《Darkest Hero》Fight Like Hell part 1

Could this day of gotten any worse? This was a common thought for many of the Fleeing citizens through the prefecture. Not even four minutes between the initial appearance of the creature and the arrival of the responding heroes saw the casualties reach the thousands. Sadly many of those heroes were nothing but fodder to the demons and merely added to the death toll. Mt. Lady was barely holding her own, the creatures had swarmed up her legs and were tearing at her skin. She didn't even hold a candle to the larger one, she had even gotten desperate and thrown a abandoned truck at it but nothing seemed to break through its armored hide.
Currently however she was barely holding back the horde as she tried to keep the creatures that just kept coming from getting onto the rail system where the few survivors were fleeing towards. With a grunt of anger she brought down her foot on one of the large fat things with gun arms and hissed in pain as volatile and extremely hot liquids splashed up her shin. The only other heroes she knew who were still alive in this mess were Endeavor who had just arrived, Snipe who had boxed himself at the entrance to an old WW2 bomb shelter while protecting civilians inside and Hawks who was trying to deal with the fat flying things who were burping up purple fireballs.
She had already seen Uwambi ripped to shreds by the creatures and the less said about what happened to edgeshot when the larger ones with red skin and horns got to him the better. With a snarl she swatted another group of the orange skinned lanky ones from the support beams that held up the train tracks. Excruciating pain radiated from the middle of her back as she let loose a howl of pain and fell to the ground hard enough that she set off car alarms.
"W-what? Why can't I feel my legs?!" She shouted in confused pain as her legs refused to move. "WHY CANT I FEEL MY LEGS?!"
The sound of cracking bone and ripping flesh filled her ears as a vague sensation of tugging was felt along her back. She pulled herself up as best she could with her arms and turned herself and wished she didn't right after as she gagged in horror. Her spine was blatantly sticking out her back and one of those red things that was only half her height was trying to pull the rest out.
She didn't have a chance to react to this sight before the creature's head was launched from its shoulders in a shower of blood and bone, the body flopping uselessly onto the ground, crushing a mailbox as it fell. Leaping through the gore looked to be Miruko clad in some sort of green armor. With a thud the woman hit the ground before turning to face the oncoming wave of creatures. They skidded to a halt, some even recoiling back from her mere presence.
"" The woman shouted. The mass of creatures hesitated, looking towards one another before unanimously deciding it wasn't worth it and fled back towards the larger being who seemed intent on stripping the skyscrapers layer by later in the middle of the city.

"M-miruko?" Mt. Lady gasped out softly.
"Hmm? You know my brat?" The woman asked as she turned to face the giant hero before letting out a whistle. "Damn, you got fucked up, why are you so big anyway?"
"Y-yeah, we're drinking buddies." Yui admitted as she tried to push herself into a sitting position and failed. "Damnit, one of those things messed up my spine, I can't even shrink to normal anymore."
"Right, keep the humans safe, I've got some ass to kick." The woman huffed as she looked around before noticing a still standing metal light pole. She walked over and with a quick jab from her elbow snapped the pole from the ground and kicked it towards Yui. "Swat any that get close."
"A-alright." Yui took a shaky breath as she nodded and took the broken pole.
"Good now I've got to make sure 'Mr. Squishy' as the tiny cenobite called it is keeping the demons at bay." The woman huffed before bounding off towards the heart of the city, occasionally kicking the head from a demon that wasn't fleeing from her fast enough as she went.
Nezu hummed as he entered a small law firm, the interior was rather bland if he was honest, what wasn't bland was the blatant anti demon runes printed across the wallpaper in such a way that it just looked like decorative patterns.
"Hey Pine tree, shooting star, I'm back!" Nezu cackled causing someone in the back of the building to fall over in shock if the sound of an impact and grunt of pain was to be believed.
Barely two seconds and a trio of people were out and in the front armed with dream catchers. His eyebrow twitched at that, while he now possessed a physical body that was his own and not "borrowed" he still didn't like the things.
