《Method Of Loci》Chapter 11 - In your dreams

Without any hesitation Eliot tapped on yes accepting his mother's call, the satellite turned around and unloaded millions of the orange particles that slowly began to take the shape of his mother along with some of her surroundings. It was amazing to say the least, there was only one color but Eliot could instantly tell it was his mother. She looked to be taking him and Anubis in, in the same fashion. Eliot wondered not for the first time who created this technology and who changed the world as they knew it.
“...Mum?” Eliot asked hesitantly
“Eliot, i'm happy to see you and Anubis are safe. Where are you?” Vivian asked visibly relaxing after succeeding in contacting her son.
“In some apartment building, what happened to you guys, did those teleporters do something to you; Wheres Kat and dad?” Eliot questioned looking nervous, all those bad thoughts came flooding back to him.
“Calm down, everyone is okay. Those teleporters were sent to rescue us they just didn't know how many people they had to rescue, the fools. Where in a large facility at the moment, there's other people here and it's seems like a decent safe haven at the moment; are you with Thomas or Natalie?” Vivian said Natalie’s name like it left a bad taste in her mouth.
“I'm with Thomas, I don't know what happened to Natalie; could have died in the fight with the thrall who knows. Can't you have the teleporters come get us, there's a whole bunch of people here too who needs a safe place to stay.”
Vivian looked perplexed before she answered
“I've been trying to get them to go back for you, but they won't listen. They said the time limit is up, and they can't bring anyone down here for another week.”
“Time limit for what exactly?” Eliot asked unsure if he wanted to hear the answer.
“....Before the thrall are the least of your problems. Something is going to change in the next few hours and they won't tell me what it is. Eliot I promise i'm going to come back for you with or without the teleporters. I need you to think smart and stay safe until I do okay?” Vivian assured
Eliot just sat there letting it soak in, there's some secret facility that are saving people from something worse than the thralls. He had a chance to be saved but instead he's out here right in the middle of ground fucking zero, well on the bright side atleast his family his safe. He looked his mother in the eye and took a deep breath.
“No, I want you to stay where you are, you guys need to stay safe. You have no idea what’s about to happen, we can't risk everyone just to save me. Don't worry about me i'll find my way; I can see now, you know that. I can do stuff by myself now, so just tell me where you guys are and i’ll get there.” Eliot was choking up a little halfway through, if he was honest with himself he was scared. Since everything went down, he's had his family by his side and he didn't realize it until just now how much that meant to him.

Vivian seemed to hesitate “...Eliot you know I would kill for you, you are my son and i’ll do whatever it takes to have you back. They haven't given us any answers yet, but i'm going force them to talk tomorrow. As soon as I do i’ll call you ok; I love you Eliot, please stay safe.”
“I love you too mum.” Eliot replied before the the particles were sucked back into the satellite leaving the room silent again. A knock came to the door, Eliot really didn't want to get up at the moment and Thomas is probably fast asleep by now. Another knock came and Eliot was forced to shuffle his lead heavy body to the door.
He answered the door only to see two floating hands holding bags of food, then from the side of the doorway came a short raven haired girl's face. She beamed a large smile at Eliot making him wish he took a shower; he probably smelled horrible.
“I brought you guys some snacks, mind if I come in?” She didn't wait for Eliot to answer and just pushed her way inside. She sat down next to Anubis and tried to pet him but he let out a low growl in warning. ‘Anubis is getting really aggressive lately, he used to never turn down head rubs.’
She pouted but kept her hands to herself. Eliot was still looking at the four floating hands that hovered around her in tandem, she had a black reverse head band thing that started at her temples and went around the back of her head. It looked sleek like tech but it gave off the magical vibe, with the glowing designs that were inscribed in it; it must be whats allowing her to controll the hands. ‘I want one’ Eliot thought to himself.
“Can I help you with something?” Eliot asked after the silence became awkward or at least for him it did.
“No, I just wanted to chill with you guys for a bit, hope you don't mind. The names Genesis by the way.” She said offering her hand to Eliot
Eliot looked at it for a second and shook it, her hands were incredibly soft. ‘Control yourself Eliot, i'm pretty sure you aimed your gun at her; all your chances with this one are destroyed.’
“Eliot”
“Nice name it sounds smart; I like your dog, he looks vicious what's his name or is it a girl?” Genesis asked trying to pet Anubis again, funny thing was he let her this time; I guess complements work for him.
“He’s male and his name is Anubis. Look I don't want to sound rude or anything but i'm completely exhausted and I want to get some rest so if you wouldn't mind leaving I would appreciate it.” Eliot said eyeing the door.

