never quite right
never quite the same
and yet somehow they all FEEL
the same ! nasty same
one guy hates e-mail
gets it, won't answer, won't respond
will only use an antique landline phone
and even then, not much
time waster, he avers, phone talk
but likes to show up random at your place
and later, telling you he knocked upon your door
seems sad, upset that you weren't there
another dislikes texting
texts are vile, he says
he won't do that, just won't!
but frequently on zoom and dating apps
loves to e-mail art photography
exquisite work he makes himself
such gorgeous data-heavy images
so huge! swift trigger low data plans' blockade
and then he's ultra angry about that
he hates rejection (don't we all)
a third, more modern, only likes to text
laconic messages mostly
brief fragments that seem to have no sense, no life
'til suddenly three sexy words show up
your pussy wet? a pause, then ...yet?
or one bright throbby purple heart
makes you feel yesyesyes!
there IS love here, heat at least
and then . . . texts stop
gone for one long silent day, sometimes two
no word of why, just emptiness, blank page
and you despair, imagine loathing, fear his death
but each time (so far)
those little lines of words return —
thank god, thank god!
am truly (lamely?) thanking god
yet also, somehow, why?
an angry why
why are things so complicated?
why so endless weird, so off, so hard?
so very many ways to be in touch
no touch

8 108Red Smile

8 178The Code of Life - Epic Fantasy/Scifi LitRPG Series
Strange new worlds with monsters and beasts, some to tame, some to slain. Some to make friends of as you realize you're a bigger monster than they could ever be... And you have to move and progress. Learn and survive. Only that can unlock the boxes of secrets and provide answers to the ultimate of riddles. Seemingly randomly selected, thirteen people of diverse backgrounds are given access codes to the MOLI. It offers a strange new experience that looks very seductive and engaging, with stunning graphics and alluring species, just utterly mindblowing and addictive. But, it seems nobody knows what MOLI actually is, a whole new level in VR gaming or an inexplicable transference to another universe with different worlds and their own laws and customs. The experience feels so real it’s difficult to be certain. But they have to find the answers fast because people soon start to die. *** This is not intended to be a typical litRPG series, although it uses a lot of its elements to help create the whole setting. Planning to publish a chapter a day, so be warned of the editing mistakes that are certain to sneak through. Hope to keep on fixing them as I go along.

8 184Heavenly Hollow Rhapsody
The day Shirley May dies, she goes to her own personal heaven where anything she could ever want is already hers. She can live anywhere she wants, meet anyone she could ever want to meet, own whatever she had couldn't previously afford to buy. Her unwavering kindness and hard honest work guarantee her an eternity is her own self-made paradise. She can’t stand it. It’s egocentric. It’s boring. It’s empty. To have everything is, in Shirley’s opinion, to want for nothing. She needs to escape.
