Volume 1 Chapter 29 Side Story: The lizard that ate humans
“A Blessed Child part 5.5
-The Blessed Child arrived in the small village he had seen in the distance.
-A woman crying could be seen from the moment the blessed entered the town.
-She said how a lizard had eaten her five years old daughter.
-The Child did not believe her as she was dirty and flies were turning around her head.
-The Child continued walking toward the nearest hotel.
-When he entered he could see the cold atmosphere of the place.
-People did not talk, did not play cards and did not drink.
-The Blessed Child went to the counter and paid for a room using the merchant’s money.
-That merchant really was a good bloke, when it was time to pay up, he paid for the help he had received.
-That merchant had done what every citizen of the Silver Ridge Dynasty should do.
-So the kid got a room for himself and went to sleep.
-When the blessed woke up, the dark clutches of the night had already taken hold of the town.
-He went down the stairs and listened to the travelers’ small talk.
-They said how there was something in the midst of the night that killed even the most hardened warriors.
-The kid proposed a round of cards with one of the travelers.
-The man was not willing at first but once the blessed put a big pouch of coin as a bet the man agreed.
-They played JAQ (Jack, Ace, Queen) for most of the night.
-As the sun was slowly rising in the distance, the kid went out of the hotel.
-In front of the doorstep was lying a dead body.
-Half of the body had been eaten by a large mouth full of teeth.

-The kid walked over the body to go buy some pastries, the corpse was not someone he knew so he didn’t have time to waste.
-The man he had played JAQ with turned out to be a very interesting person to talk to.
-The man was a Scholar and a Thieve, he had talked about some of the robberies he had done before and had been able to captivate the kid’s attention during the whole night.
-The Scholar had said how he had stolen a big diamond a few days back.
-The blessed came back from the bakery with a bag full of yummy pastries.
-He had taken a few more to share with his new acquaintance.
-As he walked back he saw a giant lizard sleeping on its back.
-The kid went up to him and asked what its favorite sleeping position.
-The annoyed lizard yelled at the kid that he had been sleeping on its back and had been very comfortable as it was before being talked to.
-The Blessed Child deducted that the lizard was a Great Sleeping Gecko.
-The kid had heard numerous rumors about the greatness of beds stuffed full of Great Sleeping Gecko’s scales.
-And so the kid took the big lizard by the tail and swung it toward a wall.
-Crack, the house bursted open as the weight of the lizard destroyed the wall.
-The now awake Gecko came out of the broken house, much more angry than before.
-The Great Sleeping Gecko asked the blessed if he was there to slay him as the others had tried before.
-The kid asked in turn why the Gecko was being attacked by those people.
-The lizard answered that he had eaten humans and drank a Klous, because of that numerous “slayers” had come to take his head as a trophy.

-The kid said that he was only fighting because he had heard that mattresses made with Great Sleeping Gecko’s scales were very comfortable and that he wanted one.
-The enraged Gecko rushed mouth wide open toward the kid.
-The strongman that had become the blessed put one hand on the palate mouth and one hand on the lower mouth to hold the Gecko’s bite.
-The kid kicked the giant Gecko’s tummy, the lizard let out a rotten breath as it held its belly in pain.
-It cried out on how the blessed was a monster, the kid had probably destroyed its stomach, now it would not be able to eat anything other than soup.
-The Gecko tried to trip the blessed using its tail as a whip.
-The lizard swung its tail toward the kid’s leg.
-Clunk, the tail stuck an iron wall.
-The Blessed Child’s legs were so strong and firm that the tail swing did not make him fall.
-The Gecko looked at the kid in shock, this kid was something else.
-He was way too strong to fight, so the lizard did the only logical thing to do and started fleeing from the broken street they were in.
-The kid gave chase as he really wanted that new mattress.
-The two of them ran through the city, one running for its life, the other running for a new mattress.
-The kid had an idea, he took a roof and threw it toward the fleeing Great Sleeping Gecko.
-The Gecko barely dodged by ducking at the last second, it entered a house to shield itself from more roof throws.
-The kid arrived on top of the lizard’s shelter and punched with as much strength as he could the roof.
-The entire house broke down under the strength of the blow.
-As the building crumbled, the Gecko threw a man in its mouth to give itself more energy.
-It leaped from the debris toward a fountain in the middle of the town.
-The blessed followed, he arrived in front of the fountain as the Gecko was on the other side.
-The lizard looked at him, time seemed to slow down.
-Both were looking in each other's eyes, the Gecko once again leapt up, trying to flee once again.
-It was a mistake to jump over the kid’s head as the Blessed Child jumped to perform an aerial headbutt.
-Both were in the air, one out of breath from the heavy hit and one ready to kill.
-The kid started punching with so much strength and speed that each of the hits were breaking the sound barrier.
-The sonic booms were able to destroy the witnesses’ eardrum but the kid had a constitution strong enough to handle it.
-The kid took the Great Sleeping Gecko by the tail and swung it toward the pointy tip of the fountain.
-The fountain impaled the Gecko’s heart and put an end to its life.
-The Blessed Child had saved the town from the Gecko and had become the one that had killed the lizard that ate humans.”

