Once when The King Akbar

Listened to a man who said,

"I would like to test Birbal's brain

Can he separate this." he pleaded.

Birbal came forward to see

And found a strange mixture of sand,

It was mixed with sugar

The man took some in his hand.

"I want you to separate the sugar

From this without water, perfectly,

Each crystal of sugar should be

Away from the sand's company."

Birbal took the vessel of sand

And sugar, he asked for a day,

The next day he took the whole court

To the royal garden far away.

Under a tree was the sand lying and

The sugar seemed to have disappeared,

Some ants were still visible moving

Searching for any more sugar near.

Then said Birbal proudly

"My dear young man you can

Collect your sand if you want but you

Can't get the sugar from the ant."

People laughed with great delight

To see the ant's hard work was used,

To prove Birbal's cunning mind

But to give the sugar the ants refused.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'

Proved himself the smartest of all,

And with his great skills, he won

The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
