《The Forgotten Gods》Chapter 38

When I ran at them, everything happened at once. The unnts bleated and then bolted; none even tried to stand their ground. I saw the front edge hit the rope and slow and turn to go around, which made the back edge of the herd not get up to speed. This was the “do or die” part; they would either turn and split from the herd, or they would brace to fight me.
Things worked as I’d wanted, and a few of the unnt turned and ran up the river. I gave chase, and I saw one go into the hole. It tried to come back out but couldn’t. The others went around the hole and injured the beast. It was just me and the hurt unnt now. I ran up to the hole and saw that it was bleeding out and quickly put it down with a thrust through the neck.
With the hunt done, the hard part had come. I needed to get this hundred fifty-pound carcass up and out of the hole, and then I needed to work on getting it down to my home.
I went and moved my rope from the path as I needed the rope, and I wanted to remove the obstacle as soon as I could. After that, I hopped down, pulled out all of my spikes from the pit, and tossed them up to the ground level.
Then I pushed the unnt up and out of the pit. I climbed out and carried my prize to the cliff. I tied the unnt to my rope and lowered it, and the basked full of my tools down the edge of the cliff, and then I gathered up the last of my things and Blink and made a climb of it.
I’d been doing ten and twenty-foot climbs, so I was hoping that I could make this one without much fuss. I’d be right next to the rope, so it should help. I’d Blink in my pack, and that was about it, so down I went. It was scary making that climb more than once. I used the rope as a handhold, but I got to where I needed to be and didn’t die. It only took me about thirty minutes which was good because I had blood to collect and a unnt to process.
I when got everything down to my campsite and I got to work draining the unnt and skinning it. Once I’d it drained into a hole in the clay, I took my necklace and held it in and activated the consume unnt blood. I watched as the pulsing started, and then it ended. The blood was gone. I opened up the interface to see how much it counted for.
> Core requirements
4% Mana
1% Stone
0% Lifeblood
“Crap! That sucks,” I yelled.
Blink hissed at me and then walked over to my bed and curled up with a huff.
“I was hoping that I’d be able to feed this thing with animal blood but it is looking like that is not something that I can do,” I muttered to Blink and myself.

I finished up skinning the unnt, and I set the head aside so I could figure out how to get the horns off. I then got to work getting the all-important insides washed. I wanted to make sure that I could get another waterskin going, so I needed the bladder and stomach if I would do that. At least, that is what my skill urging was telling me to do.
After a good quick wash in the river, I was back to the body, working on processing it all. I ended up having to make my fire bigger and start a new smoking rack. It took me all day to get everything taken care of. I ended up getting about 70 pounds of meat into my smoker. I also was able to get my hide scraped and stretched so that it would dry out. I was looking at a pair of pants if I could do it right.
I was mad at myself for the hunt. I knew that I needed the unnt for leather and for meat; I also knew that I needed it for the water skin, and I was hoping for the blood. What I failed to do was be ready before the hunt. I was mad that I was wasting the bones as I’d not made myself a bowl to make broth in, and that was bad. I knew the longer ones I wouldn’t boil as I needed better tools than just a stone blade. I would upgrade to the bone.
Blink was happy she was over with some of the meatier bones eating off of them. I took a bone that still had a good chunk and started to roast it for dinner as I had missed lunch since I was working. All in all, it was a good day.
I just needed to work better on my long-term storage issues. I needed a way to keep things safe, dry, and cool. That might mean that I needed to figure a way to get a root cellar or cold room. I didn’t know how hot it would get here, but I kind of now had a way to make a cave. It would be slow going, but since I could make stone turn to dirt, I could cast that in on the rock face and move the earth out. I’d need to go slow and find ways to make it stable in there once I moved everything because I didn’t want a cave-in, but it would be an excellent way to keep things for longer.
I cleaned up and then went to bed. It had been a long day that ended in more questions.

I woke up the next morning refreshed. I'd not asked Sam any questions, so my dreams were peaceful if I'd any. It seemed like just a typical night's sleep which was nice for a change. I'd things that I needed to do this morning, like look at my stats now that I knew how to and perhaps see if they told me how to raise them. I already got a boost from my Race going up, so that was good.

Blink was in her customary place sleeping on my chest, so I didn't get up right away. I'd no genuine need to get up as I was mostly okay laying on the branches. I pulled up my stat to see where I was now.