One Piece: The legend of Johnny Silverhand
Just when I thought my life couldn't get crazier, I died unexpectedly and got sent to the world of one piece as Johnny's silver hand from cyberpunk 77 of all people. The first chapter contains system elements, but this is not a gamer or a system fan-fic. The earlier chapters are unedited and may contain some typos and minor grammar errors, but the later ones improve tremendously. So stick around, and I promise you'll be in for a treat.

Paternum: A Superhero Story
When Quinn finds an experimental superpower-granting costume in their parents’ attic, they didn’t expect to be drawn into a web of superhuman intrigue, but their discovery serves as the catalyst for that conspiracy to slowly unravel. At it’s heart, Paternum is an extended coming-of-age story for the main character as they become a superhero, in a world with more reasonable stakes and less powerful heroes than many superheroic worlds. Themes include what art means to different people, and what it means to be a patron, whether as a sponsor, a parent, or a supporter. I consider Paternum‘s primary influences to be the various versions of Spider-Man, J. C. McCrae’s own superhero story Worm, and Drew Hayes’ story SuperPowereds. I hope that fans of such stories can find something to enjoy in mine as well. Paternum is primarily hosted on my website (thevoidwrites.com) where it updates weekly in groups of scenes totalling approximately 2000 words. Here on Royal Road, it will update once daily with one scene at a time, but only after each act is completed on the home site - the next batch of updates is scheduled to begin on February 5th. There is a discord channel for discussion (discordapp.com/invite/QFMM6yA), and you can vote for Paternum on topwebfiction (topwebfiction.com/vote.php?for=paternum) as well. Finally, you can buy the first book of Paternum, The Swift Uplifting Rush, in a couple different ways - as an ebook through Amazon, or directly from me for a discounted price, or as a physical paperback from Amazon. Buying the book will give you access to Drawing Hands, an exclusive arc that won't ever be published on either my site or Royal Road.

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!

The Tale of A Fortunate Slave
In the world of Valeria, The capital of The Kingdom of Albert is besieged and yet our story dose not begin in a stronghold or castle. Our protagonist is not strong or powerful, quite the opposite in fact, she is a ex-slave. An ex-slave that got "lucky" in a way that some fear and despise while others enjoy and like her. This is the story of the quite Ash the slave turned personal servant of the daemon princess Lucy Darkheart. This is very much a work in progress so please understand if there's any mistakes or errors. Not only that but I am a novice so that kind of thing is to be expected. Thank you! Edit: Updates are whenever I make one or two new chapters so expect them to be as inconstant as a dragons fire breath. *Tags and Genres may be added as the story progresses. I have a Twitter now cause it would not stop bugging me when I wanted to look at news for a game, the link is here, https://twitter.com/JustAPhoenix2 . I don't know if it works or not on the edit screen, but you can copy/paste it anyway. I may do stuff there like give insight to some of the more trivial parts of the characters lives. (That refers to ALL character, not just Ash.)
