《History of the Orcs According to, The Beginning: Breath Of War》History of the Orcs - Rise of the Berserkers

Kozak Ka given the title of Warlord and command of almost three hundred thousand warriors, marched his forces north-west towards the borders of Orkeylium rather than south-west to meet the Orcish armies in the field of battle. A decision that had many of his allies questioning his choice, as it now seemed he was backing down from the fight. What the Ward Council and their allies had yet to realise was that the Orcish armies under the Command of Grozak had grown considerably in strength and size over the last couple of months. It was only until reports arrived of the Orc Shamans converting entire goblin tribes to their beliefs, along with dwarves, trolls and giants. That they realised the true threat the believers in Lord Sezrath posed to the entire world.
Seeing the power of this new threat, The Ward Council at the urging of Kozak Ka reluctantly agreed to reach out to the realm of the Minotaurs, to request military aid, but no word was heard back from them. With no more allies to call upon Kozak Ka readied his armies to meet the enemy. Within two short weeks the Grozak's warhosts had reached their borders with bloody skirmishes breaking out all across their defenses, testing for weaknesses. When the attack finally came, no one could have expected the ferocity and power of their assault. Lighting rained down from the heavens to blast holes in their ranks, dwarves burst up out of the ground to tear away at their defenses and wave after wave of the enemy threw themselves upon the defending warriors like maddened animals.
Only the Fae'lon managed hold their ground against the enemy meeting them blow for blow. Using their discipline, skill and speed to avoid being killed by these blood crazed savages. Still it was clear to see from the onset of battle that this fight was lost. Kozak rallied what remained of his Orc warriors and began a fierce fighting retreat alongside his allies the Fae'lon. Together they managed to break away from the enemy, before a new and more terrible threat was unleashed upon them. Among the ranks of Lord Sezrath's armies, the Orcs were beginning to transform. Blood filled their eyes. Their arms, thighs and legs bulged with new muscle and their skin became as dark as midnight. Thousands upon thousands of Orcs soon towered over their cousins as monstrous dark skinned giants.

It was only much later after the war that the survivors of the battle realised they had witnessed the first appearance of the Berserkers.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

The Many Lives of Cadence Lee
Cadence Lee thought she was a normal girl, perhaps a little well to do, but not exceptionally so. She had her college classes, she had her job that her uncle gave her, and she had a nice boyfriend who was sweet if a little awkward. Except, when a mugger accosts Cadence and her boyfriend attempts to wrestle a gun away from the criminal, Cadence ends up shot. A normal girl, with the kind of wound Cadence had, would die. Cadence managed to do that part. But a normal girl wouldn't then open her eyes again and learn that death is not as permanant for her as it is for other people. She can be reborn again, and again. Each time stronger and with new abilities. The catch? Any world she is born into, she can never return to. She has infinite lives, but only one life for each. So begins The Many Lives of Cadence Lee. Virtuous Sons: A Greco Roman Xianxia
Book one now available on Kindle. The saying goes that when a man is born the Fates weave his destiny and swaddle him in it. Then one day the man dies, and the swaddle becomes a shroud. Heaven moves on. It is audacity to question the Fates. Olympus is Olympus. The land of men is the land of men. To transgress that, to cross the line of divinity and scale Olympus Mons? To defy the Fates and cast off their threads? That is hubris. It’s a mark that every philosopher bears plainly on their soul.
