As soon as he heard the sounds of battle, Zack tensed up, he remembered that Alia said this was a medieval fantasy world.

'There's no way that's not a battle going on.'

Thinking to himself, Zack contemplated on ignoring the batlle or helping.

However, the sounds of horses neighing sealed the deal. 'If there's a horse, then there's transportation.' Smiling at himself, he climbed a tree yet again and found a good vantage point.

When he was perched on a sturdy branch, he took out his rifle, still loaded with two bullets, and decided to put some more in the magazine.

Putting the rifle to his shoulders he looked through the scope and aimed towards the noise. About a hundred meters away, a wooden carriage is being attacked by rugged looking men, and was being protected by guards or knights of some sort donning black armor with white accents.

Looking at the scene it was easy to discern who was being attacked. The thieves numbered in the tens and the guards were at a measly seven. But despite that, Zack noticed that they were holding off pretty well, but soon enough, they'll eventually lose from accumulated wounds and fatigue.

Zack cocked the rifle and aimed towards one thief who was going to take a swing at a guard. Pulling the trigger, the bullet flew faster than the speed of sound. The thief's head exploded before he even knew what happened.

Zack was surprised, when he shot the goblin, its head didn't go BOOM or splattered... 'Was it magic?,' He thought to himself, 'I better study this magic thing...' He added another number to his lists of goals.

The next thief he shot was an archer, they were skillfully hidden atop a tree but when they shot an arrow, Zack noticed the reflection from the iron arrowtip. Their head, as expected, also went BOOM. The corpse fell down the tree, it's head, or what remains of it, was a mangled mess.

Everyone stopped what their doing in surprise, and fear. The thieves looked around warily, trying to guess who killed their comrades, the guards were confused and was looking towards each other. Everyone stopped, save for Zack, he shot another thief mercilessly, and his head splattered towards the others at his back. Taking that as an opportunity, the guards went on the offensive.

If a guard is cornered, Zack would help, or if a guard is going to get hit, he would help, but if he knows that they can do it themselves, he doesn't do anything and just observes.

Zack knows that he only has limited number of bullets, it might be 100 rounds, but it's still limited. He has to find a way to create more bullets easily before he spend them without thought. 'Another goal on the list, huh,' He thought to himself.

He already used 13 bullets, one on the green monster and 12 in this support fire.

After 5 minutes without any more intervention on his part, the guards eliminated all the thieves that haven't fled. They turned towards themselves and pat each other's shoulder, they talked to someone inside the carriage, "Now who might that be?" Zack muttered to himself, still looking through his scope. The guards then turned towards his general direction, knelt down and bowed with their hands over their chest.

"Are they... thanking me?" Zack asked himself, slack-jawed. The guards then went back to talking amongst themselves, after that, they went towards the carriage, some went to the coach's seat while the others surrounded the carriage, the coach then flicked the reigns and urged remaining horses to move.

Move... in the opposite direction he wants them to go... they went towards his side of the road, away from the city...

"Goddamnit!" He shouted and almost fell off the brach. He wouldn't try to approach the carriage now that he knows they wouldn't take him to right direction, he wondered why they didn't go back to the city if they had wounds or to buy a new horse, but he figured it was none of his business.

While the carriage passed by the road near him, he got a glimpse of the inside. Where a silver-haired girl was seating.

"NOPE," Zack looked away at the beauty, he removed his eyes from the sights but stayed at the branch, "Last time I met someone like that, I was dead. Nope, No way."

He put the rifle back at his Bag, and put his hands up in a surrrender gesture. He climbed down the tree after that and collected the cartridges that fell, he might be able to use it later.

And, once again he walked towards the city.
