Chapter 11.3: A Friend of Justice
Several hours of dedicated study had passed and Scott decided to take a break. Between his demon contracting book and the Internet he felt quite fulfilled for the day. “I think I should try making a contract soon.”
He was not quite certain if he was ready for that, yet. However, he did feel more confident now that his spirit stat was over one hundred points. Minimal spirit for summoning and contracting with even a weak lesser imp was ninety-three points, a weirdly specific number as far as he was concerned.
Conjuration was a power devoted to calling forth spirits and demons to perform tasks, such as the wisp he summoned. The book specifically described imps as destructive and annoying little shits. They had their uses, but he could do better.
What he really wanted to summon was a demon capable of teaching him spell patterns for dark magic. He would learn his own racial magic whenever he reached a new age category, but his other magical abilities required study and training.
He shut down his computer then yawned. After a moment, he blinked. “Hey, is it Thursday or Friday?”
Scott checked his phone to find out the current date and then he checked the calendar. A slow grin slid across his face.
“Hell yeah, payday.”
He maintained a bank account solely for direct deposit of his meager pittance. Curious, he did not check his bank account online. Instead brought up his status menu and checked his wealth.

“Wow, so much Jerin. I could almost buy Sonja again.” said Scott. He snorted then shook his head. She was a nice girl. Hopefully she would be able to reunite with her family in the Highlands.
Thoughts of Sonja brought a smile to his face. She certainly made adventuring more fun. She had helped a lot, and had even shared many good tips on the proper way to swing a sword.

“It is too bad really. If life really were a game all I would have to do is summon her to my side and she would appear.” said Scott.
He laughed at that a little. The idea of Sonja dealing with modern Earth was hilarious. After a moment, it hit him, though. He had realized something profound. He could summon wisps from the abyss. Why wouldn’t it work to call Sonja?
Scott raised his hand up and cried out, “Sonja, come to me!”
The jewel on his ring flared brightly for a moment. A brief outline of a woman appeared in mid-motion. Scott started to say something, but what he was going to say was cut off by a sudden impact of a leather boot to his chest.
He was knocked back with great force and fell over the back of his couch before he rolled down onto the floor. Scott cried out, “Dammit woman!”
The owner of the boot called out, “Master?” in a surprised and curious voice.
Scott poked his head up, no worse for wear. “I wonder.”
Sonja blinked at him then grinned. The Valkyrie sheathed her sword then bounded over to him. “Master!”
The dynamic duo were together once more, even if one of them had a bruised ribcage and the other had similar marks on her lower back where a certain slave symbol was set. They shared a brief look before Scott spoke up. “No, way. You’re actually here?”
“Yes! Of course, I am!” She puffed out her chest then blinked. “Where is here, exactly?”
“Sorry, I brought you to my world.” said Scott. He did not even bother to ask why she had kicked him. She was probably in the middle of training when he summoned her.
“Oh, I see! So, this is one of the worlds of a traveler. How interesting.” said Sonja. She looked around to see what there was to see. It did not take long before she began to notice strange and interesting items.
“So much space. Is this your home, master?” asked Sonja. She noticed the sink in the kitchen and immediately gravitated toward it.

“Ah, yes. I own the place, such as it is.” said Scott.
Sonja tilted her head left and right while looking at various things. “So many strange items.”
Scott smiled softly. The Valkyrie had seemed curious about his world on occasion. It was good to see that she could at least visit here.
He decided to show her around the house. She marveled at the simplest things. Whenever a light was turned on she would gasp then smile happily. The first time it happened she had actually clapped. She was proud of her master for being able to create light without casting a spell.
After showing her around, Scott relinquished his form once more and returned to his dragon self. He had tried to remain human for as long as possible and had managed to force himself to retain that shape for over two hours at a time so far.
Sonja glanced at him then bit her lower lip. Her eyes widened a little and her eyebrows rose into the air.
Scott sighed loudly. “Fine, go ahead.”
She made a happy little noise then scooped him up into her arms. Sonja hugged him tightly to her chest then giggled merrily. “Who’s mama’s good boy?”
Scott sighed. “I am...”
Sonja squealed excitedly then kissed him on the side of his scaly face. Scott’s eyes narrowed and he sighed once more.
She spun around and started to dance with him. It was quite embarrassing for the little dragon. He hoped that he would grow larger soon. He was supposed to be a badass lord of darkness, not some overly amorous warrior woman’s pet lizard.
Eventually, after whipping her across the ass with his tail a few times, she released her master. While Sonja rubbed her reddened backside and pouted at the little dragon, Scott opted to show her how things worked.
She marveled at the thing known as the microwave. The stove made her gasp in delight. The toilet was surprisingly efficient.
Scott had thought that she might not be able to accept things so easily, but then he remembered that she was born on a magical fantasy world where talking magical lizards and screaming onions were common place things. A toaster probably did not incite terror in her heart.
They made their way to the living room. Scott bid her sit on the couch and she did so. She was delighted by the comfort level of her seat.
“This is called a television. It’s a bit hard for me to use in this form, but I can show you.” said Scott.
“Yes, please. Show me everything about your world!” Sonja practically bounced in her seat.
The dragon poked and prodded at his remote for a moment then managed to turn on his television set. He also accidentally set it for an HDMI setting instead of a standard television setting.
“Crap... Hold on.” He kept fiddling with it and turned on his Blu-Ray player by mistake. “Well, damn.”
Sonja giggled at him. “Having trouble, master?”
He gave her a look then sighed. However, his sigh turned to absolute embarrassment a moment later.
“Oh Amber! I can’t believe your boyfriends dick is so big!” called out an unfamiliar voice.
Scott blinked slowly then his cheek scales turned a light pink color. They both turned slowly toward the television. Two beautiful women were writhing in ecstatic bliss while a shady looking guy with tattoos took charge of their bodies.
Sonja’s eyes lit up and she leaned forward. “Oh my...”
“It hurts, oh it hurts!” cried out one of the onscreen entertainers.
“Uh...” said Scott.
Sonja paid him no mind. She was far more interested in what was on screen at the moment.
“You should see what else he can do Mizuki!” called out the honey blond.
The oily looking guy groaned loudly and several tentacles sprouted from his back. Mizuki cried out in surprise then turned toward the camera. She flashed a peace sign then winked and smiled in an exaggerated manner.
Sonja glanced over at her master then laughed. He had hid his head under a couch cushion. She tapped him on the back and he spasmed a little. She could not stop laughing after that. He was just too cute.
