Chapter 1256 He’s John Doe!
“Rustle…”
The king cobra’s massive body rubbed against the ground as it darted swiftly toward the Seven-storey Tower in the pool. Within seconds it arrived at the pool.
It opened its mouth and immediately leaned forward to swallow the Seven-storey Tower.
Abruptly…
“Kill!”
An earth-shattering scream suddenly rang out. A beam of golden light shot out and flashed through the air with an ear-piercing sound. Like a sharp arrow that could penetrate everything, it instantly rushed toward the head of the giant king cobra and brutally aimed for its eyes.
They took a closer look.
That golden light was the spear from the Egyptt guru!
The golden light reached it quickly.
The king cobra, sensing the threat, abruptly withdrew its mouth which was close to the Seven-storey Tower. Once again, it raised its head high.
“Sizzle!”
The sound of metal colliding could be heard.
Under everyone’s gazes, the long golden spear wrapped up in energy forcefully hit the scales on the corner of the king cobra’s mouth. As a result, a burst of sparks appeared, and the long golden spear was directly knocked away. When they looked back at the scales of the king cobra, there was not even a scratch on them!
This scene shocked them to the core.
This was not the end.
The moment the golden spear was sent flying, the other seven gurus took action in unison.
Luoyun sent forth the sharp Sword Qi. As Mousolini fired, his rifle shot out bullets enveloped in energy with mighty penetrating power. The Murica guru swung a blood ball with a powerful aura. A virid longbow emerged out of the void above Francis’s hands, and he immediately let fly a long pointed arrow that was vivid green all over. In the hands of the Anglan guru was a sharp pink chain. With a wave of his hand, the L’hexagone guru launched two cards wrapped in a black aura and a figure.
The Rashk guru transformed into a werewolf in an instant. He was so fast that he could catch up with the weapons launched by the six gurus and rushed up to attack the king cobra together with them. He unsheathed his long sharp claws and scratched the giant king cobra.
“Pa…”
All of the attacks landed on the same point.
There was a mighty bang.
Immediately, the enormous body of the king cobra was pushed back and wobbled several times before it stood upright again.
“Roar!”
The king cobra was furious and roared wildly at everyone.
It whipped its thick tail violently, which sent the Rashk guru, who had rushed up to it after transforming into a werewolf, flying. With a loud crash, he was slammed into the rock wall and made a big hole in the fairly rigid rock wall!
But it was not over.
After it sent the werewolf flying, the king cobra turned its head and suddenly darted at the Rashk guru, who had just been smashed into the rock wall by it. Like when it first appeared, it shot a stream of energy Qi as thick as a bucket out of its mouth, which hit the Rashk guru instantly.

This scene frightened everyone.
How could the fierce attacks of the eight gurus not affect the giant snake?
Their attacks merely shook the snake a few times and didn’t even break its scales!
How could they win the battle?
“ROAR!”
A growl came.
After it sent the Rashk guru flying, the king cobra immediately turned its head and whipped out its tail. Its exceedingly long body immediately swept toward the seven gurus.
Instantly…
Many people had already fled in panic as they tried to leave this damned place.
In the crowd…
Fang Qiu had been observing the lower abdomen of the king cobra.
“A serpent that will soon transform into a flood dragon will be a real challenge.”
Seeing that the attacks of the eight gurus were futile, Fang Qiu couldn’t help sighing in his heart. Then he narrowed his eyes and murmured, “I was right. You must have forcibly interrupted your evolution. Otherwise, you would have already eaten the ripened Seven-storey Tower. When you were evolving, you sensed that someone was about to snatch the Seven-storey Tower, so you took the initiative to stop the evolution procedure.”
“Animals are like humans. Once they forcibly stop the cultivation at the critical moment, they will inevitably suffer a backlash, let alone this king cobra which was already on the path to becoming a flood dragon.”
“There must be a flaw.”
With this in mind…
Fang Qiu excitedly shifted his eyes to the giant snake’s lower abdomen near its tail.
He knew that the snake slough was the entire layer of skin that came off its body and the key part was at the snake’s tail. Its evolution would be complete only when all the skin, including the skin on its tail, fell off naturally.
If the evolution had been forcibly interrupted, the snake tail that hadn’t yet been fully transformed would suffer from injuries!
Under these circumstances…
The snake’s tail must be its weak point.
“Hmm?”
Sure enough…
Fang Qiu observed the snake for a while. When the giant snake swept its tail across the seven gurus, he saw a transparent scale that was located about four or five meters away from its lower abdomen to its tail.
The snake scale had not transformed fully yet.
In other words, that snake scale must be the weakest and softest part of its body!
With that in mind…
Fang Qiu no longer hesitated.
“Swoosh!”
With a slight shift, he directly rushed toward the giant snake attacking the eight gurus. As he leaped into the air, he clenched his right hand and formed his Divine Sword instantly.
He looked over.
The eight gurus were so busy dodging the attack that they didn’t notice Fang Qiu at all.
Instead, on the other side…
When the four special envoys from the four great countries saw the Divine Sword taking form in Fang Qiu’s hand, their eyes widened in shock.
“John Doe?”
“He is John Doe!”
Hearing the shout, the people around immediately turned to look at Fang Qiu.

