《What LITRPG There is Only Needlework [Hiatus]》Chapter 6

Sui hit the floor solidly but could no longer feel her side bleeding as the text appeared in front of her.
Wave 3 completed. Minor injuries healed, and rewards distributed.
Thank God, or… is it thank System now? How does this work I was never into the whole religion thing. Sui let herself go limp as she basked in the soft carpet and the joy of knowing she wasn’t about to slowly bleed out.
Sui tried, and failed to pull herself to her feet. Stumbling and taking a knee instead, feeling the blood pounding in her ears and a nauseating feeling welling up within her. Ok… apparently um… what is it called.
The gears of the loom that made up Sui’s mind struggle to turn under the weakness from the blood loss. Eh… it’s not important. Eventually, she managed to pull herself up onto the couch before the let herself go limp once again.
Something… there was something that I should do now… sleeping, that… um that sounds really good. No wait. Sui shook her head trying to clear it but stopped as the nausea welled up again. Uh… no it’s not sleep. I have… um… blood loss. That’s what it is.
And as if answering that question had untangled her knotted mind the tapestry of her thoughts started to come together… a little better at least. Right. I lost a lot of blood from those damned rabbits. I need to um… eat I think. Eat a bit then perhaps sleep to replenish the lost blood.
A pang of sadness wafted over her as she realised that once again the actual making of her gift would have to wait once again with her now shaking hands and unsteady mind. Groaning Sui decided it was better to quickly drag herself over to the kitchen just go find something resembling food before passing out.
Upon reaching the kitchen though she felt her stomach sink. I’m in no shape to actually prepare a meal. Did Grandma leave anything in the fridge.
Sending out a silent prayer Sui opened the fridge with one eye closed as she looked at the contents. It was… not the best she could hope for. There was half a bowl of spaghetti that had been left for more than a… week? Sui pretended she wasn’t even considering that option.

Moving on to the rest of the fridge revealed a few pieces of steak all uncooked, as well as a large variety of fruits and vegetables in their own little fridge compartment. There was of course, some milk and yoghurt, but that hardly made a meal in and of itself.
Welp. That isn’t really doing me any good at the moment. Closing the fridge and opening the freezer Sui hoped that her faith would be rewarded by something vaguely edible within. Vaguely a sadly accurate descriptor.
There was of course, the large amount of fish that the neighbours had given her. But it might as well have been a solid block of ice considering how long it had been left in the corner as neither Grandma nor Sui could stomach the stuff.
Other than that, there was some frozen chicken that was probably in date as well as half a box of chicken nuggets that looked much better than they had any right to, to Sui’s slowly dwindling hopes.
Sighing and pulling the box free from its icy prison Sui quickly placed them all on a tray and practically threw them into the oven before slamming the door shut and cranking the temperature gauge.
‘Food’ acquired she stumbled back to the couch to rest. She couldn’t risk going any further away from the ‘cooking’ just in case she passed out. If she fell asleep on the couch at least the timer would wake her. If she was any further away Sui dreaded the idea she might just sleep through it all and awake to some very burnt chicken.
As her head cleared Sui started to use this as a chance to consider what exactly it was she wanted to do going forward. The big question is really, is how widespread this all is, and what sort of hell is breaking loose around me.
I haven’t heard explosions or screaming so you’d think the street was safe, but the area is pretty sparsely populated with the few really old houses nobody live in around the place there is a hell of a chance I’ve just not heard the world ending around me
Then there is the matter of Grandma. I somehow doubt she’s got done in by all this. The crazy old bat always seemed to know more than she let on. Perhaps she knew the apocalypse was coming. Sui giggled at her great joke… or perhaps that was the blood loss talking

