I didn't hit anything while sleeping, right?
Tilting his camera he found another bump. Right on his other temple. Definitely a bump, but kinda bigger and taller as if something was waiting underneath to emerge. Both have the same size and length. If not for his hair, normal people would recognize them instantly.
He opened his status screen, eyes fixated on a certain part of the window.
Two-horned Wolf Assimilation 12,5%
Head Bumps
"You have a pair of bumps on your head."
I knew it. These aren't normal bumps...
His earlier hunch was right. His passive skill allowed him to absorb the status of the two-horned wolves to his own. It seemed like "status" here also included their characteristics. Based on his observation, these bumps on his head would probably turn into horns similar to the animal in question.
His eyes widened at the realization.
"Wait, then that means I'm a Druid...!" he exclaimed, "my Wild Shape is not instant, it is in line of my assimilation progress! I just need to consume the beast I want to Wild Shape into in order to progress the assimilation!"
"Yes, that's makes sense!" he exclaimed happily, "this is why I can't get any assimilation or additional points since I ate the same two-horned wolves! This skill demands me to eat something new!"
He briefly stopped.
"Wait, that act itself is against nature. Druids worship nature above all, aren't they? Am I some kind of Druid version of Antipaladin? Antidruid?"
He didn't really like this. As opposed to living in harmony with nature and allied with beasts, he must consume his allies to get stronger. This was so wrong. For him, this act was similar to the decision to exile the old and the weak during the drought to save food.

...no, this has to be done.
Sacrifices were necessary for the greater good, in this context "the greater good" was his own survival. Ivan wouldn't let his conscience and guilt shackled his mind. He wouldn't whine and act weak after all they had done to him.
Class and such are irrelevant to pursue my goal to return home. I'd eat the entire forest if it could help me get stronger and stay alive!
He stopped moving as if he received communication from the Gods. Pupils dilated, mouth slightly ajar, then realization kicked in along with a mad grin.
...why should he limit himself to animals?
