When I woke up, I didn't try to look at my surrounding I could feel Lisa near me, so I focused to see at my status screen.

And when I opened it I wasn't surprised but by how much I gained from killing those dogs I couldn't remember how much I killed since when I killed one another jumped at me the next time.

But after that, I saw that I gained another path and it was related to short sword mastery.

I saw that I gained 210 energy points and I allocate forty energy to short sword mastery to see what kind of information I will gain and after allocating them the short sword mastery disappeared, even if giving it away hut me I endured hoping it will be worse the price.

but I was sure that I could gain them easily as long that I only a group of level one rat or dog it should be at least think.

After I finished allocating ii I felt a strong headache with energy entering my brain, I endured it and one second later I could somehow instinctively know how to grab my sword how to position myself, and put enough weight for easier movement when in battle like if I could image of someone explaining it to me.

But I wasn't sure I could make those movements so easily during a fight.

' i will try it to the next group of beasts we will fight '

but the more strange the leader path that didn't require energy point it advanced a little and I still couldn't feel anything thing different about me or information entering my brain.

since I couldn't figure it out I will let this like this but since it doesn't require energy it should be special or maybe not.

After checking, I opened my eyes ready to stand since I could feel that my body now full of energy again when I got up Lisa who was looking at the surroundings came next to me checking if I was ok.

I was relieved that she stopped whatever happened while we were fighting, I looked to see where the others and I saw that they were next to the corpse of the variant dog I killed.

" come let's go see what they are doing "

I just nodded noting to test the meat beast if I have the time later.

We finished eating and then started to once look around the neighborhood and this time we noticed while advancing that little by little the city was louder with howls and growls happening at any corner of the road making it hard for us to advance in the street without having to fight some little group of rat dog and even insect but those were really weak and we could deal with them quickly.

It looked like not all species evolved to be deadly for humans but we still didn't let our guard down, the sun was starting to set, and with how much we've gained from dealing with small groups beasts we should have been able to level again before the night came.

But with the beasts getting more in the street even if we could gain level more easily the risk of was getting higher so we decided to deal with one last big group it should be risky but if we could finish them all we should be able to level tomorrow while we start to go for search Emily and hector families.

But before we could do something about that I saw a screen appearing in front of me once again, I couldn't understand the meaning of this Screen I looked at the others and it seemed they too received the same notifications.

But before I could say something I saw a small group of rats and dogs coming from all around us they were fighting each other and in the sky, some birds were now too fighting with different bird species.

I didn't have time to think about this new screen and now a group of beasts coming out of nowhere when just a moment ago there were only howls and growls something was wrong and I will not wait to know the answer.

my heart was starting to beat faster and I could feel the energy circling inside of me, powering me ready for any situation happening as the feeling of danger was increasing tremendously each passing second.

But I made a mistake under the stress of the sudden change occurring too fast to have the time to process the situation properly, and that my life was in danger as it was the only way I had to voice what I could feel, I screamed which attracted the attention of some beasts and they all rushed toward us.

I could only blame myself to give up on my panic and I quickly looked around me trying to find a way out and I saw a building of at least five floors with a rooftop.

it should be enough for us at least to not have to worry to be surrounded by evolved beasts.

I was about to run when I saw that they already started to run toward the building so I didn't wait and followed them.

when we were running we could hear their scream with the sound of cars being crushed by their weight.

But we didn't turn back to look and continued to run and we were able to enter all inside the entrance was closed but Fred used his hammer breaking the glass, they entered and they were just a few meters from us.

I entered the last and placed my sword in front of me my two hands tightening their grip on the handle, and since the door was an electronic one they had to break it and the building having two entrance door didn't help us and the evolved beasts were already in front of the entrance.

So I was about to gain some time for them but

I felt someone grabbing my shoulder stopping me from coming out

I turned my head to see who was grabbing my shoulder, and it was john

" what don't you see they need at least to gain even second for letting them break this door and besides I want to taste something "

when I finished my sentence I felt my body shiver and my blood burning making it travel faster I know what it means since each time I was in danger it was like a mechanic of defense that makes me use a burst of power to react fast at an incoming danger.

So knowing this I turned my body with a quick spine of my waist followed by my sword that I swung toward where I felt the danger, and I felt my sword heating the flesh of something with all the fight I went through I could now distinguish the sensation of flesh touching even with my eyes closed.