Standing before him was a somewhat tall individual who looked like Pine tree as a teen and one who looked like a teenage Shooting star. The other was a tall brown haired woman with tan skin wearing an eyepatch and wearing a oversized hoodie and sweatpants. Several bees could be seen moving in and out of her eyepatch and up her sleeves.
"Bill." The twins growled at him.
"Nezu." The woman huffed.
"Heya to you two too." Nezu smirked. "Look, we can argue until time baby is born again but first we have to deal with the demon invasion, think you can contain it with the same junk the mystery shack had?"
"We already have been hey dip-dip." Mable nodded firmly. "So we don't need your nasty deals."
"Honestly, asides a catch up for old times sake, that's all I was here for." Nezu shrugged. "Oh and Pop-step, Queen Bee, which ever you go by currently, if I see you near my school without invite, well.... I'll make it creative."
"Get out bill." Dipper growled as he waved the dream catcher Infront of him.
"That doesn't work anymore. This body is my own." Nezu replied with a soft tisk and shake of his head. "Just make sure you keep them contained or I'll be forced to unleash weirdmageddon to contain them. Remember, reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold byeeeeeeee!"

The trio watched as the small chimera inhabited by a dream demon dove out a nearby window and back out to the streets.
"I uh.... I wasn't expecting that." The woman with an eyepatch admitted with a snort.
"It's jerkface bill." Mable rolled her eyes before grabbing the sleeve of the woman and dragging her to the other room "Now c'mon, we have to finish the runes around the city and we can't do that without dipper's map and your bees."
While many were evacuating by the rail system, by car or the many who were forced to flee on foot, those in UA chose to bunker down and shore up the defenses. The only way in or out of the school by ground was the front gate, the automatic gate was disabled allowing anyone fleeing to get inside. The school's robots ranging from entry exam 1 pointers upto the 3rd year graduation 0 pointers were set loose in the surrounding areas, each blaring a message about UA being a safe haven for those who can't evacuate the city. The trainline that ran near the east gate to the school was already demolished, having run through the heart of the city it was one of the first things the Icon of sin had destroyed.
The support class along with Momo and Mei had already set up machine gun emplacements facing towards the city and were set up in such a way that it would be difficult for the demons to climb something and attack from above. Eri had even brought along the cute Club, although many were questioning such a title for the group and Spike had been kept in hell to avoid lethal sunburn. The cenobites who followed shortly after the arrival of the cute Club had already received their orders and made their way to the evacuation points across the city, flaying or ripping apparat any feral that dared to cross their path.
Crite had already rolled off into the city and if evacuees talking about a tiny hedgehog eating entire swarms of the bull demons was an indication, he was having the time of his life with how much there was to eat. The twins hadn't done much but they did know how to set broken bones easily and were helping Recovery girl and the few general studies students who weren't on evacuation duty deal with the influx of wounded civilians, most of whom had burns or cuts with many also missing limbs. Jigsaw much to his horror had been tied to a remote control car by Momo with the remote given to Inko to bait the demons into kill zones for heroes and police to take out. Currently the former trap happy psychopath was screaming as the remote controlled car barrelled down the business district with a horde of whiplash after him.
By the time IMP had arrived the demonic invasion was slowly starting to halt it's advance out of the middle of the city and evacuation was nearly completed. What the heroes hadn't expected however was IMP to show up with Alister in tow.
"Ah greetings." The radio demon grinned widely as he leant onto his cane. "I hear you've been having a feral demon problem."
"It's kind of obvious." Aizawa deadpanned from his position next to a radio set in a small tent. He had been trying to help co-ordinate ambushes in the east side of the city to mixed success.
"Well then ladies and gentlemen, I have supplied our local murderous imps with bullets made out of melted angel spears." Alister grinned widely before gesturing to Blitzo. "Asides him, he can suffer."
"Great". Blitzo sighed in resignation before checking the rounds loaded into his tommygun. "Atleast lead will still rip their limbs off."
"Hey sweety!" Blitzo called upon seeing Loona by the gate Manning one of the machine guns Momo had set up. Next to her was a box full of flashbangs and a simple combat knife.