“Aw come on just give me a couple of minutes, i'm dying to know what's going on down there.” She was looking at Eliot with her soft hazel eyes. Eliot almost caved but then the bruises on his body pulled him back to reality.
“You’ll figure it out tomorrow, so leave.” Eliot insisted with a little more force than he intended.
“Okay, okay, I know when i'm not wanted, how about I spend the night over here and you can tell me first thing in the morning?” Genesis said kicking off her shoes.
‘What is wrong with this girl, she clearly doesn't understand the meaning of not being wanted.’ Eliot thought, but he could only shake his head.
“You know what, i'm not even going to argue with you. You can take the other room i’ll sleep on the couch” Eliot offered
“Oh we have a gentleman, keep it up and you may get stuck with me.” Genesis said sauntering her pert ass off into the other room.
Eliot laid down on the couch and tried to understand what just happened, he doesn't have a lot of experience with women (meaning none) so he couldn't figure out why this college girl would even give him the time of day. After a couple of minutes it was out of his mind and he was thinking about his family again and the warning his mother gave him.
He closed his eyes and quickly drifted off to sleep, only to wake up in front of the crystal clear lake next to the large tree cottage inside his mind.
“You have got to be kidding me, even when I sleep?” Eliot muttered.
He did not want to be here right now, after his last experience with the ‘silence’ he was afraid that he would have to go through that nightmare again. He slowly made his way to the tree house and noticed that all his fatigue was gone, he looked at his body and the bruises and cuts from before were completely nonexistent; He felt like a new man.
Eliot climbed the stairs to the previous study room, he had at least twenty four hours in here if they give him a full eight hours sleep on the outside; so he might as well use those hours productively. Especially with the ominous warning his mother gave him, he needed all the time he can get. The first thing he did was check his status, it felt like he hasn't opened the system in forever; but the reality is, it hasn't even been a full day since this all happened.
Name: Eliot Blakesley
Abilities: Method Of Loci
Bloodline: Human
Equipment: Darksteel dagger
Plasma pistol
Necklace of shielding tier 1 (2/10)
Pantheon: N/A
Pet: Anubis (Siberian husky/Wolf) 100-0 pts -/+
Eliot was shocked to see that Anubis had actually been gaining points for himself, he wondered what type of benefits Anubis would get if he clicked the plus sign. ‘Well there's only way to find out.’ Eliot maxed it out until all one one hundred points were selected. He waited for something to happen and when nothing did he moved on.
He went through the abilities section and the cluster market to review the abilities and items he's seen so far to have an idea of how many points some of the others were working with. He first looked for any cold or ice related abilities and there were quite a few until he found one that seemed pretty similar to Thomas’s.
It was called the Frost Initiation, it allowed the wielder to be immune to the cold and generate ice and shape it to there will; pretty simple but the requirements were that you already have a high cold tolerance and the downside was that you forsake all your body warmth for the ability, it was 6,500 points. ‘Then again it might not even be the right one, I wonder if it would be rude to ask Thomas.’
The next thing he looked up was those floating magical hands he saw Genesis with earlier, they could be incredibly useful for his Tut magic. After mindlessly searching through countless items, mentally noting some of them in his head (Does that mean I have two minds, since i'm already in my head? anyways.) he finally found them. They’re called Manus, and it comes with a total of four hands and the headband, it doesn't come with any auxiliary skills or perks, it just allows you to control the floating hands like your own; it does have one downside though extreme mental strain oh and the price is 3,000 points.
Eliot only had a total of 789 points all together, and that's mostly from killing thralls. As of right now he couldn't afford anything noteworthy, maybe another book; but that wouldn't make sense right now since he's no where near mastering the first one he's brought. After going through some more items and overall just procrastinating he finally decided to resume his training with the book of Tut.

Will You Be Alone? After The End? Don't You Know We're All Still Here?
More than a century ago the world was devastated, but that doesn't matter. Nobody cares about the past, stories from that time are as wildly conflicting as they are ridiculous--when any stories exist at all. There are problems in the here and now that need to be dealt with, bringing the past into things isn't going to help anyone. The fact is that young people all over the world are developing mysterious powers, and the public reactions to these powers are far from positive. Fair enough, you might say. Who wants a young man around who can conjure heat from the palm of his hand? How deeply undesirable is a girl who can bend your emotions to her will? What use, I ask you, is a girl whose very essence crackles with lightning? No use at all, I'd say. As for this so-called Mr Fin and his grand ideals, well, all I can say is that his clothing is of better quality than his plans. Vague allusions to a 'sanctuary' and a 'mysterious and powerful statue' are all very well, but when it comes to solid results I fear you may find him somewhat lacking. Mark my words and mark them well, following one such as him will only lead to tears. All in all, I'd say there's not much you could reasonably expect from a world such as this. Conflict, perhaps. Hardship, certainly. Despair, heartache, loss... ...hope? No, don't be ridiculous. Where could one find hope, in this ruin of an existence? Honestly, I am asking. Where?Discord
