《Brother of Wind {Book 8: the Sons of Garmadon}》Chapter 12

Do you think it's really possible to bring someone back?" Harumi asked as Lloyd instructed her to keep a small skiff steady. They found an abandoned boat. The strangest part, there was a second map. So Lloyd decided to follow it's markings.
"I've seen a lot of things in my lifetime." Lloyd replied. Then he paused for a thought. So many instances where he was so close to death so the idea of rebounding off of it? From personal experience...
"It could happen." Lloyd finished his sentence.
"Does any part of you want to see your father again?" Harumi asked. Lloyd leaned on the edge of the wooden boat. Now he really had to think. He almost looked back before continuing his gaze onto the muddy water.
"Well... A little." Lloyd said.
"More to the right." He pointed. Harumi shifted the wheel.
"I would do anything to see my parents again." Harumi said.
"I don't blame you." Lloyd said.
"But if they bring my father back, the thing that scares me the most is..."
"He won't be the man you recognized?" Harumi asked. From the corner of her eye, she saw Lloyd nod. Or maybe he was just ducking underneath a large leaf.
"He wasn't the greatest villain." Harumi said. Lloyd's head dropped as he laughed. Then he turned towards Harumi.
"Oh, no?" Lloyd asked, a hint of smugness in his voice.
"You probably grew up thinking it's the Devourer." He said. Harumi's shoulders shrugged.
"Don't tell me. Pythor." Lloyd pointed.
"No. It's the one you never even knew was there in the first place, the one that gets away." Harumi said. Lloyd's playful manurism disappeared in an instant.
"The Quiet One."
. . .
Nya shook her head as if she was trying to wake herself up. Pixal was in equal disbelief but she didn't show it.
"So he likes tea and he went through a growth spurt." Nya pointed at the child walking around a desteoyed Bounty's deck.
"That doesn't mean he's Wu."
"Master..." The kid sipped his tea.
"...Wu."
Pix and Zane shared a look. Nya's face seemed to be paralyzed.
"Okay."
"What's happening?" Morro walked up behind them and in a rush, Nya pushed Morro by his shoulders to sit down on the nearest first step of the stairs.
"Hello?" Morro asked, looking at Nya and the others.

"Morro." Nya said. She slowly raised her head up to look at him.
"That is my name." Morro said.
"We found your father." Nya said. Morro's eyes narrowed for a split second as he looked to the guys. They all gave different looks.
"He's right there." Nya stepped aside, revealing the baby with his tea cup.
"Morro!" The baby exclaimed.
Morro's expression just turned into pure confusion.
"What the fu--" Nya threw her hand over Morro's mouth.
"So." Nya said.
"I mean. It's not the stupidest thing that's happened." She slowly lowered her hand.
"Where is the tallest tree in this forest?" Morro pushed himself up.
"But!" Kai ran forwards and pushed Morro back down to his seat.
"I have a theory. It's the reversal blade's fault." Kai pointed his finger and paced side to side.
"Befote he sent me and my sister back to the present, Master Wu got hit with the reversal blade, right?" Kai said.
"Because I remember that." Morro said in a very flat tone.
"Right! So the reversal blade pushed Wu's age backwards and turned him into a kid!" Kai pointed.
Wu reached for the teapot on the table. Pixal held it away from him.
"Then perhaps, once the effects of the blade stop, he should be aging more rapidly. Zane said.
"And that's why he's walking." Jay nodded.
Everyone just looked to Morro who had his hands over his face.
"I would rather go back to fighting..." Morro started.
"...A random army of stone people but no!" He shouted, standing up and pacing around.
"My father is a child!" Morro shouted.
"I hate my life, I hate my life, I hate my life." Morro kept repeating as he walked into the bridge.
"It's safe to assume this is the weurdest family I've ever aquainted myself with." Cole said.
"Just how long will he stay like that?" Jay asked, kneeling down to see Wu.
"Time will tell." Pixal said. An unhinged scream was heard from the forest.
"And our time is running out." Kai said.
"How soon till we get outta here?" He asked.
"Not soon enough." Pixal ran towards the Mech.
"Pixal, what are you doing?" Zane asked.
"Slowing them down." Pixal replied as she sped off.
"She can handle herself. We need to get this ship in the air." Nya said.