In midair…
“Three-point Shadowless Sword!”
Fang Qiu slashed at the transparent scale below its lower abdomen when the giant snake swept its tail out.
Because this attack was a complete surprise, the serpent didn’t have time to avoid it and was cut by the Sword Qi which erupted from Fang Qiu’s Divine Sword.
“Pfft!”
As the Sword Qi slashed at the snake scale, it instantly shattered.
“Roar!”
The moment the scale broke, the king cobra swiftly turned its head and pounced on Fang Qiu in anger, its mouth wide open.
It moved extremely fast.
Fang Qiu diverted its attention, so the eight gurus could finally escape from the king cobra’s attack range.
They turned around.
To their astonishment, Fang Qiu had smashed the snake scale.
This scene shocked the seven gurus, except for Luoyun. No one had expected that Well Known was John Doe from Huaxia!
Instantly…
“Whoosh.”
After Fang Qiu cracked its scale, the giant snake coiled its body and wrapped itself around the pool with the Seven-storey Tower, and hid its broken scale.
When Fang Qiu saw it doing that…
He narrowed his eyes and said, “If you don’t want to die, throw in your whole might to fight it to death after I break its defense!”
With this…
Fang Qiu flew up in the air, surrounded by vibrant energy Qi, and looked like an omnipotent god of war!
The eight gurus heard that.
Without hesitation, Luoyun was the first to rush behind Fang Qiu, ready to support him at any time. Meanwhile, he could prevent others from secretly assaulting Fang Qiu.
The remaining seven gurus looked at each other and got into position instantly.
In the air…
“That scale was a soft spot. But since I could penetrate it with the Three-point Shadowless Sword, I may break the other scales. If one sword strike fails, I can do it twice!”
Fang Qiu made up his mind.
He knew that the king cobra would never expose its flaws, and the only chance was to attack it head-on.
Notably…
The king cobra wrapped itself around the pool to use its body as a line of defense. After it surrounded the pool and the Seven-storey Tower, its solid outer scales could block all the attacks and create a chance for it to swallow the Seven-storey Tower!
But would Fang Qiu let it do this?
Of course not!
Although Fang Qiu wanted to see a flood dragon with his own eyes, he knew that once the giant king cobra evolved into a flood dragon, everyone here would die, including himself.
So he couldn’t wait!
“Three-point Shadowless Sword!”
Locking his eyes on a scale under which was the king cobra’s heart, Fang Qiu launched another fierce attack without hesitation and slashed down hard.
As a result…
The king cobra ignored him and lowered its head, ready to swallow the Heaven Treasure.
His Sword Qi dropped downward.
“Boom!”
A loud bang rang out as the Sword Qi violently struck the scale. However, it did not cause any reaction.
Fang Qiu was anxious.
“Thunderbolt-absorbing Technique!”
With a wave of his long sword, a dazzling lightning bolt appeared. As Fang Qiu gathered the violent internal Qi in his body and wielded his Divine Sword, a huge bolt of astral energy erupted from his sword. At breakneck speed, it bombarded the same scale which protected the serpent’s heart.
After this stinging blow…
The king cobra’s huge body shook wildly.
The king cobra, about to bite the Seven-storey Tower, was pushed aside and missed its target.
However, it didn’t hesitate and lost no time in aiming for the Seven-storey Tower again.
“Damn it!”
“Tiangang Kills Demons!”
Fang Qiu bellowed angrily, knowing that he couldn’t delay any longer. He had to, first of all, stop the giant snake from swallowing the Heaven Treasure.
His bellow sounded.
A layer of terrifying and sharp astral energy from the sword burst out within a hundred meters.
“Boom!”
The endless astral energy of the sword whirled and formed a huge tornado. This extremely sharp astral energy of the Sword Qi then beat brutally against the serpent’s body. At the same time, the tremendous rotating force made the serpent’s body twist continuously.
As the appalling astral energy of the sword pulled violently against the giant snake, its body loosened a little.
“Roar!”
Once again, the king cobra failed to eat the Seven-storey Tower. In a rage, it raised its head and roared at Fang Qiu, who released a tornado of astral energy from the sword.
Just then…
“Great Hand of Destruction!”
Fang Qiu waved his left hand. In an instant, he gathered all the astral energy of the sword around him and slammed his palm strike toward the scale covering its heart.
This blow, which was as equivalent to thousands of sword attacks, hit that scale with a mighty thump.
The next moment…
“Crack!”
A crisp sound was heard.
Shockingly, a crack appeared on the scale.
Instantly…
“Space-splitting Sea-cracking Sword!”
Fang Qiu held up the Divine Sword in his hand again, mustered all his internal Qi, and slashed at the scale.
At this very moment…
Everyone’s eyes widened as they stared at Fang Qiu in shock.
There…
Instantly, a beam of half-moon-shaped Sword Qi filled with a destructive aura flew out of the blade and slammed heavily into the cracked scale.
“Boom!”
It sounded like a loud explosion of fireworks.
Under the incredulous gazes of the eight gurus and before everyone’s shocked eyes, the half-moon-shaped Sword Qi cut into the giant snake, which brought up a tidal wave of blood that splattered into the air!

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Just so you aren't confused I wrote this book directly from the movie and it's just what I wanted to happen or thought would happen instead of what really happened. DO NOT come to my comments telling me it's like the movie cause I know that's the whole point. I wanted the movie to go different in some parts so I made a book on it.
