《History of the Orcs According to, The Beginning: Breath Of War》History of the Orcs - The Dwarves March to Battle

Word of Warlord Magorbark's victory spread far and fast to all corners of the Redling Nation. Destroying much of the Redling rebellion that promptly began to jerk about in its death throes, as City after City and Town after Town seeing no way to defeat the enemy, chose to surrender rather than suffer the brutalities of a siege. Still there were a few Cities like Salaquin, who remembered the horrors that were brought down upon them and refused to give up without a fight. Having received missives from their spies in the Dwarven Realms that a great army of Dwarves were gathering near the Redling border, Lord Calwin newly elected Defender of Salaquin immediately sent word to the Dwarven Commanders begging for their aid in the hopes the Dwarven forces would come to their rescue.
The Dwarves hankering to get into the fight, after the destruction brought down upon them, declared that they would do what they can, but they would need help in capturing the Fortress of BrokenSkull, since it would take many months to dig under it's walls. Calwin upon hearing this bit of news, set out with a force of two hundred fighters disguised as slaves and marched to the Fortress of BrokenSkull. There using his wits and cunning, he convinced the Ogrekan mercenary in charge of holding the Fortress, that he had brought more slaves for the Orc pits. Then in the dead of night, he along with his warriors fought a bitter battle that cost most of their lives to open the gates and allow the waiting Dwarven Armies through to join the fight. Overwhelmed by thousands of skilled Dwarven fighters appearing from within the dead of night, the fortress fell quickly.
Commander Balgrief then wasting no time, commanded all their armies to pass through the Fortress to the other side, where he immediately began preparations to march towards the City of Salaquin. Bringing with him roughly 130,000 Dwarven Warriors, 19,000 Elite Warriors, 8,600 Wardemons and 310 Armored Titans for transport on the surface. Within days the Dwarven armies were ready to advance, when a Cenaturn messenger arrived within the Dwarven War camp desiring to speak with Balgrief about an mutual alliance that would benefit both the Horselords and the Dwarves. While many Dwarven Lords advised Balgrief against allying themselves with the cowardly race, Balgrief saw within the Centaurs the same desire for revenge and agreed to the alliance, further alienating the Dwarven nobility.
The Centaurs with 28,000 warriors quickly assembled to meet the Dwarven forces, who allowed them passage through the Fortress of BrokenSkull. Once the two armies were gathered together, Balgrief led their combined forces south-west, pushing deeper into Redling territory, where they found hundreds of Redlings sick of Orcish occupation ardently welcoming their arrival, growing their army even further. Enough that Lord Marwil the new commander soon had a small army of 4,000 Redlings under his command with more coming in each day.

Meanwhile Warlord Magrobark busy besieging the City of Sarnak, having heard the news of the Dwarven, Centaurn and Redling armies advancing towards him realised he was endanger of being cut off from any support from the Orcish Empire if he remained here any longer. Launching a swift night assault, Magrobark razed the City of Sarnak to the ground, before beginning a forced march towards the Prickly Beast, where he would make his stand. Night and day the Orc Warhordes marched, until they arrived at the fortress. Where Magrobark set to work strengthening the fortifications around the great fortress, alerting the nearby Orc slave camps in Caldasher to request fresh goblin warriors to bolster his armies, and a call to the Red Dragons to see if they would be willing to fight.
By the time the two opposing armies were about to meet, Warlord Magrobark had managed to reinforce his Warhordes with 3,000 additional Orc warriors and 16,000 Goblin fighters, bringing his total strength to 46,000 Orc warriors (6,000 Berserkers; 2,800 Iron Skins; 2,500 Unblooded, and 1,500 Orc Shields.) and 37,000 Goblin warriors. Barely a fraction of what the Balgrief and his allied armies were able to amass together. With that grim thought in mind, he commanded the Unblooded to the top of the Prickly Beasts walls where they could fire into the enemy without putting themselves in too much danger. He then commanded the Goblin forces to vanish at the first appearance of the enemy armies into the surrounding mountainside. Broke his Iron Skin warriors up into two forces and positioned them to either side of his main force and commanded the Berserkers to the rear of the army to act as reserves.
Commander Balgrief a proven warrior himself with a keen sense for strategy, deployed the Wardemons to the flanks of his army to oppose the Iron Skins he had heard so much about, which would be supported by Centaurn forces that would pepper the enemy. He then formed up the bulk of Armoured Titans in the center of his army, with the Redling forces in reserve. A position Lord Marwil disliked immensely, who saw it as an affront to the Redlings who were fighting for their homeland. Aware he had to be diplomatic, Balgrief reluctantly agreed to use the Redlings in the vanguard of his army where the Dwarven Elites were positioned; forcing him to detach a few companies of Dwarven Warriors to act as reserves. With his battle plans settled, Balgrief decided to commence his attack near the break of dawn, where his Dwarven forces would not be held at such a disadvantage, and his Centaurn allies would be able to roam freely firing into the enemy.

