《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 14 – Always Be Your Bro

Taylor took the bottle of hard liquor and began to pour alcohol into his glass. Dazed from the drama of life and already a little drunk, he shamelessly continued to pour until his cup was full.
“Damb bro; are you going to finish that?” Daryl asks on the other side of the kitchen table. “What's wrong? I'm not going to say anything because we're bros but it's considered a little rude when someone walks into your apartment with two 40 oz bottles and just starts drinking. I mean, it's a little funny, but it's even more depressing.” Daryl says with a hint of amusement.
Taylor took a big sip and gulped it down before giving his explanation. “I'm leaving the city,” He starts slowly before pausing to burp.
“Shit bro; you're leaving? When? And Where?” Daryl asks, bewildered by the sudden news.
“Yeah; I'll be leaving as soon as I figure out where I have to go,” Taylor answers before taking another sip.
“Damn bro; what about your girl?” Daryl asks casually while his mind wondered about his own life. Fuck, I should probably move too. My reputation in this city isn't the greatest right now… Daryl thought as he listened for Taylor's answer.
“I don't know. That's why I'm drinking. Drunk me will figure it out,” Taylor says sarcastically before laughing out loud. “She wants to make it work long distance, but that's just dumb. I'd rather just break up, but fuck me man, I can't get the words out of my mouth.” Taylor says before continuing to laugh bitterly.
“Why? Don't believe in true love?” Daryl says with a teasing smirk.
Taylor smiles bitterly. “Let's just say that if I met her in college, I wouldn't give two fucks about who she had waiting at her home town,” Taylor admits while cringing at the thought.

“Fuck man, me too,” Daryl says as his mind wanders to a faint image of Sylvie's figure.
Taylor throws a swift punch to Daryl's shoulder. “Shut the fuck up; don't get drool over your kitchen table.” Taylor says before taking another gulp of liquor.
Daryl wipes his mouth and tries to direct the conversation elsewhere. “Anyways, we should move away together. We'll be roommates! Two brothers against the world; no matter what happens, they'll always have someone at home to kiss them goodnight,” Daryl says with a wave of his hands, depicting a colourful image.
Taylor looked on with wide eyes. “Damn bro; if you want good-night kisses, you're going to have to put a ring on it. I don't want you looking at other dudes,” Taylor responds, somewhat curious at the idea of becoming roommates.
“Don't worry about that bro. I'll buy you a promise ring soon; a ‘I promise I'll always be your bro' ring,” Daryl says before reaching out for Taylor's hand.
“Bro,” Taylor responds, putting his other hand over Daryl's. “Do you really want to be roommates?” Taylor asks, genuinely curious.
“Of course, bro,” Daryl responds with a whisper. “Until I find a girlfriend, then you're on your own,” Daryl says with a straight voice before bursting out into laughter.
Taylor also laughs before feigning pain and clutching at his chest. “Bro, I thought we were special!” He says before continuing to laugh.
