《Unfortunate Transmigrator》Announcement

Almost two years ago, I started publishing Unfortunate Transmigrator, and upon reaching “Chapter 5: Is Your Head Fine?”, I disappeared. What happened was that, at the time, I hadn’t finished outlining Unfortunate Transmigrator; I had only outlined some characters, certain aspects of the setting, and part of the plot. Because I was in a hurry to start publishing again, however, I convinced myself that the little I had done was sufficient and started publishing the story. After I published the fourth chapter, however, I realized that I had gotten ahead of myself; the little I had outlined was nowhere near enough. That’s why I put the story on hiatus and restarted working on their outlines.
As I didn’t want to repeat the mistake of publishing a story before I was ready, I decided that I would only start publishing the story again once I had it fully outlined (in terms of character, setting, and plot) as well as a substantial stockpile of chapters—and that’s precisely what I did. All in all, it took me nearly two years, but I believe it was worth it. This time around, I’m here to stay—there will be no more hiatuses or breaks. Not only do I now know exactly what I’m going to write—which means I couldn’t write myself into a corner even if I wanted to—but I also spent too much time and effort on Unfortunate Transmigrator to discontinue it. Nothing short of death can stop me from seeing it through to completion.
As I’ve made too many changes to the story to simply edit the chapters already uploaded, I’ve created new pages for the new versions of Unfortunate Transmigrator. I’ll be deleting the old entry of the story (the one this announcement was published in) a month from now. You can find the new entry of the story in my profile (the old entry will have “(Discontinued Version)” added to its title, whereas the new entry will just have its original title).

Throughout the next few weeks, I’ll be publishing chapters of Unfortunate Transmigrator following an accelerated schedule of 1 chapter per day at 8:12 AM Eastern Time to give the story some momentum. After I’ve gone through my stockpile of chapters, I’ll be changing the upload schedule to 1 chapter every Tuesday and Saturday (still at 8:12 AM ET), each chapter being usually between 2,000 and 3,000 words long. Later on, I might increase the number of chapters I’ll be publishing per week, but for now, that’s what I have planned.
On a related note, to those of you who are unaware, Unfortunate Transmigrator is actually an adaptation of sorts of another story of mine, Cultivation Done Right, which can be found on Scribble Hub—another web serial publishing platform, where I also publish. I recommend looking up the story and checking out the last two announcements. For those that can’t be bothered to do so, what you should know is that Unfortunate Transmigrator is actually a rewrite of Cultivation Done Right, so this new rewrite that I’m announcing is actually the second rewrite of this story—that is, my third attempt (and as they say, the third time’s the charm). If, for some reason, you decide to read Cultivation Done Right, please bear in mind that I wrote it over three years ago, so I’ve improved as a writer since then.
TL;DR: I’m back, and I apologize for taking so long. I’ve started rewriting Unfortunate Transmigrator, and you can find the new version of the story in my profile.

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
