《Kenosis of the Light Bearer》Chapter 68 - Mermen Underwater Kingdom

Lucifer pushed forward with all the strength he could muster. His mind started to wander and his natural instincts kicked into overdrive. His movements superimposed with the vision that appeared in his mind.
What he saw appear before his eyes was a Roc that flew through the sky like magnificent and mighty sovereign. Its head was straight and tall like a king that scoffed at the world.
The confidence in its eyes was impossible to hide. But the look in its eyes changed as it then dived into the ocean without a second thought. At first glance you would think the bird was committing suicide by drowning itself, but such a lofty king wouldn’t pull a stunt like that.
Its body warped and bubbled as its skin started peeling and changing color. It’s skin peeled backwards and formed into scales. It’s head and beak combined into one and formed an elongated head. It’s tail and legs joined together into a tail covered in scales. It’s wings drew back and it’s feather sharpened.
The roc had transformed into a giant fish snake. This was the legendary Kun Peng! A Roc that can transform into a Leviathan and vice versa.
As soon as the Kun Peng entered the water, the other fish bowed in worship as they were pushed far behind, its tail smashed down at the water making ripples that birthed 30 meter swells. Its speed was unbelievable and its appearance was fearsome and ferocious. It propelled itself forward with a single swoosh.
The image of the Kun Peng circled in Lucifer’s mind over and over again until he entered a great state of enlightenment. His eyes went blank and he was completely focused on the movements on the Kun Peng. In his mind appeared the kung fu that he had drilled thousands of times.

The legendary Kun Peng embodiment technique.
It had never really come in handy before but now it seemed to fit the situation perfectly.
Combining both the aspects of a fish and a bird he kicked his tail stirring up bubbles behind him. His speed increased drastically as he whirled through the water.
His tail was like a motor as a long line of bubbles streamed behind him. His movements created a long trail as he dodged the tentacles left, right and center. He pushed passed the other merchildren and swirled as he dodged the incoming tentacles. The tentacles were fast but they were too big. By combining the aspects of both bird and fish put him at an advantage against his peers.
He used them as shields as he avoided one tentacle after another. Swirling and twirling like a torpedo he sped towards the King and Queen.
Safety was within his reach, he was only a meter or so from reaching his goal and making it back. But another merchild that had trailed behind him finally made an appearance. He viciously grabbed Lucifer’s tail and dragged him back down.
Lucifer was unexpectedly dragged back and then snatched up by one of the large tentacles.
He was so busy focusing on dodging the danger from below he forgot to watch for danger from behind. One of his own siblings in this world had actually betrayed him.
As he looked back he saw the merchild smiling. The merboy even had the audacity to wave good bye to Lucifer. Lucifer saw it all happen before his eyes as a shadow of rage burned inside of him. This wasn’t over, he would definitely make this merboy pay the price.
Another 10 or so children made it to safety but the rest were like him and dragged into the depths of oblivion.

He struggled and tried to escape but it was impossible. The beast that had grabbed them was just too strong. He couldn’t budge an inch.
He felt himself being pulled down to the depths of the sea.
His surroundings continued to grow darker and darker and the water grew colder as they were dragged down deeper and deeper into the ravine.
100 meters, 200 meters…500…. He wasn’t sure how far they had travelled now because he couldn’t see anything at all. All he knew was that they were going deeper and deeper without stopping.
The pressure increased and he felt his ears pop. But the mermen were naturally adapted to deal with the deep ocean pressure but too deep and even they might implode.
After what felt like an eternity they finally came to a stop in front of 2 big beady red eyes that glowed in the darkness like imperishable candles. The 2 big beady red eyes stared them down and looked them over with a fearsome and scary look in its eyes.
There was silence for a minute or two until the creature slowly started to speak.
“My… my… my… What do we have here?”
The creature’s voice was old, ancient and sparse. The creature began to click its tongue which seemed to trigger some sort of mechanism.
A clicking sound was heard as the entire area around them lit up. The light came from luminescent shells that seemed to glow naturally. Despite their tinted glow they were bright enough to light up the entire area.
The shaking and scared merchildren looked around and almost fainted from what they saw. Before them appeared a giant octopus creature with hundreds of tentacles and powerful sharp teeth. It was what the people on earth called the kraken.
A name of pure fear, a beast of destruction that wrought wrath against all that crossed its path. It was a legendary beast that could consume even the strongest man with fear.
A living and breathing kraken!
“Welcome to my humble abode…It’s been a long time since I’ve had visitors. Please take a seat, I will quickly clean up.”
The next scene shocked them and almost made Lucifer fall over in surprise. The giant and ferocious creature actually began to sweep up around them, shoveling the sand off the rocks and onto the sea bed while he hummed a tune like a house maid.
And what was even more impossible to hide was the giant smile on his face.
