《Lawfully Wedded》Chapter 31

.
Sanjana's P.O.V.
My whole body was aching as I sleepily made my way over to the bathroom in the room. I was the last one to wake up today since last night I couldn't sleep because of the burning sensation on my neck and shoulder and I stayed awake till 4 in the morning doing absolutely nothing but staring at the wall and occasionally watching Rohan sleeping besides me.
I groaned and threw my head back against the bathroom as I slid down on the floor.
"That is a very suggestive sound," a voice, my husband's called out from the other side of the door.
"I'll murder you, don't start in the morning and please call Monica,"
After a moment I heard Monica on the other side of the door.
"Kya hua Sanjana?"
"You have pads?"
"Oh shit I had one last that I used today, I'm sorry," she said as I opened the door.
I groaned and curled up on the bed, a little disgusted by myself but unbothered still the same.
"Can you--"
"Rohan will get it for you, I have an exam and an interview at their firm, sorry I'm running late but I'll give all the instructions to Rohan," Monica said before dropping a kiss on my cheek and running out of the room.
I might have dozed off a little because the next time I woke up was to someone's groan.
"God, where do I place them? How do I wake her up?" A voice muttered.
"You've already woken me up Rohan," I muttered as I stood up from the air mattress only for my legs to feel wobbly and I had to hold the wall for support.
"You okay?"
"Yes I'm very much okay!" I snapped.
"Okay,"
"Look, just give me the things and I'll feel better,"
It was then that I noticed that he had two huge carry bags and a drink in his hand.
"What's all this?"
He blushed as he scratched his neck.
"No caffeine on periods so a drink, your favourite snacks and ice-creams, though I'm only realising now that we don't really have a freezer because we only have a silly small fridge, I didn't know which brand of pad is the best so I got four of the best ones I thought there were, and yeah that's it,"

"I would kiss you if I had showered,"
The words were out before I could even hold them and both of our eyes were wide as we avoided eye contact. When Rohan cleared his throat, I took my cue and rushed inside the bathroom with my bundle of clothes and necessities.
°
Do you know when you have to avoid someone and it's like all the other days you'll be able to avoid them but like this particular day, God will do everything in their will to make your paths cross? Yeah that's what's happening with me.
I am hiding in one room since my statement because I'm embarrassed and taking this cue, Rohan is in the other room and I only leave the room when necessary, which is almost everytime since I keep forgetting one or the other thing.
"Sunil," Rohan said as he entered the room.
Sunil and I are working on the case for that Abhinav guy, we need to get our house back any how because of the fact that our documents were manipulated. Rohan is working on another case in the other room.
"Yes Rohan?"
"I--"
That is the exact timing Sunil's phone starts ringing and he leaves the room, leaving us both alone.
Cue to sweaty hands and red face.
"Urm..."
"So about this morning,"
"Don't mention it," I muttered as I face-palmed myself.
"No I was just asking if you're feeling better," he said as he walked closer to where I was sitting settled besides me.
"I'm feeling better," I murmured.
He sighed as he turned to face me, his eyes were so intense that even if I wanted to look away, I couldn't.
"Then about that comment..." He trailed off, a slight tug on his lips as he stared at me.
"Don't," I muttered.
"You're too shy," he whispered.
My cheeks coloured at the comment and I stood up to leave but then he held my hand and pulled me down, this time I was a little closer to him. He cupped my cheeks and leaned in closer, until our forehead touched, and I leaned into his touch. There's something about his touch, it's the warmth or the tenderness with which he holds me, it melts my insides.

"Sanjana, sweetheart I--"
"Dinner's ready!" Mom yelled from the kitchen.
As if a spell was cast on us and now the powers of spell have vanished, we both jerked away from each other, only to bump heads into each other.
"Ow!" I hissed as I pressed a hand on my head.
"S-shit," he said before clearing his throat. "I'm sorry."
He said as he placed a hand on the back of my head and then with the other hand removed my hand as he rubbed my forehead, alternatively blowing air on it.
"You okay?" He whispered.
I don't know what came upto be but I wrapped my arms around his waist and put my head on his shoulder as I nodded.
"If I ask you this question again, will I be rewarded with a hug?" He joked as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer.
"Depends," I murmured even when I was grinning like a Cheshire cat.
"Rohan, Sanjana aa jao!"
"Yes ma, coming!" I yelled back as I pulled away and quickly rushed to the living room.
"You guys were not kissing? Goodness here I thought because you were taking--"
"Monica!" I reprimanded as heat crept up my face and neck.
"Monu, leave them alone," Sunil said as he poked her ribs.
I ignored Rohan through the dinner because I could feel him staring at me, he had been staring at me since Monica's comment.
"Bhai, stop staring at Bhabhi like that, you're giving me creeps,"
"Kyu? She's my wife, I get to stare at her all I want," Rohan said as he gave Sunil a stink eye.
"My goodness, these children," mom said as she shook her head.
"Ma, you rest, I'll wash the dishes," I said as I placed the dishes in the sink and placed all the other utensils on their places.
"Yes mom, I'll help her," Rohan said as he took the other set of plates to the sink.
"Sirf help ha," Sunil said.
Rohan groaned before throwing a napkin at him.
As all of them returned to their rooms, Rohan came to stand beside me and stared at me as I washed the dishes.
"You're supposed to help not stare at me which, to inform you, isn't helping one bit," I said as I focused on the water.
"Sanjana," he said with the same intensity as before.
"Not now Rohan," I said and immediately winced at a cramp.
Fucking period cramps!
"Why don't you sit yeah? I'll wash these," Rohan said.
"N-no I'll--" my sentence ended with a squeal as I was lifted off the ground and placed on the kitchen counter near the sink.
"Hey! That's unfair!"
"We'll, according to me, it's fair and it's comfortable enough so that the cramps aren't that troublesome," he said.
I watched him as he washed all the dishes and placed them on the kitchen counter and then wiped his hands as he stood before me.
"So, it's the first day of the whole diwali process tomorrow and you guys haven't even decorated the place yet," he said.
"Diwali process? You mean Dhanteras?"
"Yeah," he said.
"'Yeah' and we'll be starting everything tomorrow, mom and Monica went shopping today so we'll put everything up,"
"Hmm," he said as he turned his face and looked over the kitchen.
And that was when I did it. I kissed his cheek.
"What was that?" He asked, his eyes wide as he flashed me his biggest smile.
"Keeping my word from this morning, sorry if I startled you or like I know consent is important and it's not only the guy who should ask for consent but I just felt like doing it--"
"Kitna tension you'll take? And please, I would tatoo "please kiss me" over my body if you doubt I'll be upset over you kissing me," he said.
"My goodness aren't you cheesy?"
"Well reading rom-coms help me,"
"Can you get anymore perfect? You read rom-coms! "
"A guy can try,"

Clearly that last part was unplanned but words just came out tumbling here is the story. I only wrote half on Saturday and then wrote the other half today.
How are you? I'm sorry for the long wait, it was like I knew what I had to write but just didn't have the will to write...
