Toothless's P.O.V
Looking into the water flowing bye I tried to summon forth the light that had adorned my scales earlier. I opened my eyes and for a brief second I saw that light before it died out, but not before a memory was pulled forth from the depths of my mind. I hadn't paid it any attention in years; the memory of my father was not something I dwelled on. He had left my mother and I when I was but a hatchling all I remembered was the fight he'd had with my mother prior to his departure. She had tried to stop him saying that we depended on him, he had retorted angrily that he had to move on, that they were looking for him. I still had no idea who they were, but during this conversation... no argument, He had risen above my mother and slashed at her face his scales glowing purple as she said something I did not recall. I had sworn to myself then never to do that to anyone. And definetly not Shadow, I knew I had to make my move before it was to late.
I slashed at the water with my claws and huffed in annoyance jumping into the air. I glided over the island flying lazily until I had flown way out to sea. I could see a huge sea stack not far from me; it was a lot bigger than those near Berk. I decided to stop near the top. As my claws touched down a hollow echoing sound reverberated below me. I cocked my head in confusion before leaping off the peak of the sea stack and gliding lower. Under where I had landed was a large cave, it was big enough so that only a thin layer of stone that made up the sea stack protected the inside. I landed in it and was surprised to find it well lit despite the fact that it was turned sideways to the setting sun. Looking up I discovered small gems set into the ceiling of the cave. It was quite a beautiful sight. I turned in a circle my brows furrowed in concentration to form a plan of what I might say to her. I sighed in a satisfied way, turning back to the entrance.
I leapt out of the cave and set my plan into action swooping down to catch some fish. Within ten minutes, after flying up and down to the cave depositing fish, I decided I had enough to make a meal for two dragons. Deciding that Shadow would probably be back either with the other Berk dragons or in the sky, I turned back to the island and set course. I was about to give a certain Night Fury a surprise.

Shadow's P.O.V
I flew down to one of the rocky beaches lining the coast of the dragon island. Upon leaving Stormfly with her new friend and not finding Toothless I had decided I needed some space away from the commotion that was now behind me. I curled up by the waters edge dipping my tail into the luke-warm ocean. I tried to imagine what it was like to be Toothless, not having part of his body. I drew my tail from the water and opened and closed it experimentally.
How does he do it? I thought closing my eyes and letting my tail fall back into the water with a slight splash. The suns afternoon rays were pleasant on my skin. I spent a while just listening to the ocean lapping against the shore until I heard the beat of wings behind me. I knew it was Toothless before I even saw him. I wasn't entirely sure whether all dragons had the same senses, but my hearing was able to pick up how often the wings beat and about the length of them. A Deadly Nadders’ wing beats varied depending on their purpose, when they were just flying comfortably the wing beats were short and small whereas when speed was necessary and they quickened and deepened. A Gronkles wings seemed to only have one speed, a constant flutter. Night Fury wing beats were often quite shallow when gliding but could summon up great speed when they deepened their strokes and asked for height. This was what I was hearing now, hurried wing beats that lasted a few seconds until the dragon touched down next to me. I opened my eyes delicately and peered at Toothless who looked excited.
"Come on, I have something to show you." He said seemingly brighter than earlier. I raised my eyes before drawing my body up and stretching lazily. I stretched my wings loosening up while enjoying the last bit of sun. Then I gave my wings a sharp flap moving up to Toothless who had taken off moments before.
"So where are we going?" I asked mildly intrigued.
"You'll see,” he said not revealing anything. We flew for a while until we had left the island behind and were heading in the direction of a large sea stack. Toothless flew around the side of it a bit before the rocky stack revealed a cave. Landing in it I saw a pile of fish in the corner, the fish drew my attention to the walls and roof of the cave, which were lit by small crystals embedded in the stone.

