《Parasites and Magic》Goblins 5

Once Rina was sufficiently far away he lit the bombs. Praying silently to his gods he tossed two of the weapons. The first bomb missed the target entirely splattering the flaming liquid on the ground. The second was a direct hit, it spread across the Grolls scaly back. The beast screamed dropping the corpse of the knight.
He went to light another one, but the once thrashing monster was now facing him. Completely enraged. It took off on its signature charge towards the assailant.
Rina looked at the mouth of the cave, seems the Goblin shaman was not watching her. Instead, its face was filled with concern. In fact, she noticed from the very beginning that if the Groll died, the shaman was practically helpless to any sort of physical retaliation. Well, since the Groll and shaman were preoccupied with the bomb thrower she was almost unnoticed. She licked lips, Nothing wrong with taking a snack on the go.
The Groll lifted the man up by his arm, it roared. Its hot breath was more than enough to make the knight sweat underneath his armor.
“Guh huh huh.” The fresh air that was pushed away from him left him gasping.
He screamed in pain as the Groll twisted his arm until it broke. “Son of a bitch!” With his still useable arm, he tossed a firebomb directly at the creature’s face. The beast dropped him as its entire head was engulfed in flames. It scream shook the very room they stood in.
“Heh. who needs magic…” He chuckled to himself, He was barely even able to continue being conscious. The pain was entirely overloading his mind.
The goblin Shaman hissed at the knight but didn’t move from his spot. The flaming faced Groll did not fall, by the time the flames died its face again was covered in third degrees. The knight laid back and lit one last bomb. This would be his final attack.

Except his body wouldn’t even allow him to toss. All his strength faded from him, and the bomb rolled harmlessly out of his grip. The Groll raised both its arms upward. Luckily for the knight, he had died before it had the chance to kill him.
The Groll brought its arms down and smashed his body, simultaneously crushing every single bomb the knight had, the resulting explosion covered the entirety of the area blanketing everything in smoke and flames.
Rina grabbed the shaman by the throat. Failing to notice her was going to be the death of him at least now that the Groll was dead. She needn’t worry about her condition or situation. The creature that was in front of her was within her kill zone, and it was going to pay for making her quest for food that much harder.
“...How?” it hissed its last breath before she closed her hand, decapitating the creature. The body fell limp to the ground, the staff that feels with it let out one final small ring.
The beast emerged from the smoke. It was not unscathed. Most of the body was covered in blisters, and its flesh was charred. It was missing most of the skin covering its face. Its teeth were on full display, and it was looking directly at the direction the shaman fell.
Rina took two steps backward and took off in a full sprint into the mouth of the cave. This sub level was practically the same as the upper layers. Didn’t really matter since she had been following the source of magic that she could.
Eventually, she came to a dead end, the path broke off to going right or left. She went left and picked up a rock, as far as she could she skipped the rock off the ground down the right tunnel. The Groll that was chasing after she went after the foundation in the right shaft.

The one thing that she learned from the fight was that the beast was blind the entire time. The first clue was that the shaman was guiding it through the use of his staff. The enhanced cognitive abilities were proving to be her most useful addition to this form.
She waited a few minutes for the Groll to keep moving out of earshot. The walls down here were drastically different. They didn’t have any crevices or hiding spots most of it was a just smooth walls with an occasional rock that went out a little far.
She made a left, still following the scent. Both her arms were suspended in the air like a puppet. The creature she thought she had evaded was now holding her in a vulnerable position.
She screamed, the voice did not sound in any way human. The forced movement of her arm was causing her a great deal of pain. She tried to kick her way out of the trap, she failed she was way too far to do any damage.
The Groll made a noise halfway between a laugh and roar. It pulled her arms outward. She screamed even louder, instead of just one arm both were now in a more significant deal of pain.
It didn’t take long, but her already injured arm ripped from the bone, the monster didn’t stop it kept pulling until her body slid to the Groll’s arm that still held on.
At this moment her body was convulsing from the sheer amount of blood loss, she made one last attempt to do damage. She succeeded in creating a wound in the Groll’s palm. It dropped her. Her body was flung into the walls. At this moment there was way too much blood loss, the amount of energy it would even take her to run again was something she didn’t have.
The Groll’s once playful mannerism was now like before, incredibly pissed. It was winding up for a punch.
A burst of lightning shot through the beast’s hand and skull leaving just the tongue and lower jaw. It fell with a thunderous drop.
“Erwin!” A voice could be heard, but the scenery was getting dark. “Heal her!”
“But she isn’t a human!”
“So what!? The mission was to rescue the…” Rina’s vision faded to black, falling into the embrace of her subconscious.

El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
