Chapter 02
I laughed as pain wracked my body.
Most people would scream in pain, but I was laughing because as long as I could feel pain, I was alive, and as long as I was alive, I could escape.
I looked around but it was pitch black in every direction. I grinned, the darkness didn't scare me, I was the darkness. If I wanted this could become my new home. It was perfect, no noisy neighbors, or painful light, just deep, rich darkness.
Well, there was the problem of soul shredding pain that accompanied every waking moment of your life. But hey, no place is perfect right.
'Navaris, you there?' I tried to establish a telepathic connection with her.
'Yes. I am currently inside your head, since there are no shadows here'
'Oh.......For some reason I don't find that creepy, it's almost....Sexy. I wonder if this place affects your mind, because if it doesn't I may have some problems.'
'This place does not affect your mind, unless you count going insane as affecting your mind'
'Yeah, well I'm already insane so.......I geuss I have problems. Wait how do you know it doesn't affect my mind?'
'Because this was my former home. This is the void that exists between dimensions. We were pulled into a type of summoning, so I stopped us here in the void. Was that wrong?'
'No. That was good, any idea of what is on the other side of the summoning or why they were trying to summon me'
'No, I have never been to this world, but I know that they are amateurs when it comes to magic, or at least summoning. They simply threw out a massive spell to summon someone strong from another world.'
'Well that's dumb. They think that they can pull me into another world to fulfill some petty request, with absolutely no care for my opinion. Yeah, Well I HAVE A LIFE TOO! YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN COMMAND ME!! THE KING OF DARKNESS. I'LL FREAKING SLAUGHTER YOU!'

Somewhere deep inside I knew that my anger was irrational but who cares, I kept thinking about it and the more I thought the angrier I became, until finally I yelled
"Navaris! Take us to this other world and if they don't have a really freaking good reason for summoning me......I WILL RIP THEIR KINGDOM TO SHREDS!!!"
What can I say, I can hold one heck of a grudge. {Note: Do NOT piss of Azran, Very Bad things will happen to you if you do}
'Of course'
One moment later a blinding light enveloped me, leaving me just enough time to mutter
"Light, Why did have to be light?"
The world seemed to spin for a second before it stopped and I staggered for a moment before regaining my balance.
I glanced around quickly, it seemed that I was in a medieval style castle. I was standing in the middle of a rather large summoning circle, while the hall was filled with knights, soldiers, a rather large assortment of mages, and several archers. All of whom were standing between me and the throne.
I smirked when I looked at the throne. A rather short man, with an enormous stomach, a long white beard, and dull blue eyes was sitting on the throne, next to a tall thin woman, with intelligent green eyes, and long blond hair. She was probably at least 30 years younger than the king.
I took all this in before infusing my voice with mana, sending it booming throughout the hall.
"What hast thou summonned me for, worthless mortals"
I always enjoyed playing the bad guy and this was the perfect situation. I could easily fool all of them into thinking I was some really important guy with awesome powers.
Oh......Wait......I am a really important guy with awesome powers. Crap!! There goes that option. I opened a telepathic link to Navaris.

'Hey Navaris, If they say something unbelievably cliche and worthless, like "We have summonned you to defeat the Demon King" I swear I am going to kill everyone in this room starting with the fat old guy.'
'Of course, would you like me to intervene when they attack.'
'No, I'd rather not let anyone know that you exist, you know like how you hide a trump card till the end then suprise everyone with it.'
Huh. I don't really feel angry anymore, Oh well, that's what comes from being insane. There's really no logic to the way you think, one moment you're happy, the next you're slaughtering a whole bunch of not so innocent people.
"We have summoned you to defeat the horrible Demon King and his monstous forces"
Oh, look at that, All my anger came back. Time to relieve a whole lot of stress.
"DIE, HUMAN SCUM!!!!"

The Court of Souls?
What do we talk about tonight?~“How about a story?”~Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one.~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~Was it strong then?~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it?~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~So he became a hero and changed the world?~»…”~Tell me.~“Nooo, that’s not how the story goes. This isn’t a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was… kinder than the rest.”~A kind demon? How boring.~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~So tell the story!

If anyone asked Eric if he hated his life or not, he would definitely state that yes, he did indeed hate his life. He was the kind of person who much preferred to stay in their room all day, daydreaming about all the fantastic lives he could be living, rather than the terrible one he's living now. Luckily for Eric, such an opportunity presents itself one night, on his eighteenth birthday. Dropped into the fantasy world of Allaria, Eric finds that he now has a second shot at living the life he dreams of. Unfortunately, not only does he have no idea what he's doing, but he soon comes to realize that this new world doesn't particularly care about him at all, and that there are many people out in this new world that aren't exactly the most fantastic bunch of folks. After being forced into working for a group of ragtag outcasts with questionable morals, Eric finds that life in this fantasy world is a whole lot more work than he originally thought.

Behold my journal of darkness, my fiendish ramblings, my exorcizing of my discontent of being a night dweller in this age of technology with eye pads and eye phones. Honestly, how is a blood sucker supposed to get a meal around here when there's so many eyes? It sounds unnatural, and that's coming from me.