"All hands on deck!!" She yelled. Mainly for Morro.
"Let's go, little Wu. You looked after us, it's only fair we look after you." Cole picked up the baby and held him close.
"The timing of their arrival is unfortunate. We have not yet had a fully successful engine test." Zane said, rushing into the bridge.
"Not like it ever works." Morro scoffed.
"Fully successful? It blew up in my face!" Jay shouted.
"Uh, in our faces." Kai corrected.
"Let's not argue over the details." Nya said. Morro flicked the computer and the screens turned on.
"YES!" Everyone shouted.
"Thrusters?" Nya asked.
"Seventy percent." Zane replied.
"System?"
"Effective." Morro said.
"Get us in the air!" Kai shouted.
"Wait, what about Pixal?" He asked.
"I said it already: she can take care of herself." Nya said.
"What's that?" Jay jumped into the bridge. He pointed to a strange glitch on the screen.
"The trace program the computer was running to find the Quiet One's location. It's finished, but that's odd." Nya said.
"It says it originated from the Bounty."
"But that-that can't be." Kai said. Morro's body tensed up.
"What did you say?" Morro asked.
"That's impossible." Cole saidm
"The only ones on the ship were us, Pixal, and..." Zane trailed off his list.
"That bastard." Morro's voice was cold and sharp like a knife.
"Harumi's the Quiet One." Nya said.
"We must warn Lloyd immediately!" Zane exclaimed. Nya ran to the conterol panel but a sai was held to her neck.
"Ah-ah-ah. I wouldn't do that if I were you." Ultra Violet said.
"The Quiet One wouldn't like that." She said. Nya narrowed her eyes and kicked UV back. The gang member raised her hand but her weapon was knocked out of her hand by a sharp blade, just cutting her hand.
"Nor do I like her." Morro's gaze was far from anything positive. Ultra Violet got ready for a fight.
Nya ducked as Morro threw his arm forwards. Despite the injury, a powerful blast of wind knocked UV back. More gang members showed up to back her up. All the Ninja rushed back to the bridge to get out of the way. Morro stepped down and ran towards the crowd, knocking large amounts of people away at a time. UV got up from her knock back. Morro rushed straight for her. But at the sound of a child crying, Morro froze in his tracks. He slowly looked back. Mr. E had grabbed a hold of Wu and Killow captured the other ninja. UV laugher as she kicked Morro in the back and pulled his arms behind him.
"Morro!" Kai shouted. They pulled the Ninja into the middle of the deck. Killow then used the Mask of Deception to throw an unconscious Pixal onto the deck.
"Pixal!" Zane shouted.
"There's no way for us to tell Lloyd!" Cole exclaimed. Jay looked to Morro who only had a frustrated look back.
. . .
Lloyd felt a jolt to his back. After a close encounter with drowning, the Ninja and Princess made it to land and Lloyd continued to lead the way, cutting through the leaves.
'Lloyd.'
'What is it?'
'You have to promise to not make a scene.'
'Why?... What happened?'
'We know who the Quiet One is.'
'Who is it?'
'The Jade Princess.'
Lloyd slashed his arm down one more time. The leave dropped to the ground almost in a slowed time. Thank goodness we was in front so his expression was hidden.
'A-... Are you sure??'
'Yes.'
Lloyd felt his throat tighten and his expression shift into subtle frustration. He couldn't let his uneven breathing be shown. He just couldn't. Lloyd needed to make the next play. What if his brother was wrong? What if it's just a suspicion? The feeling between the two linked was absolute certainty, but Lloyd was falling deeper into denial.
I mean, he's been... Falling. Already. In a different way. It doesn't mean anything, does it?-- he can't think like that, no, no, no, no, no. He has his next play. To figure out if it's really true or not.
"Lloyd?" Harumi asked. Lloyd took a page out of Morro's book and hid his expression.
"Yeah. I'm uh... Getting a bit tired. Go on ahead." Lloyd said.
"I'll have your back."
Harumi smiled and hapily walked forwards while Lloyd.... He sheathed the sword around his waist and held onto one of his arnis sticks instead. He had the plan, now to play it through.

"I'm Screwed" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This story uses the system derived by Puddles4263 in Randidly Ghosthound. I've incorporates the Path's system into the leveling of this story. Some of the beginning paths will be similar or the same as I thought that the starting paths were very logical on how a system should start. The stories will be completely different as the characters and story arcs will be completely different. Again, thank you Puddles for allowing me to use your system, really appreciate it! I also wanted to thank ProFound Magician. Has a lot of insight into a story development and as his system is based on Ghosthound, I saw a some beginning stage skills that should be thought of in a character just starting out. If you haven't yet read Ghosthound or Genesis System you're in for a real treat when you do! Thank you both I hope my use is seen as an homage in the beginning. Hopefully my story can live up to the system.