But I didn't give up because of that and put more force into my sword piercing the skin of whatever attacked me, I took this chance to see what attacked me, that fell on the floor staining it with blood and the wall at the same time.

I saw it was something like a cat but much bigger than the one we encountered before it was about the size of an adult dog with his black fur flowing with the energy around it I could sense that the energy of this cat was stronger than the level 1 cat from before even if his strength was the same as them since the only strange thing was the increase in energy of his body.

" damn sure you have good instinct come on now they have opened the door and this one seemed to be faster than the other so we better enter now "

John called me while looking at the dead cat and pointed at the evolved beast horde who now was just an at one meter from us and with their speed, it will only take one breath to catch up.

John when he saw the two girls were about to go crazy this time it wasn't a joke and still they were here waiting for who knows what.

' do they want to die so much, better do it after when I am not around, and what the problem with those why they number increased in just one second '

" we will fight in the stair otherwise if they keep entering like that who knows they might even destroy the building "

claire was the first to react faster when she noticed the beasts that were jumping at them behind

Chris after running was already in front of claire and didn't have the time to stop and even claire herself, even if she was ready to run at the same time when they reach them wasn't ready with the speed when she felt Chris grabbing her by the waist then run toward the staircase.

After I took claire while running I looked at John and Emily the guys seemed to not want to fight now too and grabbed Emily, as I did with claire.

claire was about to curse him but stopped when she saw the beasts were already at their previous spot

She couldn't understand what was happening and was already running the staircase trying to catch up with the others.

At the same the others on the first floor waiting for them and since Edward's shield was enough big he stayed at the door on the first floor blocking the path to the rooftop at the same time too.

" yeah trust me about this one it will work "

Edward finally the time to shine it been a long time but now his leg was fully healed and Lisa was able to move but still it will take some time before she could move freely her lag.

So she stayed behind, but she heard the voice of footstep coming from below and came toward Edward and say to him

- " yeah I know, calm down you boyfriend want to die because I just waited for a second "

After he said that he saw a shadow hitting his shield making him almost fall but he quickly takes a good hold of the shield but then he heard someone cursing him.

" Edward you better have a good reason to block us or you will have to paid for this "

Edward couldn't figure out why Emily was cursing him but when he let them enter he saw Emily with a huge boss on her forehead.

" And who told you to not look in front of you "

she was about to slap him when her hand was grabbed by claire

" Emily stop, it's not the time for this and they are already here "

after Chris let her go she saw Emily wanting to fight for who knows what and stopped her quickly.

I looked at Edward I Wanted to ask him what happened but quickly gathered my attention to the current matter

" ok listen to me, I fought with one or two of those beasts and they seem to not have greatly changed except that their energy increased by a huge marge making their attack stronger but we can deal with them as long as we use the staircase since it seems you want to do that but we will change turn every five minutes while the other others are staying behind ready to change place or help quickly. "

I explained to them what I learned after I fought with those new beasts when we were trying to catch up on the stairs but I wasn't sure what really changed I could see something new about the gain in energy but didn't check my status to see it.

and after one minute they catch up with us they were fighting among themself while going upstairs making the call have some cracks but nothing big.

but when they saw us they stopped fighting and run toward us we were able to block them easily with Edward shield but it was when we let them enter that it became dangerous and the fact that their number was starting to push us back so we decided to take five-step back making them fall in front of us making them easy prey for us and even Sarah had to fight since her skill will not help here and only harm us.

after one hour we were already at the rooftop and we almost killed all the beast and the others outside didn't seem to want to wait longer and instead go to others buildings next to this one and we could hear voices asking for help and fight happening but we were ourself in trouble so we kept the same pattern.

We were now on the rooftop the staircase had the smell of flesh and blood making it hard to breathe inside so we stayed in the open but still kept an eye on the sky for any danger.

" Are you sure about this guy wouldn't it be better to wait for tomorrow and we should be able to level up quickly "

Emily looked at us hearing that we wanted to fight one pack of evolved beasts who looked to be all at level 2.

It was one huge pack of about fifty dogs that we found when hiding on the rooftop of the building since all of sudden all the beasts in the city somehow started to come out from every side which only settled after 2 hours later but there was still some little group left and this group was of middle size. the largest one was about one hundred of them.

And they somehow seemed to have lessened leaving only stronger beast in the street and the common level was level two and the higher level 4.