Wild Humans are all illiterate
Then I pulled up each one to check what the stats said they did. I hoped that I could start making adjustments to myself based on where the stats were so that I could gain enough power to have a good life here. Which reminded me I still had no idea where I was, not just on a map but what was the world called and all that.
Strength:
Strength is Effects how much you can carry and how much damage that you do and speed over distance. This is the primary Attribute for warrior classes and physical working classes.
Note strength by itself doesn't determine how long you can carry something only how great a weight you can pick up.
Dexterity:
Dexterity is the attribute that governs quickness. This is not speed over distance but rather reaction times. This attribute effects actions like Parry, dodge and blocking along with skilled actions like climbing, lock picking, and dancing.
Intelligence:
This attribute governs the things of the mind. Intelligence impacts how much mana you have and how quickly you can learn Intelligence based skills such as Spells, Alchemy, Mathematics, Engineering. Intelligence also impacts the speed in which you can use intelligence based skills.
Willpower:
Will Power is the measure of you grit. This Attribute is how quickly you can recover from things such as shock, and fright. It also impacts the speed at which your Mana recovers. High will power will let you push past standard blocks of nature. This Attribute governs skills such as Resistance to torture, Animal training, negotiation and is also used for as a secondary attribute for the teaching skills.
Vigor:
Vigor is the attribute that directly governs your stamina pool. All physical and some mental actions pull from stamina. While Stamina has no skills it the primary attribute there are skills that directly affect stamina usage.
Stamina pool is Stamina x 3
Vitality:
Vitality is the attribute that governs your hit points both how many you have and how quickly you can recover it. There are skills that will affect how large this pool is.
Hit points are Health x 2
Now that I had a chance to review everything, just how vital my stats were, became apparent. It wasn't that I thought they weren't important, only that I'd faced my whole life on earth without stats, and now I was here and didn't seem to know any better. However, knowing better was where I was now, so I needed to make some progress. I saw that Intelligence played into Mana and Willpower into regeneration, which was standard in the games I played. I didn't like that my low Intelligence made it so that I was slow with my class skills, but I guessed that it only mattered if I used those skills. While magic was great and all, it seemed that the spear was better for me right now.
I guessed it was time to ask "Sam the dumb and petty" how to raise my stats. So I kicked off the spell, which I now knew took more Mana than I had…
Up my body went back with the arms, and I yelled.
"Oh great and mighty greeter Sam, I the lowly Arn beseech you to answer my question." Then with as much hate as I could put in the words, I asked as I saw the black start to take me, "How can I raise my attributes?"
Then down I went to the ground. I woke up to Blink nibbling on my fingers. I yanked my hand back and looked at her, and said, "I'm still alive, so those are mine."
She looked at me and raised her head, and did a slow circle away from me with her tail swinging. I'd say she disagreed, but that would mean that she could truly understand me, and I wasn't sure about that.
I kicked off my day with the usual plan Breakfast, Fitness training, Climbing, Running, Combat training, and Tracking. Then it was time to play at being a shaman for a tribe of one, so off to my garden I went to play with plants. I spent a good while feeling what my garden needed and started to take care of the plants. First, I got the water and river silt. Everything liked where it was planted, so I was good with that. I then climbed up to the nut trees on the next level and did the same thing. They were much slower in how they felt; I guessed that made sense they lived longer.
Next, I set down to work with Animal Empathy and Blink. It was odd as she was already bonded to me, but I felt where she wanted me to scratch and that she wanted to play, So we played, which ended up with me getting my arm cut up good as her claws were sharp. I didn't get the bleeding debuff, but I squeezed some of it out to a rock since I was bleeding. Once I'd a little puddle of the blood, I set the necklace of cores in it and got it to consume my blood.
Blood accepted

Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder
I, Mick Chadwick, regret to inform my readers that this memoir contains nothing but the truth, which in the case of Tobias MacClain, most ridiculed as Pajama Boy, is far from pleasant. If you seek to relate to a hero more than to aspire to them and have the stomach for unpleasant things such as a hero left for dead, villainous scars, bomb threats, and murderous intent, then look no further. All of these gruesome things and more await from my research, and though I do not wish them on any man or woman, I cannot bear this burden on my own much longer. In the words of Tobias MacClain himself, "Sometimes, a villainous act can cause the greatest good." I hope that all my villainous acts of sneaking, blackmailing, diary-reading, and grave-digging, among others, will be redeemed as I present this complete and truthful memoir to the world, and with any luck, open eyes to the truth of what we call "villainy". Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder ********* MATURE FILTER IS FOR:- violence- graphic imagery (blood, burns, fairly dark headspaces)- cartoon depiction of burn scars for visual aid Despite graphics, Mick Chadwick's writing keeps Mr. MacClain's terrible tale light somehow. This is foremostly a comedy.

Winter Sovereign
Serra Recquir, a boy born in the world of Sierra, was born with weak and with mediocre talent. Despite the odds, he pursued the path of cultivation. He faced numerous trials, deadly foes and great friends. Eventually, he stepped into the world of the Divine Realm. Breaking past the limits of the world and traveling to higher planes. After millions of years, he finally reached the summit. Becoming a Sovereign Paragon. Longing for the world he left countless years ago, he finally returns to his own world. Author's Note: This story is different from other wuxia novels. If those novels focus on characters that struggle from the bottom and reach the top, this story is one where someone already reached the top. I figured it would be interesting to start a novel from this concept so I started it. Well, however this plays through, just like how I finished my previous novel, Doll's Smile, I'll finish this novel too. Of course, I'm writing this novel just for fun. I like to write lighthearted novels like this. Novels that I would read while listening to music and eating snacks on a pleasant and relaxing afternoon. Do forgive me if I'm slow in writing.