Honestly though. It’s a matter of if I should be going out and what? Scavenging or something? Eventually the food in the house is going to run out, though perhaps the system will start providing?
Eh, probably best not to count on something like that. So for now, let’s leave pretend we know Grandma is fine and focus on the food situation. It’s actually not that bad. Our fridge is really good at handling being off. As long as I don’t open it like an idiot… like I just did, it should last a while
We also have that tiny generator maybe? Not sure if that still works with whatever the heck this is. So… let’s play it conservatively and say that I’ve got three days of food.
What’s the step after that? If I have to leave to go find food I should probably be trying to meet up with Trina and Aife. Those pair are probably loving it right now
Trina would be saying this is straight out of one of her pathetically small books she reads and Aife is probably laughing at the chance to beat something up that fights back properly.
Sui bit her lip. Actually the more I consider it the better it seems for me to go out and find those pair. I wonder whose house I should head for though.
Sui tried to remember her friends habits, to try and pinpoint where they’d likely be trying to meet up. Hmm. The issue is normally we all hang out here, but that’s because I live near Ti Kwon Do. Those pair live much closer to each other, so I doubt that my best bet is to wait here.
Hmm, wait hang on… didn’t those two moves in together once they started attending college? I think they might have… but then again, they also dropped out not long after so I wonder if they are still at the same place.
Sui tried to remember the exact details involving where they were living now but her blood loss was having other ideas. Apparently, she was already thinking about things too much and her head was starting to protest.
That did have Sui scoffing slightly because the light feeling of being uncomfortable, she currently experiences simply paled in comparison to the previous ‘persuasion’ that she’d suffered through.
None the less Sui took the hint and let her mind drift to more natural topics such as the type of stitching she wanted to use on the seams of the new dress, or what shade of black she should be using for the thread.
A short time later she heard the oven alerting her to a ‘meal’ well done. Groggily making her way over she opened the oven and managed to succeed at avoiding serious burns, though it was a much closer thing that any would admit.
Throwing the now cooked chicken into a bowl she slumped down in a chair and stared at her meal before taking a bite. “Needs more salt” Sui grumbled as she quickly ate the nuggets, she’d provided for herself.
Once the food had been strategically relocated to her stomach Sui dragged herself back to her room for her pyjamas. The temptation to forgo a shower and instead flop on her bead was strong. But Grandma was very clear about what she thought of unclear fools so off Sui shuffled.
When she turned the taps and nothing happened. Her first thought was Oh, this probably won’t work. And her second was Shit this is cold. As a torrent of unheated water splattered down onto her.
Whatever mechanism Grandma had set up for the showers was still operating… Though wait… now that I think about it why did the oven work at all then? Filing that little thought away for another day. Preferably one when she wasn’t suffering from so much blood loss Sui finished her shower in silence before dragging herself back to her room and collapsing face first into her pillow.
Of course, collapsing with your legs half off the bed wasn’t comfortable for anyone, and Sui didn’t count herself among the lucky few that did enjoy the sensation. So with some minor grumbling she managed to pull herself together for one last task and situated herself properly on her bed, before the rigours of the day caught up to her and sleep claimed her for itself.

Death Cultivator (Cultivator in Another World Vol. I & II)
Fight for your Soul. New cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he became a member of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust him into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. Now if he wants to survive, he’ll have to learn to cloak his deadly Spirit attacks in shadow, control the ancient revenant trying to take over his mind, and defeat the Angel of Death who dropped him on Van Diemann in the first place. Death Cultivator is sci-fi / isekai / wuxia / western / whatever, sort of like Borderlands meets Hunter x Hunter. I wanted to write something entertaining and actiony with that shonen vibe, so here's hoping this hits the spot. Warning: This isn't an isekai where the MC immediately becomes OP and starts revenge-killing everyone once he gets Death powers. Death is coming, but it's a slow burn. Like some of the reviewers for Volume I mentioned, the MC has a past and it effects his actions and choices in the new world.

On the other side of the portal with her friends by her side, Allisa is forced into a conflict she is not prepared for, ordained as the Goddess Chosen to bring about one of two possible outcomes; Salvation or destruction. ------------------------------------ Author's notes: This is more or less the first draft of this story. Currently working on a second draft. Spelling and grammar is definitely my biggest weakness, particularly in my earlier stuff. I've done some editing and hopefully have ironed out most of these mistakes in my older chapters though I'm fairly certain there are some mistakes still left. This story is ongoing. Updates are slow as I publish when a chapter is ready. Expect long chapters for most of it. Just sort of my style. Only available on Royal road.com
