《Binary Progression》Volume 1 - Chapter 23: The new game.

The global chat was flooded with complaints and questions - "Who is this guy with an admin account?" or "What is he going to do?" and "Is he actually a fu#*ing pervert?"
"XxFoxlyxX: I'm really sorry I can't go hang out with you guys, since allegedly the apocalypse is coming in the form of a single dude, people are selling everything they have for pennies!"
"Bonifacius: Fear not, froggy-friend, We shall meet again!"
Bonifacius was carrying JohnWillStab over his shoulder as the real JohnWillStab was busy trying to sleep or fighting the urge to throw up - which he refused to do for fear of seeing any blood and having to seek actual medical attention.
These issues were why JohnWillStab was still logged-in in the first place.
"♕: That dumbass is going to kill himself with the energy drinks..."
"Bonifacius: Perhaps, but thou must admire his dedication!"
"♕: I admire his fu#*ing kidneys for still being there!"
XxFoxlyxX waved as he walked away leaving ♕ and Bonifacius as well as John's character.
"♕: Have you been reading the global chat?"
"Bonifacius: I have indeed, tis quite unusual."
"♕: There's no way an admin actually came back, is there?"
"Bonifacius: I know not - but perhaps we should investigate?"
"♕: Do you people just... like... not have a feeling of self-preservation or something?"
"Bonifacius: I am merely pondering possibilities."
"JohnWillStab: I'm back..."
"♕: ...somehow."
"Bonifacius: Good, thou can still write."
"JohnWillStab: Yeah..."
All of JohnWillStab's replies came after a solid five to ten second delay.
"JohnWillStab: yeah... I f#*ked up..."
"♕: ...no shit."
"Bonifacius: So long as thou refrains from repeating thy mistake thou are better off!"
"♕: If he doesn't die that is."
"JohnWillStab: Thank god I didn't drink all the energy drinks I bought..."
"Bonifacius: Indeed. However, it would seem that we cannot return to the norm just yet - have thou read the global chat?"
"JohnWillStab: No?"
JohnWillStab looked over to the global chat and saw people constantly talking about the admin returning and banning players.
"JohnWillStab: Didn't you say all the admins quit?"
"♕: They did, keeping this game running stressed them out enough - the lack of pay was more than they could handle."
JohnWillStab's screen cut to black as he was kicked out of the game - a message appeared on his screen: "initium novum!"
Confused, JohnWillStab logged back into the game seeing that the interface was screwed up - from a bluish-purple design the game was a golden colour, the custom font was replaced with MCS_papyrus.

JohnWillStab clicked the log-in button after entering his info.
JohnWillStab entered the game and found his character was missing, the interface looked the same except maybe a slight colour-shift.
He clicked the "Embark on a new journey!" button that replaced the previous "Create new character" button.
Immediately he was shocked to see all races except the human were removed from the game.
"He didn't even change the model of the human! It's just the normal human texture too!" John thought as he reluctantly chose a human.
The advanced design of the player was gone, replaced by a drop-down menu from which you could choose the three human models.
"Normal" "Fat" or "Muscular"
"..."
John selected the muscular option before going into the next menu, a clear rip-off of the hair and facial-hair menu from the game, the only difference being the players had only five hair-colours to pick from.
"Black" "Blond" "Grey" "Ginger" or "Brown"
JohnWillStab picked black and moved on.
His character looked like a Chinese knock-off JohnWillStab.
Next, he selected a class,
Warrior...
Paladin...
Priest...
Shaman...
Warlock...
Necromancer...
Rogue...
Hunter...
Druid...
Mage...
He selected rogue, then a name-selection box appeared.
"Please enter a valid name!" read the massage.
JohnWillStab entered "JohnWillStab" into the menu.
"Sorry, names don't have capital letters without spaces! Try a valid name!"
"..."
He entered: "John Will Stab"
"Sorry, the word "will" doesn't seem like a real name-word! Try a valid name!"
"Seriously?" John thought as he re-wrote his name once more.
He entered "John"
"Sorry, Try a valid name!"
"..."
"You son of a bitch..."
"Jonathan Willth puncture"
"..."
John began to sweat as the message-box processed his name.
"Hmmmm...."
"I guess you're fine... but I'll keep an eye on you..." threatened the name-selection box.
JohnWillStab breathed a sigh of relief as his character appeared in a massive field.
"{JonathanW...: Hello?}"
"{JonathanW...: ...they didn't even show my full username...}"
"{JonathanW...: What! What's with the dialogue boxes?!}"
JohnWillStab looked around, he looked to his skill bar which was also now covered in a gold coat of paint.
He had ten skills and nothing else.
He moused his cursor over a random skill and it read "Rogue-Slash! Skill level: 1"
"Deals its level worth of damage to the enemy,"
"Use this ability to increase its level!"
The icon was a hue-shifted "slash" icon from the game.
He used it and the player performed a slash, even the attack animation was the same.
"What the hell?! Is this some in-game event?"

