Getting ready for my first night out at a club I thought of the many things that could possibly happen. I could get totally wasted, leaving myself unable to walk to the car or make it up the stairs when I arrived home. I may even meet a hot human and live out some wild fantasy. Or even without an insane amount of liquor or the possibility of a one-night stand, I could simply have a fun time with my best friend. The possibilities in my mind were endless.
But unbeknownst to me, what was to come was something I never could have expected. What fate had in store for me would change my life forever.
"Definitely wear the blue dress" Lynn stated, yanking the leopard print one from my hand and tossing the cobalt material at me instead. "This one" she gestured to my first choice "looks like something those bimbos on MTV wear, no offense" she laughed as I rolled my eyes at her endless taunting.
Lynn was my best friend and practically a professional bar hopper at this point. Whereas I just turned eighteen and decided to finally give in and use a fake I.D. for a night of fun, she had been sneaking in since she was sixteen. After her many pleads to come along, I finally decided to do so.
What we were doing was still illegal since we prepared to drink so much even if that caused us days of hangovers. However, knowing that I was allowed into the club now, just not without a wristband made me feel safer. It was as if I was not breaking the law entirely, just bending the rules.
Sighing I followed her commands and slid on the thin blue dress, taking in every shine and shimmer the fabric offered. Analyzing it in the mirror I had to agree, it suited by body shape better than the other ones that I had previously tried on. This one was snug; it was form fitted on my assets but left me with enough room to sit and actually breathe. "Here" Lynn jumped up, running over to her purse, and pulling out our fake cards that she picked up earlier. "Almost forgot" she grinned handing me my identity for the evening.
My smile dropped as soon as I saw it. This was not what we planned. "This is not me!" I shrieked looking at the picture on the I.D. Sure, we both had a similar shade of chocolate brown hair though mine was a bit longer than hers. However, the biggest problem with the photo swap was that I had bright sapphire eyes and hers were a dull, almost lifeless brown.

"Yeah" she shrugged like it was truly no big deal. "He said he couldn't use your school photo because he needed one with an all-white background to mock the DMV pictures. Yours was red" she stated carelessly as I spun to look at her I.D.
She got an updated one, saying she wanted to take a hotter picture. Though unlike mine, hers was actually a photo of herself making it much easier for her to slide past a bouncer unscathed. "Well, I'm going to get caught "I hissed immediately thinking of jail and the hideous orange jumpsuits the inmates were forced to wear. Sure, being a werewolf meant I was stronger than your typical human but, being locked up behind bars would be such a cliché for a caged dog. One that I did not intend on fulfilling.
A sickening feeling dominated my body as I exhaled in a weak attempt to calm my racing nerves. "Oh my God. Shut up Jamie!" She said through a playful laugh, though I could sense some annoyance lingering within her voice. Paying me no mind she slid on a black mini dress, that held her petite frame perfectly. Smoothing make up over her already flawless ebony skin her gaze flickered up to me. "You look hot, you look twenty-one" she gestured to my small dress and the abnormally high heels that I was dangling in my hands "and you are going to have the greatest night of your life. I promise!"
"Maybe you're right" I sighed giving in to her as I always did. Hearing this only made her day as she followed in suit strapping on four-inch heels of her own. If I played the part, I should be okay, right?
After hooking on her heels, she stood, walking toward my dresser. "I usually am" she shook her head and turned up my speaker allowing music to blare throughout my bedroom. Planning the song perfectly she bellowed out the opening lyrics. "Teen drinking is very bad Yo, I got a fake I.D. though" she went on, shaking her shoulders as I finally loosened up and began to dance around my room with her. She is right? What could possibly go wrong?

The closer we grew to the front of the line the more nervous I became. Each step forward was an opportunity to turn around but each time I ignored my gut and remained silent. "Just relax" Lynn instructed flashing me a stern look as we waited in line to enter the overly packed club. That was easy for her to say, she has done this before. She looked the part; she was calm and in control whereas I was sweating bullets. I would not consider myself to be a worrywart but right now I sure was acting like one. I had this overwhelming feeling brewing inside my body warning me to turn away before something bad could happen but with each step closer, I ignored my subconscious urge to leave.

