I need a new den' I thought to myself.
I caught wind of several monsters nearby, so I took away from them in the direction of the lake so I could get a good look at myself in all my gigantic glory.
As soon as I left the ground I flew about 10 feet at an unbelievable speed straight through a tree.
After i ploughed through the tree I hit the tree behind it and smashed into it with a loud THUD.
Surprisingly that didn't even hurt, I guess my body was quite sturdy with the steel fur. I then out if curiosity clawed the tree, which nearly cut it in half.
I have concluded that my claws were very sharp, and my fur is extremely tough.
After this I ran in the direction of the lake, slowly getting faster and faster. Getting used to my new speed and strength.
Once I reached the lake and looked at my reflection a beautiful and deadly looking wolf greeted me, yes that wolf was me. And what a sexy beast I was.
I had a pristine silver coat with streaks of white and black running through it. The majority of my back was black where'as my sides where mostly white. My face was a mixture of white silver and black.
My lean legs were a glorious white colour, and my eyes were deep blue like the sky.
To describe me in one sentence was be 'Beautiful and dangerous'. Dang, the lady wolves will come running with a body like this.
He looks just like this: http://www.3d-hdwallpaper.com/bulk_images/desktop-wolf-art-wallpaper.jpg
Come to think of it, apart from my family I haven't seen many other wolves have I? I'll have to investigate later. but for now I should test our my new abilities and stats.
'Open status'
--------------------------------------------
Name: Fenrir Race: steel wolf (variant)
Level: 8 Strength: 65
Agility: 60 Wisdom: 15
Intelligence: 15 Stamina: 55
Dexterity: 40 Physical resistance: 30%
Magic defence: 20%
Magic affinities: darkness 50%
Ice 50%
----------------------------------------------
Hmm, it seems that the evolution has affected all my stats, and even given me new ones. I'm pretty sure I didn't have dexterity before, or physical resistance.
It seems I also lost half my darkness affinity, but gain a new affinity. Maybe it will show itself when I evolve a second time.
Then I remembered the vital things that were in every RPG almost ever, maybe since I evolved I would have gained some.
'Open skills'
-----------------------------------------------------------
Steel fur (passive) level 1 beginner
This ability raises the defence properties of your fur, it also makes it nice and warm during the cold seasons. Most weak physical blows will bounce right off, however powerful blows will only retain 70% of their original power. It is the same with magic attacks, however they will retain 80% of their original power.
Current effects
Physical: 30%
Magical: 20%
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Steel claw/fang (passive) level 1 beginner
This ability hardens and sharpens your claws and fangs into the sharpest of steel swords, made for tearing off flesh, as you level this ability it will become sharper and gain new effects.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Steel tail (active) level 1 beginner
This ability will cause you tail to harden into the densest steel,,it to be used as a club or a shield. When activated your tail grows into 1.5x the size so that it can cover the length of your body.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, what handy abilities! The two passive abilities would be very useful but what caught my eye was the active ability I had gained, I decided to test it out. I thought in my head
'Steel tail'
Then before my very eyes my tail turned into solid steel and lengthened until it could reach my face when outstretched, wow this would make chasing my tail a lot easier!
No, bad thought. Get out of my head, chasing my tail would be pointless.
I decided to test our my new tail so I followed the trail of some goblins, they were a fair distance away. Around 2 km, thankfully goblins are very smelly.
I decided to train my reflexes so I sprinted across the forest at a blinding speed, going around in large circles to lengthen the time before I reached the goblins, the trees were blurring past me and the wind felt like it parted out of respect for me. It was a surreal feeling, dodging trees at the last second, playing chicken with oak trees, dodging deer.
After a short while I arrived at the source of the stench, I slowed down into a crawl and poked my large head out of the bushes.
What I saw was a large goblin encampment, goblins were everywhere. Around 50 goblins, 30 hobgoblins and one large extremely muscular green thing that could only be an ogre. It stood a staggering 3 metres tall, towering over even the tallest hobgoblin.
The ogre: http://oceanofgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/of_orcs_and_men-free-download.jpg
He was wearing basic leather armour over his tree trunk like legs, I guess he must be the one in charge.
I decided that with these brutes here, my forest would never be safe. So I had to kill them, I formed a basic plan in my mind.
