Azran the Magic King of Darkness
Chapter 03
I slammed my hand into the King's head, sending little bits of skull and brain matter splattering everywhere.
Before anyone could react, I grabbed the woman's head and twisted until I heard a satisfying crack.
I then turned towards the stunned observers and let a vicious smile rip across my face
"Come on, who's next"
The words had barely left my mouth before almost everyone in the room charged me.
I quickly cast a barrier around the throne room, trapping everyone inside, before turning back to the matter at hand.
I never understood those mages who would make insanely large and flashy fireballs, or lift enormous boulders, to kill their opponent, when simply heating their armor enough to boil them alive, or flinging a small pebble through their brain killed them just as dead as incinerating their body, or smashing them to a pulp.
I tapped the side of the first sword to reach me, sending it into the neck of the neighboring knight, before grabbing the first knight and swinging him around in front of me.
I waited for a second until I felt the arrows slam into his body before yanking a dagger from his belt and thrusting it into the eye of the next soldier who was charging me.
I then flung myself into the air, landing in the middle of a group of knights. They all tried to stab me at the same time, making it simple for me to duck and allow them to slaughter one another. I grabbed two of the swords and began slaughtering the rest.
As I watched heads leave their bodies and blood splatter everywhere, I smiled. It was always like this, whenever I began to kill it would come. An inexplicable feeling of happiness and fulfillment. It was like I was born to kill, to slaughter, to rend.
I used be scared of myself, but I embraced those urges, when I saved George. It was the price of saving my brother, I don't know how but somehow I knew that nothing was free, and there was a price for what you wanted the most.
In my case, it was the loss of self-restraint, and the urge to kill. Maybe this power was what turned me into the monster that I am, but I regret nothing, for me that price was merely a small thing to ask for saving my brother. If it was to save him, I would have willingly become the worst monster in existence.......and who knows, maybe I did.
Sometime during my thoughts I had begun laughing, the soldiers were looking at me with despair in their eyes, as they tried to kill a maniac who laughed as he slaughtered. However this just made me laugh harder, as the delicious scent of their fear and despair flooded my senses.
Unfortunately, my laughter caused me to slip for just a moment, but that moment provided just enough time for a stream of light to slam into me.

My body was flung backwards with horrific force into the wall, leaving a large indentation in the solid stone. I glanced down as the flesh melted off my arms, leaving only my bones. Luckily I had managed to bring my arms together to form a sort of barrier, or that would have taken off my head.
'Are you all right? Do you require my assistance?" Navaris's voice echoed in my head as I slowly stood up.
'No. But I'm done playing around.'
I began laughing like a madman, as I reached into the deepest corner of my soul and released the beast that dwelt inside.
I don't know if it was a sentient being that entered into me when I gained my powers, or if it was simply a gathering of my darkest feelings, but whenever I released it I lost the small amount of self-restraint I had, and went on a rampage. At that point I became unable to tell friend from enemy and simply killed everything in sight until I ran out of mana, or everything was dead.
Horrendous cracking sounds echoed inside the room, as my body changed. Foot-long horns ripped out the front of my skull, and my skin tone darkened into a deep bronze, I grew about a foot, and my eyes blazed red.
Light Mage POV
I stared in horror at the abomination that we had summoned, it was just supposed to be a regular summoning, but for some reason this bastard had just attacked us, and killed the King and Queen.
'Why, what did we ever do to you' I screamed in my mind as the demon slaughtered the soldiers who rushed him. Honestly, I was to scared to do anything as he played with the lives of the knights, like they were helpless little creatures.
I tried firing a spell but my mind went blank and I couldn't remember any of the spells I had drilled into my head for the last twenty years.
Why!!!! I was the top graduate of my class and had risen quickly, all the way to the King's court. I had endured the corruption of the court for the chance to do something good, to make a difference. But here I was unable to do anything as the demon destroyed everyone in the room.
The feelings of rage and helplessness filled me until I screamed and released all of my mana in a stream of light at the demon.
Maybe it was luck or the blessing of a god, but at that moment the demon slipped instead of being dodged, my spell slammed into him, flinging him across the room and into the wall.
Yes! YES! YES!!!!!! I did it, I killed the beast, I did something noteworthy, I MADE A DIFFERENCE!!..............N-N-NO! Impossible, nothing should have survived that.
My hope and elation died, plummeting me even deeper into despair, as I stared in ever increasing horror as the demon stood, and then changed. I guess that he was masquerading as a human, and now he was revealing his true form.
His body bent grotesquely as horns ripped out of his head, and he grew about a foot while his skin darkened, and demonic red eyes blazed from his skull. The earthshattering roar that escaped his mouth was filled with such rage and hatred that everyone froze where they stood, no one even dared to breath, lest they draw his attention.

