《Violet Eyes || Haikyuu!! Fanfiction ||》Chapter 1: Decision

Mizuki Ayame tightly gripped the paper she was holding as she slowly approached her mother. The nights in Tokyo are quite cold and she couldn't help but shiver from the cold and nervousness. She prepared for this time to tell mom about her decision. The only thing that's left is her mom's decision. She wanted this and prayed to every deity that her mom will agree.
"Aya-chan..."her mom called from the dining room, startling her "Are you planning to go to Nekoma High on your first year? I have a friend there named Nekomata-sensei and he said that it's a good school for you"
"About that...Mom, I-I have something to tell you..." she stammered. Her mom noticed the paper she was holding and sighed.
"I guess you have something else in mind. Do you want to go to Fukurodani Academy? Though I heard that most students there are boys but it seems like a good school. Is that where you wish to go?" her mom asked her again.
"N-no, not in Tokyo..." she said, her hands shaking as she opened the paper she's holding and presented it to her mom "I-I want to go to Karasuno High, in Miyagi" she said with finality, the paper she's holding is shaking.
Her mom gently took the paper and read it before placing it on top of the table "Are you sure you want to go back, Aya-chan? It may be hard for you because of what happened"
She shook her, firm of her decision "Yes. It's okay, mom. I'll be okay...You have nothing to worry about it. That was seven years ago and Dr. Nakamura helped me about it" she explained. She knows that going back to Miyagi will trigger old memories but she was firm with her decision.

Her mom thought hard and took her daughter's hands "All right, if that's what you wish, I accept it. Besides, I miss our old home and I haven't seen some old friends in the last seven years. It might be good start for us, right?"
"Yes, thank you!" she clapped her hands and happily hugged her mother. Finally, her mom agreed!
"I think we should start packing tomorrow so we can enrol you at Karasuno early. Good night" her mom told her, ruffling her hair.
Ayame nodded and went to her room. It will be easy to pack her stuff because she only has a few things that she needed. She crawled on her bed and slept a dreamless night, which is a good sign.
After a few days, Ayame finished packing all her belongings. She'll definitely miss her home and Tokyo. It is, after all, the place where she grew up for seven years. She grabbed the picture of her dad and hugged it, tears gently falling on her cheeks.
"Dad...I'm-no...we're going home...Home..." she smiled sadly and placed the picture in her pack.
"Aya-chan, are you done there?" her mom asked her from outside her room. She quickly wiped the tears and answered a yes.
"Good, the moving van is here, so let's go" Ayame grabbed her things and bolted out of her room. Her mom took her hand and asked her again.
"Are you sure about your decision about going to Karasuno?" her mom asked her again, worried.
"Yes, mom..." she nodded "And besides, isn't that where you and dad went before?"
"Yes, but is that the reason why you want to study there? It's not that I hated Karasuno but I'm worried about your safety" her mom told her. Ayame smiled at her mother to assure her.

"That's not the only reason, mom. In volleyball, Karasuno was once a powerhouse school, right? But now, they are called the "flightless crows" and "fallen giant". I want to see if that's true and...it may sound weird but, I have a feeling that Karasuno is starting to change. And besides, I had enough of city schools. I don't want to see some old faces from my junior high years..." she said, biting her lip.
"I understand...you're so much like your dad. Both of you are volleyball enthusiasts..." her mom chuckled, making Ayame's smile grow wider "Let's go. The van's waiting..."
They rode into the van and sped off to Miyagi, her hometown. She took one final glance at the city where she was raised in the last seven years before closing her eyes.
"Goodbye, Tokyo..."