"Busy." Loona grunted as she squinted slightly and squeezed the trigger briefly on the gun pelting off a burst of four bullets which turned a feral Imp's head into red paste. The creature's arms flailed briefly as if it was trying to swipe it's clawed fingers at an unseen foe before it flopped to the ground, its body turning into a red vapour as it slowly burnt to ashes.
"Alright then sweety." Blitzo chuckled as he took a few steps back from his daughter. "Make daddy proud!"
"FUCK OFF!" Loona snapped at him with a snarl.
With IMP, sans Loona, being sent into the city on their demon hunting spree, Alister called in some favors to get munitions that could perminantly kill ferals and there was a slow but steady trickle of various bullets and knives making its way into the school. Cementos had made several evacuation tunnels leading away from the city and with help from Present Mic was evacuating as many people through them as they could. The first year classes and all but the hero classes from 2nd and 3rd years were helping with the evacuation of the immediate area while the 2nd year hero course students were acting as perimeter defense and the 3rd years who had their hero licences already were actively in the city fighting the invading feral demons.
In the city several large green explosions rocked the legs of the Icon of sin, ripping off chunks of its bone like armor. The creature howled in pain before trying to stomp whatever had made the explosions.
By now little remained of the skyscrapers at the heart of the city other than smoldering wreckage filled with the bodies of the dead. Those who knew of the supernatural were severely confused as to how heaven hadn't stepped in yet despite repeated calls for help from Azazel. The sound of machine gun fire crackled through the air as the demons finally made it within view of the UA gates, dozens fell to the oncoming fire only to be replaced by scores more.

Fantasy World Epsilon 30-10
New Dive Assignment: 0B5 Personnel: Citizen of Gamma G-037-072 Jonathan Kelly World Designation: Epsilon H-037-072-030-010 Classification: Pre-industrial Exotic World, significant outliers in biosphere including atypical flora and fauna. Quarantine protocol in effect pending more data and acclimation testing. Further anomalies include populations of morphologically distinct humanoids, and aberrations in otherwise normative physics laws. Causal chain appears provisionally stable. For the purposes of delaying onset of collapse as well as above mentioned factors, only one subject is cleared to Dive. Initial mandates shall proceed with scouting and surveillance. Further details are classified. Warning: All other qualifying personnel are currently dispatched. Refusal will result in deployment delays and possible unsupervised causal decay. Do you wish to accept this assignment? Note to Readers: This is not MC isolated in a new world. This is new world joins the multiverse. What I'm tentatively coining Subverted Isekai (Formerly I used 'reversed' but, as pointed out, that would be fantasy MC goes to the modern world. Hey, there's idea! Not this book though.). There is plenty of scientific and philosophical stuff; I know that can be a turn off for some. It has a strong bearing on the story, but is mainly covered in the 'Comments & Calculations' section (optional reading of course). If you are looking for an extreme suspension of natural laws with no technical considerations, you will not find it here. Formatting Notes: Audio chatter from characters that are not currently in the scene I format in "inverted commas and italics". Given the layered nature of modern communication, I thought this distinction was best denoted visually in my prose. Critique is welcome. Language Notes Jon is a South African ex-pat. As such he will use some Afrikaans colloquialisms plus a dash of Japanese. Most importantly he says “Ja” meaning “Yes”. Pronounced with a J sound like “yo” and an A sound like “bar”. As in: “Yo, let’s go to the strip bar.” “Ja.” And not the Rastafarian /jya/. Other words: Nee - /niya/ : no Juffrou - /yif-row/ : Miss Lekker - /lacker/ : nice, good, delicious Nooit - /noit/: never The rest is mostly swear words. Indisputably the most useful words in any language and simultaneously holding the least innate meaning. Fok - “fork” without the “r”: fuck Bliksem - /Bluksim/: darn, damn. Also common noun meaning damn person or thing. Donner - “Dorner” without the “r”: originally meaning thunder, can also mean darn or damn. It is often used as a verb meaning: ‘to hit hard’ Kak - /kuck/: shit Voetsek - /foot-sack/: go away
