《The Secretary》Roadtrip

As soon as Jensen threw Jj's suitcase in the truck bed with the others, and we got Jj in the backseat, buckled and ready to go, we headed onto the US-84 West.
We were headed to Utah, it was Jensen's idea to surprise her with horseback riding in the mountains. And then head to Arizona for the Colorado river and the Grand Canyon.
There was soft country music playing from the aux, Then by Brad Paisley.
"No matter how many times I have to say it, you always had good taste in country music." Jensen whispered.
Wondering why he was whispering, I glanced back as Jj, who was sprawled in the back seat, sound asleep. Smiling I turned back to Jensen.
"I don't recall the last time I heard those words come out of your mouth Ackles." I smirked.
"I know, I know, I was a," He paused looking back a Jj in his rear view, then lowering his voice even more, "dick. I was a dick. I'm sorry." He glanced at me.
I couldn't help but laugh a little, making sure to stay quiet, as he looked at me nervously.
"Jensen I already forgave you relax. You've learned your lesson already, it's not like you'd do something like that again. Unless your just stupid..." I joked.
"Oh I see your just trying to make me feel bad, you little jerk." He smiled, slapping his hand on my thigh, and letting it rest there.
"Nope, just reminded you of your mistake, that's all." I said innocently.
"You are such a jerk sometimes you know that?" He said, a toothy grin playing on his lips.
"Well, of course I am. I'd have no personality if I hadn't been!" I said in a dramatic whisper.

He chuckled softly at my impression of a British accent whilst being overly dramatic.
"God, why'd I ever leave you?" He breathed.
I said nothing, as he was my boss, as well as my best friend, but still my boss. He shouldn't be... no, we're not working right now, he can do whatever he wants. Although his warm hand was still resting on my thigh, and it was softly rubbing from my knee to mid thigh.
I couldn't allow that, I can't be another one of his girls, I just can't. I grabbed his hand and put it back on his lap, careful not to touch anything else.
Instantly I regretted snatching a look at his face. It was full of hurt and disappointment, and although he was an actor, and he was great at hiding it, didn't mean he didn't leave small hints.
As the awkward tension grew, I finally said something.
"I'm, I'm going to get some rest. Let me know if you need me to drive for a while. Feel free to change the music if you'd like." I said, pushing my seat back farther and getting comfortable, my back facing him.
"Alright, sleep well darli- uh Y/n."
I hummed in response, ignoring the fact he almost called me darling, as I was already drifting off to sleep.
