"I don't get it MK." I sigh as I rest my head on my hands. My sister wraps her arms around my shoulders as she comforts me.

"None of us do, but we don't know what happened. She seems happy as ever." She states, sounding genuinely confused.

"What did the officer say?" I inquire since I wasn't present when Casey got brought back home.

"She was found at an airport. Apparently, Casey saw the interview Scarlett gave and so did another woman. She called the tip line. Dylan had two tickets to Tunisia on him."

I furrow my eyebrows, realising how close I was to losing my daughter.

I mean Casey. Losing Casey.

"Did he... Do anything to her?" I ask almost inaudible as I close my eyes, scared of the answer. I hear MK taking a deep breath before responding.

"She got taken to the hospital right after, she was dehydrated, lost quite some weight, and was sleep deprived. They gave her an IV for an hour or so, but she felt very uncomfortable and refused to eat or sleep. They thought it would be better for her to recover here." Mary-Kate says carefully.

I look up at my sister, noticing how she's not giving me a direct answer. "Did he touch her?" I ask with a raised voice, glaring at my sister.

"They're not sure yet. She has some bruises on her body."

I turn to focus on the girl that went through so much the past few days, but here she is. Laughing and smiling while doing whatever she is doing with Rose.

"She seems different." I state out of nowhere after observing her movements.

My mother joins our conversation and sits down next to me, laying her hand on my thigh. "Of course she seems different. You both do." She says while looking at Casey.

"You should talk to her." Mary-Kate states, kissing my head and walking away to join the playing kids.

"She's right you know, you should." Mom smiles weakly before standing up, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

I would love to talk to her, to hold her and to make her giggle. I already lost my daughter, so why am I so afraid of losing more? As if I haven't lost everything already.

I stand up to make my way over to Ashley, but Scarlett runs in front of me. "Hey Liz, is it okay if I take Casey to the movie theaters for the rest of the day?" She inquires.

"Of course, why would you ask me?" I state while tilting my head in confusion. She chuckles, a warm smile forming on her lips.

"You're still her mother Lizzie. Nothing can change that." She says, looking around her before giving me a quick peck on the cheek and turning around to run excitedly to Casey.

Without any warning, she picks her up and drags her through the hallway. It warms my heart to hear the giggles coming from Casey, but it pains me that I'm not the reason for her happiness.

I don't make her happy anymore.

"We're going to spend some quality time together, how does that sound?" I ask Casey as I help tying her shoes and put on her coat.

She looks up at me with a wide smile, nodding her head and skipping to the door. I follow her suit, closing the front door behind me as Casey runs to the car.

I open the car door and buckle her in, double-checking to make sure she's secure. When I walk to the driver's seat, I see Lizzie peaking toward me through the curtains.

I offer her a small smile, accompanied by a wink before getting in the car.

Don't worry Liz. Whatever is going on, I'm going to fix it.

I promise.

"Have you ever been to the movie theaters?" I ask Casey as we step out of the car. She shakes her head making me grin.

"Well, we're going to change that today." I smile widely as we approach the entrance.

Someone is already waiting for us and he guides us to an empty cinema. I look at Casey whose jaw is practically hanging on the floor.

She blinks slowly as she takes everything in, the giant screen and the large rows of empty seats. She jumps up when a loud audio starts to play through the speakers, covering her ears.

An employee of the movie theater walks in not much later, holding a plate full of snacks I ordered. I ask her if she could lower the sound of the stereo.

I motion for Casey to sit on a VIP chair next to me as the movie starts to play. The sound lowers to just the perfect volume right when the Marvel logo merges into the tesseract.

"It can be a bit Scary, but I promise all turns out well in the end. And I'm right here with you." I whisper at Casey who is looking at the screen attentively.

I'm not completely sure if I should have taken a 7-year-old to watch this movie, but knowing I have to fix whatever is going on between her and Lizzie, this was the first and best idea that popped into my mind.

We watch Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, and of course Jeremy Renner do their magic on screen right before the Avengers Logo appears.

Casey looks very confused at me so I chuckle at her. "Just wait." I smile. She nods slowly, turning her attention back to the screen just in time to see Natasha getting slapped in her face.

Casey jumps up and clings onto my arm. I lift her up and set her on her lap which seems to help. She lays her head on my chest, but gasps loudly when my face appears on screen clearly.

I giggle, holding her closer as she completely relaxes and keeps her eyes on the screen.

Halfway through the movie the screen goes black, much to Casey's disliking. I assure her that it is just a small break which she seems to accept reluctantly.

"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" I ask her, turning her body so she's sitting on my lap facing me. She shakes her head with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure?" I ask her with a smile. This time she nods her head with a lot more confidence.

"Okay then, we'll still have to wait a few minutes for the movie to continue. Maybe we can talk a bit?" I ask her carefully, not sure yet how I'm going to approach this.

She slowly nods her head, clearly suspecting something is up.

"You uh. You seem different." I state carefully, earning me nothing but a curious look. "I mean, of course, you'd be different after almost getting abducted to another country. But still." I state, rambling.

She keeps her eyes focused on mine, making me nervous. "I know you really liked Dylan, so that must have been difficult for you." I continue, but her expression doesn't change.

"We really missed you you know." I try, but again, nothing.

"So did Lizzie." I state, finally earning me a reaction. Her eyes grow wide as I gain her undivided attention.

"When we realised you were gone, she spend every minute searching for you. She even visited Dylan, but he told her that he didn't know anything."

But he did know something? I was with him. He knew that. Why didn't he tell her?

"I'm sorry Casey, I really am. We may not know the full extent of your pain from the past, but I know how much you trusted him. It must be difficult realising someone you trusted lied like that." She continues, sounding genuinely sorry.

I nod slowly, getting off her lap as I hear the volume of the stereo turning back on. I get back into my seat, trying to focus on the movie but my mind is clouded by one thought and one thought only.

Dylan lied.
