"Ashley, for the fifth time, please restrain yourself from causing any sort of trouble at this school." My Father exhaled a deep breath while narrowing his eyes at me.
"I will keep my head down and stay out of trouble though I always seem to be caught up in something." I recalled my old school events and unforgettable moments while tapping a finger against my chin.
He glared at me.
"Ashley, I am serious." He told me while throwing his newspaper article onto the kitchen counter.
"Me too, Dad, but it's like karma." With that, I pecked his cheek and I quickly exited the house before I could encounter my Stepmother for a next hour of lecture.
I headed out of the mansion and hopped onto my forbidden bike which I shouldn't be riding in the first place, according to the warnings from my stepmother about my Father's 'reputation'.
I put on my helmet and started up the bike then I drifted towards the entrance of the estate. I saw the security guard at the entrance and I rode onto the streets when he finally opened the gates.
After few minutes of drifting towards my new school and violating a stop light, since I was currently late, I finally reached my destination.
As I arrived at the parking lot on the school's property, I saw curious eyes looking in my direction.
Beverly Hills Highschool?
I found a suitable empty space in the lot and I decided to park my bike at the spot.
I slowly hopped off and I stood beside my bike.
Then I looked around with my helmet to see most students staring at me.
I glanced down at my clothing since I was wearing
My blonde hair was let loose as I removed my helmet and placed it onto my bike.
I flashed my hair behind my shoulders and I started to walk towards the school building.
"Hey, you!" I heard a male voice coming towards me.
I slowly turned around to see a pair of sparkling blue eyes coming my way, but the owner of those enticing eyes, seemed rather annoyed.

He had short dirty blond hair which was simply styled upward and I began to find his appearance fascinating as he came towards me.
He wore a black ripped pants with a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket with a pair of matching shoes.
Then I realized he had two other Greek Gods walking beside him and I inhaled a breath as they stood before me.
"How can I help you?" I simply asked as I looked at the three skyscrapers standing before me.
"You parked your bike in my spot." He informed me as he pointed to the spot where I parked my bike.
I raised an eyebrow.
"I don't see your name, so what's the problem?" I asked as I looked at my bike while realizing there were other empty spots in the parking lot.
He glared.
"You seem new to this school, so I will let this slide, but I still need to park my bike, so get your bike out of my parking spot." He raised his voice while crossing his arms over his chest.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not moving my bike, since I was here first and I swear..." I took a step closer to stare at his alluring face.
"If you lay a finger on my bike, you will regret it and take that as a warning." I warned him with a poke of my index finger against his chest before I started to walk away.
"You're the one that will be regretting this later and take that as a hint." I heard him declaring.
I smirked..."Hint taken, asshole."
"Make sure, blonde."
********
The bell rings for second period and I exhaled a groan as everyone quickly exited the classroom.
I stood up from my seat and I walked out of the boring history class as if I was a zombie.
I slowly began to look for my locker in the crowded hallway and I accidentally bumped into the asshole from this morning.
"Well, hello blonde." He looked at me with unbothered eyes as he stopped by in the hall.

I rolled my eyes.
"What a big school we are in, huh?" I said, sarcastically as I took a step around him.
"A big school with a lot of bitches, indeed." He nodded as he turned to look at me and I chuckled, bitterly.
"Most definitely and starting with the biggest one which is you, of course." I shot back before I went over to my locker which was across the hallway.
"And ending at you, I might add." I heard him saying.
"Well, it's better to be a bad bitch than a womanizer and straight back at you, punk." I shrugged while I glanced at him and his eyebrows knitted together.
I stared at him as I opened my locker and he remained silent with his hands in his pockets.
I smirked.
"Well, do you need me to draw a map to show you the way to get the fuck out of my school and my parking spot?" He asked, nonchalantly as he slowly approached over to me.
I scoffed as I fetched my books from my locker.
"No, but I can draw you a map so when I tell you to fuck off, you know exactly where to go." I informed him and he ruffled his hair while looking at me, sideways.
"And where is that, in your bed?" The crowd came walking in, once again and I fake chuckled.
"Keep dreaming, loser." I told him as I slammed my locker closed.
"But why would I even want someone like you?" He asked with curiosity in his tone as if he was asking himself.
I shrugged.
"Because I'm in limited edition and there're no copies of me. So, see ya!" I did a little salute with a wink and I walked through the parting crowd.
********
It was finally time for my last class of the day, but I couldn't find the classroom and I ended up getting lost, surprisingly.
I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair and suddenly, I saw a familiar figure strolling into the hallway.
It was one of the dudes who were hanging around with that specific asshole this morning.
And unfortunately, I didn't even know their names.
He saw me gawking at him and he looked around in the partly empty hall before he raised a brow at me.
He began to approach me.
"Are you lost?" He chuckled.
"I really don't know." I admitted while he stood before me.
"My name is Chase and what's yours?" He asked while his dark green eyes met mine.
"Ashley." I introduced myself and he nodded while I realized he had black messy hair.
"Which class are you supposed to have now?" He inquired as he stared at me. He seemed quite different from that asshole and in a socializing way, so far.
"Mathematics...at room 214." I recalled my schedule.
"214?" He asked, curiously.
I nodded.
"I have the same class too, so I guess we can go together." He confirmed while checking the smartphone in his hand.
I shrugged.
"Oh, come on, I won't bite." He chuckled at my sudden tension.
"Plus, do you want me to leave you here, walking around like a headless chicken?" He smirked while gesturing his empty hand for me to look around in the hallway.
"No." I slightly chuckled as well and he simply nodded.
We began to walk down the hallway in silence and soon after, we came to a stop at a classroom which displayed the number '214' on the door.
When we entered the classroom, the teacher was interrupted, so she came to a stop with her teaching.
I watched as the students diverted their attention to us.
Then I came eye to eye with a pair of blue eyes and straight away, I knew I was going to have an everlasting year in this new school.
Well, let's make the best of it!

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
