《From Beast to Man and Back Again》Ch.3 We get stronger

Goal achieved~! We finally reached the coveted fifteen rabbits a day. It took longer than expected, almost three months, but the result is great. It's even easy now, no one gets hurt anymore. The lightest colored wolf has even managed to catch 23 rabbits in a day, by herself. My score is 38 rabbits in a day, I'm still the strongest. It's weird though, when I first met the wolves their fur was almost black, but it's been getting lighter. I wonder why. Maybe it's a sign of strength? Either way I'm doing a good job as the leader. My pack is well feed and definitely getting stronger. At this rate I'll definitely be able to find my mom. I really miss her.
Focus, I need to focus. The wolves have gotten strong enough for us to move on to bigger prey. A little farther into this ring a sparse forest starts. As we hunted the rabbits I kept smelling deer coming from that area. I'm sure we are strong enough to hunt some, and it's a good opportunity to work on our team work. The wolves have told me about their hunts for normal deer. If we hunt them it should improve the wolves intelligence and speed. They'll have to change tactics for unexpected actions from the deer. Yup, this is a good plan.
I lead my pack into the forest. There is a clearing where the deer often rest at, that's where we'll find our prey. We approach from downwind, so the deer won't notice us. Once the deer are in sight we freeze. There's a lot of deer. I count them, there are at least fifty deer. Why didn't I notice that when we were coming here? I'm confident in our ability to hunt deer. Judging by their strength, we might even be able to take on three deer at a time...but fifty deer is to much. Unlike normal deer, if we attack the whole herd would stampede towards us. Uuu, this won't work. Dejected, I lead the wolves back to the rabbits again. We'll hunt down a deer tomorrow. I leave the wolves as they hunt, and explore the deer forest. I'll look for more places where the deer gather so if this spot still doesn't work tomorrow we'll have other places to hunt... Failure is depressing. I need to do better, as a leader and a child. Don't worry mother I'll find you, just wait for me to get strong.

Yes, there's only one deer here today! I give the orders to the wolves. Two wolves will go out and taunt the deer and then lead it to the others who are laying in the bushes for an ambush. I climb a tree and sit on a branch overhanging the path they will lead the deer to. When the deer comes by I will leap onto its back from above. It should be more safe then jumping on the rabbits. Instead of chasing the deer here they are going to be chased this way. Being a spirit beast they should be very aggressive. I nod at the two fastest wolves and they head towards the deer. The deer spots them as soon as they are out in the open. The wolves and the deer spend a few seconds staring at each other. Then one of the wolves growls and the other turns around and swings its butt and tail from side to side. Mother taught me that, she would sometimes do that during our practice fights. I would always get really annoyed an charge her. The deer has the same response as I would. The two wolves comes running back here. The one who shook his butt is yelping a lot, but not in pain or fear, it's like he's...laughing? Wah, I got distracted. I quickly jump on the deer that's running past me. I land on its rump and almost fell. The yelping wolf looks back and sees me, he starts yelping louder. As I claw my way up the deers behind the other wolves attack from the side. I grab the deer's head and pull it upwards so that it can't see where it's going. One of the wolves, who are harassing the deer's sides, takes this opportunity to bite the deer's neck and hold tight. The deer slowly stops it's struggles. It's legs buckle and collapse underneath it. We win, and got away with only bruises. Time to take our reward.

The deer is even tastier than the rabbit. Its bigger then the rabbits, and normal deer, that means more to eat. It's green skin is really sweet. I wonder why it's green though. Hmm, mother says that you are what you eat, which is why if you eat the strong you'll be strong. Does that mean the deer has been eating a strong green thing? Deer usually eat grass, does that mean that there is grass with second energy? That would be spirit grass, right? But I don't want to eat grass, deer eat plants other than grass too, so that means it's spirit plants. Okay, I'll keep an eye out for them.
.....
We hunt the rest of the day, and manage to catch another deer. I don't manage to find anything like a spirit plant. When we get back to the den I check the two strongest wolves distinguishing markings. They are the lightest colored wolf and the laughing wolf. She has a light colored blaze on her forehead, and he has darker colored fur lining the dies of his ears and paws. It odd that they are the strongest in the pack, because they are also the two youngest. Actually, that applies to the rest of the pack. The oldest is at the age of the peak of their strength, but the younger wolves are getting stronger faster then he is. Does that mean that the younger you are when you start training the stronger you'll get? Wah, I need to train even harder. I should make use of my youth. Okay, new goal. We'll aim to hunt ten deer a day as a pack. Then when we can do that, we'll split into three groups and aim for five deer a day per group. Eventually, everyone will be strong enough to hunt three deer a day, by themselves. I will make the most of my youth. I sit down to train my second energy. I've made a habit of practicing it before sleeping. That way I'll still have it while I'm hunting. My pool is bigger by a fourth of when I fell. Mother will be proud of my hard work. Secure in the knowledge that I'm doing my best, I sink into the warm embrace of sleep. Cozy.

8 125The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
8 97A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
