Raina, Bunker.
“And?” the mother asked, having grown tired of the pause. Clearly, she lacked patience.
“I hid the fact that I was pregnant from Ocatvius while I planned my escape. There was no chance for it though. Octavius’s men watched me day and night, ensuring that I stuck to my side of the deal. It wasn’t until the Arlfords decided to shake things up that I finally had a chance. A chance I capitalised on and ended up here.” Raina finished
“So let me summarise. You got in a relationship you knew would be bad, it got your parents killed, and now you have come to this bunker with the result of that relationship while on the run from one of the most powerful Factions.” the mother said. “So tell me then mage, why should we let you remain here? Seems like we have only to lose if we do so.”
“I can teach. Your children are extremely uneducated about the possibilities of magic, I am a [Magic Scholar] I can help you there.” Raian said, having expected the question
“While I appreciate the offer, by your own admission you know nothing about Trevor’s magic. SO why shouldn’t we just wait until he’s a bit older and then have him go to a magic school instead?” the mother asked snidely
“Because the second they discover his magic they will have him sign so many contracts, stipulating the way he may act and live, basically turning him into an indentured slave.” Raina said.
The mother’s fists clenched at her words, but she did not protest them.
“And how do we know that you won’t do the same. After all you won’t always be a Grade 3 yes? Eventually you’ll become a Grade 4, how are we to deal with you then?” the mother asked
“You are underestimating your son, madam. First, I am a non-combatant, your son would still wipe the floor with me even as a Grade 4. Second, the chances of him remaining a Grade 4 by the time I am a Grade 4 are negligent. Transmigrators have a habit of growing quickly.” Raina answered
“Fine. We’ll discuss it and get back to you.” the mother said, dismissing Raina leaving Raina with one question. Wher was she supposed to go?
I was excited. After our encounter with mis Aloise, Meemauy had been furious with me for using my magic so haphazardly.

Thankfully, the fact that I used it to help people was not lost on her and she had decided not to punish me.
More than that, I had received an official commendation from the Algrean Word Council for my acts. It didn’t actually do anything but a commendation was a commendation.
The headmaster, for one, was very excited about it; he'd stuck the commendation in his office, treating it as a centerpiece that he planned to show off to everyone.
Apparently it would boost applicants or something. I wondered where he intended to seat all those applicants, the school didn’t exactly boast a fine infrastructure. But that didn’t really matter to me.
What did matter was that I was finally getting the Alchemy training I wanted. Though it would be a while before I got that Chaos potion, I am still sure that I can get Meenauy to cough it out earlier, but I'd at least be getting some training in.
Presumably, when the time came that I had to actually attempt the Alchemy, I'd be much better prepared for the act and with my innate intellect, gain instant success! Or at least that was what I presumed. It would be alright. After all, wasn't I always right?
It had been less of a fight to get the training than I expected, instead it was convincing Meemauy to let me visit Anu regularly for 'play time' that was more difficult. In the end though, even the slave driving the old crone had to surrender to me! I really should have gotten more stats for that. Instead all I got was this crappy skill.
Courtmancy: a skill wielded by those well versed in the crafts of magic and deception. Users of this skill are known to end up dying alone.
What was up with the skill? End up dying alone? How was that a skill? Whatever, it was best to ignore the system and its endless antics. Embrace magic, I say. It shall solve all problems.
I stepped into the Aloise Mansion, for that was what it was. A Mansion. Built of what seemed to be white stone the mansion was an ugly piece of work. Where was the individuality? The bricks? All that I saw was a bunch of stones mashed together. The stone did not have the flexibility and uniqueness of a brick. All it was, was a massive collection of slabs put together.

Perhaps the Dishonored Aloise family could not afford the better brick home? Yes, that must be it! They were poor! I just needed to cure that ailment and they would surely demolish this house and build a better brick one.
I walked through the Mansion's massive gates, making a point to not pay attention to the architecture. Stone was not worth my attention after all.
After walking through the gates I was created by a butler. Dresses in pale green clothing with wings growing out of his back, he looked unlike any person I had ever seen. Was this an Outworlder? Didn't Meemauy say they were in common? Why did I run into another then? Was there some secret Outworlder gathering nearby that I was not privy to?
“Brick! You really came ! I can’t believe it! We are going to have so much fun together!” Anu said, running towards me from within the Mansion’s inner regions. “I have lots of stuff planned! I know you like getting to know stuff so I had Mom compile a new type of game! It has this massive card set and each time you pick a card, you have to learn what is inside it! And then say it in fiv minutes! Isn’t it interesting!”
Anu grabbed my hands and pulled me inward, towards the Mansion, while waving to the Butler with the other hand saying, “ Hi Grandpa Poare! Bye Grandpa Poare!”
While we made our way through the mansion I asked Anu, “How come you have an Outworlder as a Butler?”
“Outworlder?”-Anu stifled his giggles-” Grandpa Poare isn’an Outworlder, he’s one of Mom and Dad’s charity cases that went wrong.
“Charity cases?” I asked, now curious
“Oh, yes Mom and Dad do a lot of charity.” Anu answered as we arrived at our destination. Deciding that learning Alchemy was more important than figuring out whatever the ‘Charity’ the Aloise’s were doing, I dropped the line of questioning. Instead I asked Anu
“So what exactly is this ‘game’ of yours?”
“See that stack of cards''-Anu pointed to a massive tower of small rectangular papers that could only have been held together through magic. Nature would never have allowed such a tower to be formed.- '' We are going to take each card and learn what is in them, then answer a question on the content in there. It's going to be so much fun!”
I questioned if my spell had not caused some form of brain damage to Anu and this was Miss Aloise’s wy of punishing me. I was here to learn Alchemy, not learn all of this stupid stuff.
“Oh and Mom said that if you want to learn Alchemy from her you need to learn all of this stuff. That all of the Alchemists had to, she won’t teach you otherwise.” Anu said.
I knew getting that agreement was too easy! I looked at the veritable mountain of cards, feeling all hope of Waffles fade away...

Map created by Maximeplasse This fiction is based on my play-per-post RP that I've run before but with my own take on summoned characters and dungeon settings. At certain points I'll also allow reader decisions if the story gets popular enough. xD It's unrelated to the D&D Theron setting; Telduria I just liked the name and the map when I started up the RP back in the day.