"It's... beautiful." I whispered smiling at him.
"I thought it might be a nice spot to have dinner or something." He said shyly nodding to the fish.
"Well it's just sitting there waiting for us to eat it." I said smiling mischievously before starting on the pile of fish. After eating half the pile, Toothless seemed to loose his appetite and left me to eat the rest. He went and sat at the edge of the cave and looking down at the moonlit water.
"Hey Toothless?" I asked walking cautiously up to Toothless once I had finished the fish. He didn't acknowledge me and kept his eyes on the water. "Look, I'm really sorry." Despite this awesome dinner he had arranged for me, I decided he still was... annoyed didn't seem the right word... upset maybe?
"When I was younger I always used to compare flying to water. The waters freedom is the same freedom you have in the sky. Both dragons and a river or ocean work as one, each part has its different purpose. When I lost my tail fin, that freedom was taken away until Hiccup made me a new tail. Still that freedom didn't return. When I was with you today diving and flying, I felt that freedom I felt years ago."
I felt happiness flood through me and I nuzzled his neck hesitantly, he looked shyly at me before nudging me back. I could tell he was in a good mood now so I nipped his ear, "You want freedom, well lets go get it."
I jumped out the cave and fell roaring giddily as my stomach jumped to my throat. I heard Toothless warble something sarcastic before he followed me. I soared upwards and came face to face with him. He was staring at me and I blushed looking down as we continued to fly up. We flew opposite each other careful not to touch each other’s wings in fear it would unbalance one of us. Looking up I saw him go to lick my cheek; I smiled and stopped beating my wings falling down again. He growled in annoyance before soaring down towards me. I grinned gliding silently above the water.
"Let's go see the moon." He said roaring as he beat his wings ferociously gaining height immediately. I grinned and followed him till we landed on the top of the sea stack. The moon was huge, big enough to light everything around us. I sighed my breathing heavy from the flying before jumping slightly as Toothless licked my cheek. I turned to him and blinked my eyes once before pressing my snout to his. He made a humming sound.
"Let's go back to the cave." He whispered. I nodded wordlessly.
Hookfang's P.O.V
After an unsuccessful day of hunting down females that did not already have a mate, I was exhausted.
Stormfly was back on our ledge with her newfound friend Ember. Even Meatlug had a mate. I scowled as I flew around the island and saw Shadow and Toothless sitting on a sea stack. My expression softened a bit when I saw Shadow touch her snout to Toothless and flying off the cliff and seemingly disappearing into the very stone. I could briefly see the edge of a cave entrance on the sea stack. Well it looked like they would be busy tonight.
I couldn't help feeling the slightest bit happy for Toothless, that dragon had been through a lot and had finally found one of his own. I angled my wings away from the ocean and back towards the ledge where the other Berk dragons were spending the nights. Maybe I could say 'congrats' or 'nice catch' to Toothless tomorrow morning, I laughed imagining Toothless and Shadow's face when they realized I had seen them.
Looks like there might be an extra night fury in the world soon.

Fermboi was a man of one ideal: make the weak strong. When his rebellion against the king proved futile, he was given another chance at life. This time, he sought to do nothing after realizing the hopelessness of it all. Aventina wanted to do nothing more than to follow her father’s footsteps. On a retaliation raid against her tribe’s enemies, her brothers perished. Spared by a leader of her enemies, she returned home to find herself the chief of her tribe. Bolahulag, half-civilized and half-barbarian, half-lowborn and half-royal. Raised in his mother’s civilized tent in a sea of barbaric shelters, Bolahulag was hesitant to follow his paternal way of life. After a battle between a civilized king and his father, Bolahulag was sent as hostage to learn the economy and military of the nation his father defeated. Derai knew nothing more than being an orphan, but when a merchant took her in, the world she thought impossible soon became a reality. Monghe, stuck in a school exemplifying strength for most of his life, began to understand what he needed to do in order to be strong instead of weak. Story is mostly about nothing. Fermboi does most of the nothing. Aventina does most of the military things. Bolahulag does a balance of economy and military. Derai focuses on economy. Monghe spitfires what it means to be a typical hero. Hopefully this is enough to give a general idea to people who don’t like going blind aside from the work being purportedly “good.” Who am I kidding, my writing is terrible. I hope it improves though.