I peered up taking in the large red-bricked building, my eyes zooming in on the word Toxic that was lit up in flashing pink lights above my head, making me slightly more nervous the closer we got to the bouncer. "Here" she tugged on the V-neck of my cobalt blue dress showing off more of my cleavage and honestly making me look like I belonged in a Penthouse magazine.
"What are you-" I hissed as she cut me off, her round pools narrowing in one mine once more giving me a silent warning to stop freaking out before I gave us away.
"If you look the part you'll be fine" she promised as she flipped her sleek black hair over her shoulder and spun around flashing the club's bodyguard the fakest smile she could muster up, the confidence radiating off of her. Lynn was absolutely stunning, a gold sparkling dress laid against her ebony skin and red heels strapped to her feet. With little thought, the tattooed beefcake allowed her to pass but not before checking her out as she walked away. Pig. Seconds later he turned his attention back to me. His thin, partially chapped lips worn in a straight line as he took me in from head to toe.
The confident act I had been practicing all day was long gone as a wave of anxiety flushed through me. Staring directly into his hazel eyes, I grinned shyly and handed him my I.D. mentally trying to remember that if he questioned my eye color that I was wearing contacts. Though as soon as I was close enough to him to distinguish his scent from the others around, I knew he was human, meaning this should be easy.
"Jamie Watson" his husky voice met my ears as I nodded. He glanced up at me briefly and then back at the card in his hand then back to me then back at the card. Slowly he lifted it closer to my face to examine the picture and me side by side. By this point, I felt like I was going to pass out, this was not as easy as I thought a second ago. My knees were trembling uncontrollably causing me to stand up straight and lock them in place to prevent myself from collapsing on the spot. Biting the inside of my cheek I began to taste the copper blood, yet my chomping did not cease.
'Flirt!' Lynn's advised telepathically through our mind link. Being able to communicate silently with our wolves has to be the biggest blessing that comes along with being a werewolf.
I inhaled deeply as I took in the slightly older yet attractive man with his broad shoulders and lean frame trying to build some security within myself. He is a freaking human, what am I worried about?! "I'm getting impatient out here" I chuckled, in what I hoped was a seductive tone as I tapped my wedged booties lightly against the dirty concrete. Instantly the strangers' eyebrows lifted to a high peak as his gorgeous gaze roamed over my body slowly analyzing every curve I had to offer. "When your off duty come find me" I added running my pointer finger down his chest as I bit my bottom lip in a provocative way.
"Okay, Jamie Watson" he purred back putting emphasis on my name as if saying he knew the ID was not real, but he would let me enter anyway. Smirking at my accomplishment I stepped up to grab my I.D. "If that is your real name" sarcasm dripping from his words as flashed me a secretive wink. Without giving him time to rethink letting me in I leaped in the club instantly gripping Lynn's arm as if she was my safe zone.
"Epic!" She sang as I squinted my eyes hatefully at her. Did she not just hear him say that he pretty much knew I was using a fake I.D.?!
Though before I could even complain my eyes took in the insane sight in front of me. Strobe lights were flashing rapidly as the dangerously loud music clogged my eardrums. Glancing around I stared at the bodies that were shaking around, grinding on one another and the others screaming out alcohol orders. This was nothing like I ever imagined. "Let's drink," I said instead as she crossed her arm in mine giving me the widest smile she could.
"Do you smell all those humans?" Lynn hollered lifting her nose as if she were in her wolf form. I nodded my head though my focus was really on those few stray wolf scents lingering in the building.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!

Death's Daughter | Supernatural, D.W.
My life is normal, or at least relative to it. Really, how normal does life get, being the offspring of the most murderous of beings, the undertaker himself? Being Death's daughter isn't easy. Existence itself is a trying subject; even more trivial when it's based around taking the lives of (mostly) innocent people. The word mostly is an asterisk for people like Sam and Dean Winchester. My father informed me of them at a young age after a reaping that had obviously gone sideways. "If you have the chance," he instructed me, "drag those obnoxious cock roaches down to Hell, and leave them there."Then, one day, two flannel-clad idiots and their angel on a leash wander into my jurisdiction of the veil. My life has never been the same; my life has never been the preconceived notion of 'normal' that it once was.Disclaimer: I do not own any characters or plot lines from Supernatural.
