《hostage | all of us are dead》chapter 22 (alternate ending)

namra had just ran, and no one seemed to even care, so you decided, you would be the one to run after, eunji was next to you, so she ended up following you aswell
you could feel yourself falling ill, despite having the food and drinks from that classroom, you knew it wasn’t nearly enough to keep your body stable
since it was mostly small things like snacks and sodas, it didn’t do much for everyone, but you seemed the weakest of the bunch
the others hadn’t realized the way your eyes looked almost dead, sunken
the way your hands were sweaty but freezing
since namra was running, it meant you were close to safety, but still too far
you could still feel your head pounding, and the pain from when you fell on the rooftop
eunji saw what was happening to you, she got closer to you and held your hand, it was cold, freezing
you looked at her and tried to smile to reassure her, but you couldn’t even do that
as you tried to run more, black spots started to coat your vision, making you stop in your tracks
your ears were ringing, and then it happened
you fainted, eunji wasn’t fast enough to catch you, you fell to the left, and made a huge thud, your head hit a tiny pole, it was sharp, it dug into your skull, right on the injured part, forcing it to reopen
the others noticed how you were gone, and the way eunji screamed your name made everyone run to you, including namra
all crowding around you, eunji was leaning down, having grabbed you before you head could have gone through the pole all the way
sunhae in front to make sure you were alright, she leaned down and tried to pick you up, your body was completely limp, she took ahold of your hand, feeling how ice cold it was

inside, she panicked, she hoped you were just sick
but she took your wrist, she felt nothing, no pulse, when she touched your neck, there was nothing, your chest didn’t move
you were…dead
her breath hitched, looking towards her students, all their faces laced with worry, and it seemed to increase once her tear filled eyes met theirs
hyoryung was already crying, the silence was too loud, as it dawned on the others what happened
eunji put her hand over her mouth, you would have been fine if she could have caught you in time, was this her fault?
everyone was crying at this point, some were loud but others were silent, you, their sweet y/n, was gone?
how could they have let this happen? they should have been more careful;! they should have done something!
some blamed themselves, and others blamed their friends
none of them talked as namra grabbed your body, no one talked as they found the prettiest scenery they could, and as they buried your body
namra didn’t have the desire to eat someone anymore, seeing your body like that…it made her shiver
her eyes filled with tears, she grabbed something out of her pocket and put it where they buried you
your eraser
the one she had asked for at the beginning, she had it on her the entire time
she carved a heart into it with a pencil that day, with thoughts of making you hers finally, but she was too late
they were all too late
she still ran away, knowing if the others made it to safety, she would have experimented on
none of them talked, only sniffles were heard
as they made to the soldiers, the group only had one person on their mind

you opened your eyes, feeling suddenly better than you had just moments ago, you looked down and noticed you were wearing normal clothes and not the school uniform, you were on a road

cars looked abandoned, and there was no one around anywhere, trash filled the streets
you panicked, where did the others go?! you sat up, looking around, you noticed how you felt so much better, you touched your head where the injury was and it wasn’t there anymore?
“namra?” you shouted, maybe she was around here somewhere? “suhyeok? onjo! cheongsan?! eunji?!” you ran around, stamina you hadn’t had in days making it easier
“sunhae?! nayeon! gyeongsu!?” you kept shouting their names, but there was no one around, not even zombies
you gave up eventually, it felt like hours since you ran around the entire place and you were out of breath, this place didn’t look like the streets of korea you were once in, and with your outfit changed…
as you caught yout breath, there was a sudden bright light shined on you, at first you thought it was a person, possibly a soldier who heard your yells but when you looked up, the realization dawned on you
on a billboard, it said
game arena this way

Tales of Mana
Announcement: I (the author) am currently on a journey through guides, feedback and countless pages of miscellaneous other stuff to improve this work. I will not change the plot, but the style should be improved by a lot. I also intend to give more insights on the world and its characters. Once that is taken care of, this message will be removed. Until then, I wish you keep this in mind if you keep reading. - You know the stories about how some random person get's resurrected as the hero of a fantasy world after dying in their previous one? Well.. Mana may have been revived, but definitely not as a hero. This world does not require to be saved. It has to be changed. However.. how much can something be bent.. before breaking? - Mature tag due to: description of gory scenes. Some violence. This will go down after the first few chapters, but will resurface later on. Example: """"had literally drowned on its own blood"""". No sx scenes. To get some things out of the way: -this is my first submission, and the first story I ever wrote. If you find mistakes, or have something to criticize, please do so, but DON'T just write """"xy = bad"""". Explain me how to improve. Would be nice.

Redemption
Remnants of ancient history told of a time when great magics were possible, but now most go their entire life without knowledge of its existance. However, things will soon change as the wall holding back the past begins to break and mana again floods the world. But more than just mana was sealed away... ~ Back from a long hiatus, this time with some semblence of a plan and both the time and the desire to write. Writing still needs work to be sure, but I plan to see that chapter number get as high as I can and work out the kinks along the way.