Suddenly the demon disappeared, only to reappear right in front of me.
I tried to scream, to run, to do anything but I couldn't. In the end I just stood still, while his claws ripped through my chest, separating my body into several pieces.
As the Darkness came for me I laughed, it was so ironic, that we believed that we could control whoever came from the summoning, and manipulate it into killing the Demon King.
But instead, we ended up summoning an even worse monster, who had absolutely no reason to help us, and who was extraordinarily pissed off that we had disturbed his rest.
George's POV
"F*%$." I yelled as I slammed my fist into the table, pulverizing it and sending the contents of the drawers scattering all over the floor.
Two days......It had been two days since my brother had disappeared and still no one could find him.
I had called in every favor I could, while my parents had sent out a request to every ally we had, for assistance in locating Azran. But all the searches, traces, and scrying ended in the void.
The experts on the void had said that it was the dead zone inbetween worlds, and that it was impossible to trace anything through it. However; I did not accept that and told them to find a way.
Most people ended up giving me plenty of room, due to my somewhat over the top reaction, when some asshole had made the comment that it was "A good thing that freaky S.O.B was gone".
I finally stopped beating the guy after an hour or so, and had my assistants send the barely living sack of flesh to the healers.
Azran didn't know it, but I had always admired him. Even as a child, because while people were praising me and calling me a prodigy, everyone outside our immediate family tended to ignore Azran because he had shown no aptitude or skill for magic, or anything else, except reading.
But reading isn't a job, so most people deemed him useless. Yet, despite that Azran wasn't jealous of me, but constantly encouraged me, and supported all my endeavors.
But while I admired him, I still wasn't as close as we are now. It was during the kidnapping incident that we became so close. Azran was extremely thankful because I did not reject him when he turned into some sort of demon, even though that scared him. But I was even more thankful because he had saved not only my life but also Marie's life, who I was in love with.
After that there was just about nothing I wouldn't do for him, and I could tell that he felt the same way about me.
But now he had been dragged off to some other dimension, I COULDN"T DO ANYTHING!
As a Magic King you have an enormous amount of power, but all my power was useless. My control of light was worth nothing, and the one time my brother needed my help, I WAS USELESS, I couldn't pay back even a portion of the debt I owed him.
"AAAAUUUUGGHH!!"
The papers that were scattered across the floor, ignited and turned to ash. But before I could light the entire room on fire, a pair of thin arms encircled my neck and two warm mounds rested against my back.
".....Hey, Marie"
"Hey Honey....You know you don't need to worry about him that much. We both know that it'll take a hell of a lot to actually kill him. And don't forget that he has that Navaris woman with him. So it's highly unlikely he is dead or even injured, he's probably just having fun terrorizing some random group of people, on whatever world he ended up on"
"...Yeah, I know. It just feels wrong to have him missing."
I sighed as my worries seemed to drift away. It was always like this with Marie, she had this unnatural ability to calm you, and make all of your worries disappear.
"Anyway, I have something that should provide you with a little distraction, you know to relax"
I glanced down as Marie's hands undid the front of my pants. I smiled, She was right, Azran was probably fine and I did need a distraction, I could resume the search tomorrow.
I spun and pushed her against the wall.
"Well, I'm distracted. Now what should we do next"
Marie gave a seducing smile and started to take off her shirt. I grinned, tonight would be a good night.
Azran POV
I stared at the sea of corpses that surrounded me, as numerous people tried to force down the doors, but my barrier held and they shoved for no reason.
"Sh***********t!" I yelled.
"How the hell am I supposed to get back now. I just killed the only people who might have known how to send people back across the void. DAAAAMMMMMIIIIIIIIT!"
However; after about 15 minutes of solid cursing, during which I not only used every curse I knew twice, but also invented some rather interesting curses of my own, I realized that I knew someone, who had traveled through the void before.
"Hey Navaris"
"..............."
"NAVARIS!!"
"..............."
"OMG Navaris, are you SLEEPING!?"
"Well whatever, as long as I'm stuck in some fantasy world I guess I should look around.................OMG! I just realized that they brought me here to kill the Demon King. I mean I knew, I just didn't realize it. I wonder if the Demon Kings here are the same as they are back on Earth."
"Huh, this might not be so bad after all"
With that I dropped the barrier and teleported a thousand feet straight up. As I stared at the surroundings, I grinned. I was in a fantasy world, where literally anything was possible, if I was lucky I could fight a dragon or something. The ones back home tended to avoid me after I ripped the wings off their leader for insulting me.
I teleported once more, to the entrance of the forest, that could barely be seen from the castle's walls.
"Watch out world, I'm here and there's nothing you can do about it. BWAHAHAHA!!"
And with more than a few questioning stares from the grazing goats, who obviously had no idea how to deal with an insane genius, I entered the forest.