JohnWillStab clicked the 'M' key and opened up his map, he saw that a little north of where he spawned was a small town.
"I need to find the others..." he thought.
"{Kilin: Hello?}"
"{JonathanW...: A player?}" John looked over and saw the human female standing behind him with the generic long-hair haircut.
"{Kilin: yeah, do you have any clue what the heck's going on?}" she asked.
"{JonathanW...: No, not really - the game just crashed and now it's... this...}"
"{Kilin: Do you think its the work of that guy with the admin account?}" she asked.
"{JonathanW...: ...the what?}"
"{JonathanW...: Oh, right! Bonifacius mentioned it!}"
"{Kilin: Right, well - do you think he'd be willing to fix the game?}" she asked.
"{JonathanW...: ...}"
"{JonathanW...: I find that unlikely...}"
JohnWillStab turned towards the town and began making his way forward.
"{JonathanW...: Anyway, cya}"
"{Kilin: Wait, where are you going!?}"
"{JonathanW...: There's a town north of here, I bet me and my friend would stand a better chance of fixing this together!}"
"{Kilin: Fixing it?}"
"{JonathanW...: Yeah, I mean - I bet they're going to try and fix this, right?}"
Kilin ran up to John.
"{Kilin: Hang on! I'll come with you!}"
"Is this another roleplayer?!" thought John.
"{JonathanW...: k}"
Meanwhile...
Foxly and "Crown" sat in the small inn, north of where John spawned.
"{Crown: Alright... I think I got it...}"
"{Foxly: Got what?! You didn't tell me why you were AFK this long!}"
The room was made from already existing models in the game, just jumbled around to look original.
The building itself would seem creative if not for the fact modular-buildings were already a thing in-game, so the model wasn't made by Alexander either.
"{Crown: I made my hacking API work with this "game"}"
"{Foxly: Wha....?}"
"{Crown: I can cheat...}"
"{Foxly: Oh, cool.}"
She had her program print out the names of everyone in the game, there were only three-hundred players.
"{Crown: I have three-hundred usernames, give me a minute and I'll figure out JohnWillStab's and Bonifacius' usernames...}"
Foxly picked Crown up.
"{Foxly: I don't think we have a minute to spare!}" he cried.
But she was already AFK.
Above Crown's character (a ginger, female human with generic, long hair) appeared a neon-red message.
"CHEATER"
In the ground opened up a swirling vortex of black and blue as from it rose a knight, clad in black armour head to toe, not a single bit of skin or hair was visible.
Glassy black orbs were attached to its helm, in its hand, it clutched a massive black axe.
"{Anti-Cheat: I have come to collect your head &n(target) !}" exclaimed the creature.
Foxly hovered his mouse over it.
"Health: 999,999,999"
"WE'RE FUCKED!" thought Foxly.
Seeing his chance, Foxly rushed at the window, it didn't break like it used to in-game.
Foxly clicked on the window as his character played the slash animation, but in reality, opened the window.
He leapt out, Crown in hand as he began fleeing from the town.
"{Anti-Cheat: You cannot escape justice!}" exclaimed the boss as it teleported behind them, it began playing the slash animation, but that required it to stand still as Foxly made it away.
Again, the anti-cheat exclaimed: "You cannot escape justice!" as it appeared behind Foxly, only to be out-run by Foxly when it had to stand-still to attack.
This pattern continued over and over as Crown read through the list of usernames.
"Jerry"
"Garry"
"Bob"
"Generics"
"Bromy"
"Sphagettinator"
"JetFuelCantBeamSteel"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Jonathan Willth Puncture"
"Bonenifficus"
"Aha!" Crown thought as she copied their user IDs that were next to their usernames.
She clicked back into the game and saw Foxly carrying her away from a massive knight clad in black armour and wielding a massive axe.
"{Crown: WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED IN THE TWO MINUTES I WAS GONE!?}"
"{Foxly: The anti-cheat in this game works a bit different!}"
They noticed the chat didn't filter out the word "fuck".
"{Anti-Cheat: You cannot escape justice!}" exclaimed the knight as he teleported behind Foxly once more before standing still and drawing his weapon back.
Foxly just ran forward as the blade struck the ground, it cracked exposing dozens of dirt particles.
"{Crown: Oh, damn... the AI is all sorts of broken...}" she remarked.
They ran away from the town and through a forest of tall trees, these were tree models exclusive to northern Arlepia in the original game.
The grass was a vibrant green colour, so were the trees.
The cobblestone road ran through the forest, cutting down into the hilly terrain, forming a road-valley of sorts.
Crown selected the NPC in her cheating API and changed its health to "0/0"
The NPC disappeared without ever playing a death animation.
"{Crown: Oh thank fuck...}"
"{Foxly: TOO EARLY TO CELEBRATE!}"
Foxly pointed forward at the two new Anti-cheat knights that appeared, both looking identical.
"{Anti-Cheat: You cannot escape justice!}" they both exclaimed as they teleported behind Foxly.
