I was in my room, petting Catboo. It was almost midnight, and my parents were asleep. Catboo was awake for some reason, but I didn't mind. It meant I didn't have to be alone.

"Catboo, did you have an owner before this," I asked.

Catboo just looked at me, and cocked his head to the side. He almost seemed human in times like these, because you could tell he was thinking hard. Plus, he understood the question.

He didn't give any sign of an answer, just stood up and stood next to my head. He began to gently hit it with his paw, and I just giggled.

"Catboo, what are you doing?"

He kept gently attacking me with a singular paw, and it tickled.

I began to giggle louder, till it was a full blown laugh.

I used to hear a simple song

That was until you came along

"Catboo, stop it! That tickles!"

Now in its place is something new

I hear it when I look at you

"SHUT UP YOU DUMB BITCH," mom screamed.

Catboo immediately stopped, and just layed down next to my head. I listened to his soft purrs and snores as he slept, and I just stared at the shadows dancing across my roof.

I didn't want to get rid of Catboo, but at the same time, he's a great cat, and I can't force someone else to live without him.

Tomorrow, I was getting Jack to help me start a search for Catboo's first owner.

Catboo began to stir in his sleep, and his tail started whipping around. He began to growl, then he just stopped.

His tail dropped, letting gravity take it to the ground. Well, more like to my upper lip where it could tickle my nose.

"Yeah, goodnight to you too," I mumbled.

Then I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep.

You took my broken melody

And now I hear a symphony~
