《Born of Valar》Chapter 22

Tyr jumped in a way that would make it so he would land face first into the puddle, then activated his levitation ability to float just a little above it. Once this was done, he reached into the puddle till the dug into the dirt beneath the water and scoped it out, followed by then quickly deactivating and and reactivating his levitation.
The Jotun had already jumped off the cliff, and by his fifth digging Tyr heard the splash of the water. He soon heard the others cheering for their diver, though they seemed to lack some bravado due to Tyr's digging dive through their cliff.
I think it may be in my best interest to try and now angle myself to the side as to actually reach the water.
Tyr then began to swing his stubbed arm against the walls near his face and floor, breaking rock and scrapping dirt away to create an opening. By the tenth scrape, Tyr manage to break through to air and fell into the water.
Though he held his breath at first, he soon remembered that it was unnecessary and pushed through rather quickly. Within an hour of his dive he saw the Jotun diver, though much to Tyr's chargin he was ascending while Tyr was still descending.
He had a head start, but I'm too stubborn to give up at this point.
Tyr then took a deep breath and moved all his limbs together in one motion, causing him to propel himself forward harder and harder. The water darkened greatly to the point that Tyr nearly rammed his head on the bottom before he saw it. He then twisted himself so that he was crouching on the bottom for a moment, before jumping off it while activating his levitation ability. Tyr grunted in surprise at the pressure his limbs felt as he was soaring up thru the water.

Now I know what an arrow feels like when shot from a bow.
Tyr strained a little to raise his head so he was looking up, and found that he was starting to make out first light and then the shape of the Jotun.
After a few minutes Tyr could better make out the other diver, and saw the Jotun look down to see Tyr smiling at him. This caused the Jotun to allow bubbles to escape his mouth in surprise before he likewise began to soar upward, though Tyr was still gaining albeit slowly.
Well, well, what have we here?
Tyr look down to see a small group of sperm whales begin to swim up from below him, moving as though they were trying to escape something. That something revealed itself to be a gaping maw that swallowed two whales whole, before showing a pair of massive pale yellow eyes burning with a wicked hunger.
Seems that kraken and whales may not be my only morsels for today. Some land meat is just the treat I need.
No wonder the pool was so deep, it connects to Midgard's oceans. That's Jormungandr!
Tyr looked at the Jotun and saw that he likewise realized the threat, pumping his limbs as his life depended on it. Tyr was doing similarly, and felt a growing dread as he heard the frequency of whale calls become more rapid but less numerous. He soon found himself neck and neck with the Jotun diver, who gestured to their side. Tyr glimpse over and saw the light near them started to form some sort of shape, which Tyr hoped to be a barrier.
Think a little Jotun magic will deny me my food? Foolish morsels.
Tyr looked down and saw that Jormungandr had stretched his mouth wide and was rushing towards them with a speed Tyr didn't think a beast that size should move. Yet Tyr felt now not fear, but resolve; he deactivated his levitation and veered to the side just enough to be at the edge of Jormungandr's mouth.

As the tip of Jormungandr's mouth reached them, Tyr slammed his fist on Jormungandr's nose, causing the snake to recoil in surprise. The recoiling caused Jormungandr to pass once more below the light, and his attempt to rise above it was stopped.
Another day my treats. Another day.
Tyr activated his levitation once more and rose to catch up with the Jotun diver, who was nearing the surface.
