《Meanest Mob》73. Advisor and Artificer
Advertisement
Zren sat on his chair checking on his paraphernalia. His joining hands with Alfir is a good move in his book. The best way to keep watch of a variable is to get close to it.
He wasn’t just expecting it to be through recruitment. As such, Zren is now doing his part by acting as Alfir’s advisor and artificer.
On his table are several pieces of equipment made of Mutant-processed materials. Zren was tasked to create a standard wear that can assimilate with the Special Abilities of the wearer. In his hand are threads of dark brown hair, which will be used for tailoring a costume.
There is also a butterfly mask that has a cognitive dissuasion function, and a tight slime suit with good camouflaged features.
Zren is not buying the transmigrator stories of Alfir, however, he is convinced that there is something really inside him as Alfir claimed. In his own words “And it’s like there’s an entity inside me that have a god complex.”
It appears that Alfir is in total belief in his stories, so Zren decided to trust him.
If a crazy man claims that he is not crazy, then he is not. Because he verbally said it, and even is proving it… It is worth it that Zren listens. So far, there are no indications that Alfir is not playing with him.
Zren is banking on the idea of Alfir just being mentally ill, or he is actually possessed by a demon.
Demons are when Special Abilities become parasitic and then become alive. It’s classified information that only a few people know. Zren hopes that this is not the case. After all, if it weren't, it just meant that he is getting closer to what he is trying to find. Perhaps, just maybe, Alfir has it.
Helping Alfir in the shadows isn’t also bad, as Alfir made a promise that Zren can’t turn down.

“I promise. I will leave. A week before the finals, I’ll leave. I said that there are people after me, right? If I leave, the number of attackers in the academy will then decrease. Thus, increasing Heromaker’s chance for survival.”
There are no guarantees that Alfir will leave, but if he doesn’t, Zren just will make him do so.
Alighting from the slide, Alfir appeared. “Hey, do you know how to do superhuman surgeries, can you teach me? I want to explore my Special Ability…”
…
I came and go from Zren’s man cave. He’s a brilliant advisor and artificer. Now that he’s mentoring me on how to develop my mutation, I can’t help but feel giddy. It looks like my theory of mutation transplants is possible.
Transplants of Special Abilities are said to be lost venture until Gavin the Undying made a breakthrough out of it. Apparently, there are unique mutations in the world that don’t reject mutation transplants. Gavin has proven it by transplanting the Immortal King’s Diamond Heart to himself.
I have someone in mind whom I want his mutation. If I were to steal powers, why not steal from the main cast? Well, it’s crazy!! Though the story is like a shit about to hit the fun with the Dreamers on my ass, I’d still love it if the main cast were to continue being the main cast.
That aside, I can’t really transplant the main cast’s mutation. Can you transplant Deron’s bravery, Lorie’s luck, Cain’s brain, and Sheila’s unique organ resembling a plant? Well, I can steal Pierre’s bones if it comes to it, but I’d rather not, it will destroy my genetic potential.
Jana? Forget her, I believe her powers come from meatballs.
I come to a secluded area near the enclosed forests. It is not just lessons that I got from Zren. I also got some neat upgrades.

My favorite is this sleek black cowl. Its features are stealth, tough durability, and a tentacle-like connection with my mind… Made of slime, Mythril threads, and my hair, I now have a slithering suit resembling Venom. With a thought, it can latch and unlatch to me.
This is only possible, through the connection brought by my mutation, Mind Over Body. I’d love to also have a sword but Zren rejected my request as he doesn't like his workload increasing anymore…
Ugh… What a lazy ass… Yeah, that’s too much, my bad. He deserves the rest.
Coming all my way to the boy’s dorm, I knock at Pedro’s door. “Delivery!!”
Pedro alights from the door, hair all ruffled and from a distance in his bed, I saw Raela sneakily looking over. “Oh, good job pal! Anyways, here. This neat costume will allow you to remain clothed when you transform to light. Okay, bye.” I don't know how Pedro and Raela happened considering that these two people should not know each other in this manner.
I don't care if Raela knows Pedro's secret identity though as it doesn't affect the big picture.
I leave Pedro to his business, then went to the girls’ dorms. I climbed into Zia’s room stealthily. It’s more exciting this way. Much better than a window.
Finally, when I reached her room. What I saw was Rodney on top of Zia. He was holding Zia by her arms and is looking lecherously at her. Meanwhile, Zia was unconscious. How? I can only imagine.
I immediately don my suit and with swift steps… I arrived at Rodney’s rear. I carefully used my strength not keen on killing him. With a swift strike to his neck, Rodney fell asleep.
I helped the unconscious Zia, who is on her lingerie. Damn, she almost got fucked. This Rodney is really rotten to the core. He makes me cry. Sadly, I can’t kill him today.
I still have uses for him.
Zia who is unconscious seems to be suffering from a nightmare as she uncomfortably groans in her sleep.
I looked at the room, my eyes landing on a burning Nightmare Essence, it’s a consumable made of Undead Soot, Slime Powder, and judging by its quality, a mutant’s body part with an ability concerning nightmares.
I stomped on the essence with my foot, effectively killing the fire and smoke.
I sat on a sofa, waiting for Zia to wake up.
When Zia wakes up, she was met with the tied Rodney.
“Hello there, beautiful. You almost got fucked unconscious. Ain’t you lucky I am here?” I called her.
Zia’s beautiful face crumples in disgust, then anger. “Hey there, I have a gift for you. See this butterfly mask. When we do missions, wear it. It can distort the cognition of people who look at you, you can amplify its effects with your mutation. It’s pink, you like it?”
“…”
Oooh, missy is scary silent. I fear for Rodney, but I need him alive.
“I will leave Rodney to you, but you can’t in any circumstance, kill him, cripple him, or mentally break him. Leave an itty bit of leeway. Just enough for him to think of continuing his oppression of the small people.”
With these words, I left Zia on her own devices. I’d love to make love with Zia, but with what happened, I guess another time?
I still have more lessons to hear from Zren anyways.

Saga of the Storm Wizard
Rose Cooper had always been told she has a lot of potential as a wizard cadet. Too much, in fact; her weather magic frequently ran wild when her emotions got the better of her. That was why the mission to uncover a lost magical artifact in the Spratly Islands was perfect for her. They were no man's land, abandoned by both the demonic Grim Horde and the human Anti-Demonic League. All Rose would have to do to do was keep the weather under control. All of that talk of the Spratly Curse was just superstition and nonsense spread by bored sailors. If only. Evil wore many masks, as Rose was about to discover. Warning: This story contains elements that some readers may find disturbing, and minor language. Think of it as a PG-13 rating.