They had to eat right, I'm guessing they send hunting parties of around 3-4 individuals, I would ambush these hunting parties and kill them. I would repeat this until they notice that their hunting parties stopped returning, hopefully once they realised this it would be too late.
It was a very basic plan, but I wasn't really known for my intelligence. I always didn't like action more. So I waited until they eventually sent out a hunting party with 3 goblins and 1 hobgoblin, their levels were 8,8, and 10.
Once they were a sufficient distance from the camp i ambushed them from behind a large bush, leaping over the bush I grabbed 2 of the goblins heads with my claws and sliced through their brain with my talons.
Then i whirled around and bit off an entire goblins head, seeing this the hobgoblin sprinted away from me as fast as he could, but I leaped over and smashed him against a tree with my tail using steel tail.
He was thrown into a tree with a wet a CRUNCH, and died instantly. I quickly feasted on the goblins to leave no evidence. Then I sneaked back to their camp to see if another hunting party is sent off.
*2 days later
It seems that goblins aren't very smart, because they sent out another 9 hunting parties out before they realised something wasn't right, now it seems the their ogre commander is going to go out with 5 of his finest hobgoblins and destroy the source.
As I watched him leave the camp I smiled wolfishly to myself.
All was going to plan.
Once he had been gone for about 10 minutes, I inched closer to his camp.
Currently all the goblins and hobgoblins, which amounted to 20 goblins and 15 hobgoblins.
We're sitting around a campfire waiting for their boss to return with some food, seeing this I sprung into action.
I leaped across the clearing between me and the goblins and to their horror, I landed in the thick of them. Instantly killing 5 goblins, then I swung a claw at lightning speed across the faces of 4 hobgoblins.
I sensed several enemies running towards me so I activated steel tail and swung it directly at them. I felt a wet splat on my tail and new that 8 more goblins had died, then while biting the head of a hobgoblin I swung his body into several of his friends, causing then to be flung several feet.
I then slaughtered the goblins surrounding me and bounded over to the dazed hobgoblins that were battered by their dead friend, I landed on two of them with my back claws. Killing them instantly and gored the rest of them to death.
I got up and admired my handiwork, surrounding me were what could once be called goblins and hobgoblins, but we're now piles of blood, bone and flesh. I flashed a blood filled smile that would cause even Chuck Norris to piss himself.
"GROAAAAAAAAAR"
I heard an ear piercing roar and looked at the perpetrator, only to see a mass of green muscle wielding a club, running at me screaming bloody murder.
Now the real fight begins...
--------------------------------------------------------------
HAHAHA, he chose the steel wolf!
But don't worry, he will eventually get magic and live up to the name Fenrir.
I will also be introducing the payers soon, should I create some different pov's? Or just stick to Fenrir's?
Also, do you want me to make him evolve again after this battle, or make him evolve after an even more amazing battle I have planned? If you do want him to evolve, what would you evolve him into? Your answers probably won't change my desision but I am curious. Reply in the comments.

Journeys in the Fairworld: The Gatekeeper
Lindsey Fluger was only slightly past eighteen. There was nothing particularly special about her, save that she happened to be the right person at the right time. When Lindsey is asked to join an expedition to another world she makes the mistake of saying yes, plunging herself into a sea of perilous adventure and dark intrigue. Journeys in the Fairworld is a fantasy anthology series set in The Fairworld, a magical realm existing in parallel with our own world which is governed by a group elfin beings known only as “The Good Folk”. These mysterious entities work in secret to keep the peace between the myriad of peoples and nations which dwell in The Fairworld. Complex relationships and bitter rivalries emerge against a backdrop of constrained resources and conflicting values to produce a world of high adventure and tangled mysteries. This novel is technically already completed, and I am currently in the final stages of proofing or editing. As such, there may be a few typos and errors here and there. The final version should be about 130,000 words long, which I will be releasing in stages as I continue editing. I'd love to hear your feedback and comments! If you want to read more stories from Journeys in the Fairworld, please checkout “Journeys in the Fairworld: The Brigand of Potham”, which is also available here on Royal Road Legends. https://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/19369/journeys-in-the-fairworld-the-brigand-of-potham

Searcher
I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
