《How to get lost: a wanderers guide》Historical note: scout report of the forest fire

To: Commander Agnus of the brimstone brigade.
From: Ranger Captain Eilaaina Mooncrow.
Greetings Comm. Agnus.
As ordered I have led my men to the presumed origin of the forest fire.
Primary objective complete. After analysis of the area and weather patterns at the time we have reached the conclusion that the fire was unnatural in origin.
There were signs of a struggle between an unknown creature and a group of feral gnomes. The bodies were largely decomposed and torched but the bones show trauma indicative of a heavy blow from an axe.
The fires source was a few miles north of the fights location. It was swept by the wind directly into one of the largest feral gnome encampments I have ever seen. The tree towers that the ferals rely on for early warning and defense went up like torches. with no warning it seems the majority of gnomes simple stayed inside their burrows and tunnels.
The fire sucked all the air from the tunnels. Thousands suffocated or were cooked in their homes.
Secondary objective failed: We have no clue what caused the fire. Whatever creature did this is smart enough to deliberately make use of the prevailing winds to their advantage in a fire fight. Strong enough to kill roughly a dozen feral gnome hunters in combat, and vindictive enough to kill thousands and burn down hundreds of acres of old growth forest in a night.
I recommend the brimstone brigade hunt this fire starter before it can rile up the other feral tribes enough to cause another Warband.
I know you are the experts in putting down fire based monsters and ferals but I still urge you to use caution. Whatever this thing is it's dangerous.
One of my scouts found a trail that was littered with burnt animals, bears, deer, squirrels, and the like. It led to a cave within the Ourobouros mountain range.
Only true horrors emerge from those mountains.
Be ware. And good hunting.
Capt. Eilaaina Mooncrow.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
