《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 16 - Just Told Me To Go

Taylor sat at the table, waiting for his parents to get home.

He was going to hit them with the news today. He was expecting some backlash, but what could he do? His decision was firm.

He could stay, but that could make the situation worse. And if the world tells you to go, you go. Why question it?

The door knob turned and the door creaked open.

“Taylor get out here and help with the groceries!” Taylor's mom calls out from the door.

“Yes, mom,” Taylor says as he gets up to help.

Taylor went outside with his dad to get the groceries from the car.

“So what's up? What do you want?” Taylor's mom asks. “Ran out of cash? Got girl issues? What's wrong?”

“Ugh…” Taylor hesitates at the barrage of questions.

“Come on, kid. Spit it out. We don't got all day.” Taylor's mom says.

“I'm moving out!” Taylor blurts out.

Taylor's mom looks at Taylor for a moment before looking to Taylor's dad. “You gonna say something to this kid?” Taylor's mom asks.

Taylor's dad was unimpressed. “Whatever. He's 18. Let him make his own mistakes. If he's brave enough to do it, let him do it.” He says, disinterested.

“Two men shouldn't be living in the same household anyway. It's against nature. In this house, I'll always be on top, and no man can be satisfied with being at the bottom of the pyramid.” He says before looking to Taylor.

“Hey, kid. Want some advice?” Taylor's dad asks him.

“What?” Taylor responds.

“Try starving once in awhile. The hunger could be useful for you one day.” Taylor's dad says with a smile.

Taylor's mom hits him on the shoulder. “It won't hurt you to speak less. Idiot.” She says before looking to Taylor. “Are you sure you want to go, Taylor? What's the rush?” She asks, concern in her voice. She watches for a moment as a hint of red appears on the boy's cheeks before frowning. “Ah, I see. No words are necessary, I guess. All you men are the same; the blood is never in the right place.” She says before giving a disapproving look to Taylor's father. “Anyways, that doesn't matter. Just make sure to visit home once in a while.” Taylor's mom says with a smile.

“Let's blow this joint.” Daryl says as he starts up the truck.

“Awesome. I'm going to sleep.” Taylor says as tries to find a comfortable position to rest in.

“Fuck man, at least keep me company. This is going to be a long ride.” Daryl says with a punch to Taylor's arm.

“Fuck, fine.” Taylor says as he looks ahead.

“Are you sure about moving out with me?” Taylor asks.

“Well, fuck. I'm already here, aren't I? And getting closer to the East Coast doesn't sound so bad.” Daryl answers. “Do you have the address for where we're stayin?” He asks.

“No, we have to find a place.” Taylor responds.

Daryl gives Taylor a blank stare. “What?” He asks.

“We gotta find a place.” Taylor responds again, before continuing. “The people sending me there just told me to go. They haven't made any arrangements.”

Daryl looks to Taylor again. “Are you dumb? Do we seriously not have a place to stay there? Do you know anyone there? Somewhere we could chill for a few days?” Daryl asks, annoyed.

“We'll just sleep in the truck for a few days…” Taylor responds.

Daryl rubs his forehead with his hand. “Fuck,” he exclaims. “This move is going to be a mistake.” He says with a sigh.