The Armoured Titans filled with Dwarven Elites and Redling warriors in the vanguard of the army rolled towards the waiting Orcish lines, when the Goblins massing at the foot of Orcish war host broke ranks to flee up into the Mountains. The Centaurs and Redlings sensing much easier prey than the Orc warriors, broke ranks to chase after the fleeing Goblins. Infuriating Balgrief, who was forced to send in the reserves to fill in the gaps left behind by their allied armies. Waves of crossbow bolts were fired from the Orcs atop the fortress, as well as the occasional crash of lighting. Protected by their war machines, the vanguard came through mostly unharmed, replying with their crossblades to injure dozens of Orc warriors, before the armored Titans came to a halt in front of the Orcish armies to unload thousands of Dwarven warriors that poured out quickly to form a solid line of steel, before charging in to meet the Orc warriors in their Obsidian plate armor.
The two hosts met with a thunderous clash that could be heard for miles, and blood began to spill. The Dwarves with greater numbers and disciple were quickly forcing the Orcish armies backwards, but Magrobark was not worried. So far his plans were moving along smoothly, that is until the Wardemons crashed into his Iron skinned warriors driving them back rapidly. Having never faced such mechanical monstrosities that methodical slashed away at his warriors, the Iron skins were pressed back exposing his flanks. Which the Dwarves swiftly swarmed in to take advantage of, unsure how to respond to these metallic creatures, he ordered the Iron Skins to hold their ground as best they could and unleashed his Berserkers to smash into the sides of Wardemons.
Incensed by the their inability to claw their way through the armor of the Wardemons to taste the flesh of the Dwarves within, the Berserkers set about breaking them apart limb from limb. Using their immense strength they knocked over the Wardemons so they couldn't move and wrenched off their weapons, before scooping out the Dwarves from inside and feasting upon them. With his flanks slowly being re-secured, Magrobark ordered his Iron Skins and Berserkers to hit the flanks of the enemy army to relieve his Orc warriors. Balgrief with no more reserves to commit to the battlefield is said have cursed the day he met the Redlings and Cenaturs, before taking his small unit of bodyguards and joining the raging battle ahead of him.
Eventually the Centaurs and Redlings realising they had been drawn away from the battle rushed back to support the Dwarven army that was gradually being pushed back, despite their greater advantage in numbers. With the arrival of the Centaurs and Redlings, the fighting began to sway back in their favor. With Cenaturn archers riding in at almost point blank range to weaken the ranks of the Berserkers and Ironskins that were folding up the Dwarven army, when out of no where the Goblins that had hidden themselves in the Mountain side reappeared in their rear to charge into the back of their ranks slaughtering hundreds of their warriors, before they were able to turn and face this new threat.
With morning soon approaching, Balgrief knew in his heart this battle was lost. The suns above would cripple his warriors eyesight making it easier for the Orcish armies to butcher his warriors. With no other option, he rallied his fighters and fought to break free of the Goblin forces that blocked off his retreat. Through the dust, blood and screams of battle the Dwarves carved a bloody path of death through the lines of the Goblins allowing the Dwarven army to pull back to their armored Titans and withdraw from the field.
Days later in the aftermath of the battle, Commander Balgrief the unifier was slain by an unknown assassin, many whispered was the work of the Dwarven Lords. With their leader dead, the great Dwarven armies crumbled within a matter of weeks. The Centaurs seeing no hope of victory returned home and the Redlings with no more allies to call upon vanished back into the desert wasteland to await a time, when they could return home. Warlord Magrobark hailed a hero for his victories was finally able to put an end to the Red Land rebellion and retake the Fortress of BrokenSkull.

Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets. Will Kardian be able to survive in this new savage world or will his naive outlook lead him to a dead end? Volume 1 can be bought on Amazon: Resonance High
