《Nexus》Content Poll

For anybody who's still following this, I have a question. Because I'm struggling to move forward with my writing, and I could use some feedback. (I'll probably delete this in a week or two, just to keep it from cluttering up the story.) My problem is this:

I have lots of ideas for a second book of Nexus, continuing Caley's story. The problem is, none of them are an actual plot, per-se. I have piles of sub-plot worthy material, but nothing big enough to string a complete story together. So my question is, would it be terrible to write a book that's basically a bunch of short stories woven together with only the main characters being the common thread between them, or should I hold off until I have some sort of connective tissue main plot to glue the whole thing together?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I love this story and these characters dearly, possibly more than any other I've written, and I really need a boost. Please and thank you!
